Multi-clienting

I have searched for an answere but didnt find any, so ill ask and hopefully a GM can settle this.
In ESO and BoI it is allowed to be logged into 2 diff accounts on the same computer, AS LONG AS 1 of the accounts are in town, vending(or simular, but both acc's isnt allowed to gain exp at the same time)
Do the same rules apply to PW?
Can i have a 2nd account in town selling stuff while beeing out exping on my main one?

As far as I know, it has never been allowed in PWI to run 2 clients on 1 computer, no exceptions.
You are allowed to play on a laptop and a pc at the same time on different accounts, just not 2 different accounts on 1 computer
*edit - several laptops/computers lol. sounded like it's only allowed as a laptop/computer config. When I got the meaning of melee mixed up:
'Maj.. Melee ffs.. means I'm punching you in the face 1 foot away!'

Multiclienting = running more than 1 game client on one computer = against rules = bannable
Multiboxing = running more than one computer with 1 client on each = ok = allowable
b:byeI post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -

The problem with this is what defines a separate box, and how are they attempting to detect it? IE: Multicore, dual cpu, networked, MAC address, OS, KVM, etc.Be kind: Help the GMs to depopulate the servers.0 -

Wonders why again this is NOT sticky'ed..
GM fail again.. sigh
Why GM Fail... well lets face it this is coming back and back and back and back and back....
If people bothered to do a search it would be less of a fail but I would HIGHLY recommend the GM's/MOD's of this game make a sticky of it.
(Did I mentioned this before in one of those thread??? well yeah I did lolz)I speak for myself. My opinions are my own.
Assuming I speak for others is therefor void.0 -
I dont get it tough, heres 2 other games from PWI:
Battle of Immortals: http://boi-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=57441&highlight=DUAL+ACCOUNT
Ether Saga Online: http://eso-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=233341&highlight=client
They both legalize multi-clienting if 1 account stay put in town and only is used for vending, why is this game different?lolcrabs 4x Assassin0 -
Those games are not PWI..
Their rules do not apply to this game.
That's how the cookie crumbles. Aka.. don't ask as if you read up on the threads about this very subject you would see the technical guys made that rule. GM's asked they relayed that rule.I speak for myself. My opinions are my own.

who really cares? the point is everyone does it and nobody gets banned for it.

It would be awesome if the trolls of this forum could stay away from this thread, just so anyone in charge could set it straight.
The trolling is just making it harder to find an actual answerelolcrabs 4x Assassin0 -
Don't worry about that.
This forum requires a flame repellent suite at times.

Its just annoying to read trough several pages to find a GM-response, but only to find alot of oppinions(wich i dun care about)lolcrabs 4x Assassin0 -
Advocate of the devil steps up:
Making rules and enforcing them is difficult at best. Frankly I would love to see a stickey made of it but I would think the GM's/MOD's would not want to get into murky waters as this can get really messy.
Especially as these rules can never be "really" enforced as law does not apply to all players from different countries who are welcome to play in this game.I speak for myself. My opinions are my own.

Multiboxing = two seperate boxes, not two logical devices, not dual cpu, not running two clients on one physical computer. Is that really too hard to understand?
As for being able to detect it or not is not the scope of the rule... doing so is against the rules and is a bannable offense.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -

How about this 1:
Mainboard with 2 physical CPU's (aka 2 sockets) and dual NIC's + VMware guests running with assign CPU's...
It's getting messy already.I speak for myself. My opinions are my own.

Both are games from PWI, don't know what planet you are living on Oo.
Anways, yeah it's a bit dumb if you think about it. I have 2 laptops running my shop accounts, but my main computer could easily handle all three (quad core cpu ). As in windowed and accelerated mode they don't even spike my cpu of my laptop for 10%I'm famous! i'm on ecatomb0 -
PWI being this game
PWI is part of Perfect World Entertainment Inc. which also hosts BoI etc.
Correct me if I am wrong tho.I speak for myself. My opinions are my own.

LOL >.> trust me, ppl do get banned and pretty hard too. so go ahead, be my guest :>
I myself use a laptop for my shop or alt and my main pc for my main char. It's a nice solution, but really, running multiple clients on 1 computer is bannable.
FYI this has been stated time and time again by GMs as well as players. b:byeWhen I got the meaning of melee mixed up:

Got me another one btw about silyness.
get a comple of VMware ESXi boxes running vCenter (distrubited switch enables with FT and HT.)
On these servers setup a Windows XP box with PWI-client available via VDI..
Love to see an answer of the techguys then.
Or Hyper-V running on Windows 2008 R2 Service Pack 1
Bottomline still remains: Follow the rule. End of story.I speak for myself. My opinions are my own.

LoL as much as you'd like to bend the rules: no is no and will stay no untill further notice from devs/gms tadaaa aint that hard. When I got the meaning of melee mixed up:

Agree.
Just giving examples where is gets murky.

Over and over and over. Get a clue already.
As has been stated a multitudinous number of times:
While you may physically be able to do it, multi-clienting is not allowed on this game.
Get over yourselves and follow the rules or break them at your own peril - period - end of discussion.

theres no real way they could tell whether someone was multiclienting or running multiple computers. something like this happened to a roomate of mine. he went to go buy cubi gold, and they said that he couldn't because the household limit had been reached. i buy cubi gold, so it was me on my computer for my account. but we're in the same house, so we have the same ip address.
the only way i see that they could know the difference would be to **** into your computer for both clients, and check the systems of the computers to see if their the same or not. which i believe to be illegal, cause that is considered hacking.Dark for fear of failure

Your so very wrong, I've never posted on these forums but your ignorance has caused me to break my vow of silence... You can easily from game server side see whose multi-client via your Mac ADDRESS which is a special code that identifies your computer accessing the game. No hacking needed you accept the agreement of rules of participation with the game when you Installed it, so they have a right to see whose accessing THEIR MATERIAL. b:bye0 -

got proof to back up your statement?
and the definition of ignorance is not knowing something. so yes, maybe my ignorance has caused it. but you need to show proofDark for fear of failure
