    I did this event twice--once in a squad, once out.

    I ranked 16th (or 15th) of all participating psychics while squadded, then 5th of all participating psychic while solo.

    Which leads me to believe that contribution points are split amongst squad members.

    b:cry ok, i have play with a Damage Dealer magic
    100 point from west minions (1 minions solo, probably other 40 minions shot with other player)
    60 point from capitain (i have start to damage from 90-95% of healt)
    400 point from Boss (i have start to damage from 98% of healt)
    Total = 560 point + 438 random point = 998
    position 17 into my ranking list...never gift.

    position 16 have 1044 point and have rich box

    Now, i have used 4 of my MP bar = 24.000 MP.
    My skill consume 150 each point = 160 shot.
    7% critical = 11 critical
    7-8K medium damage, 15-16K critical.
    149*7.5+11*15K=1282.5K of damage...(1.2825KK)

    Minions have 50K HP, capitain 2KK, boss 118KK.
    118+2+40*0.05=122KK

    122KK/1,2825KK=1% contribution

    Now my friend is a barb.
    Damage 600-1000 each shot... and have 1500 contribution point b:surprised

    Your friend has been doing those npc quests, I`d say, it`s quite efficient on low DPS ppl. And your numbers fail on captains, those got 37KK hp, not 2KK.

    But I`m myself wondering what do I have to do to win barb rankings on Archosaur, been rank 2 3 or 4 times in a row, last time I scored 8,5k. I actually did beat the topdog on barbs last event, just to see somebody out of nowhere to beat both of us. I think I need GX to win the event, though I don`t think I can get those in time :(. Sad Panda goes to get ready for event and another failure b:cry

    Also, farm the Trinity of Winter Herbs. You can get over 1000 from those alone, which is enough to guarantee a small prize I believe.

    You could see if a fist BM or other good DD is willing to share their points with you :P

    kill minions (20 lv 50 and more other shooted)
    kill capitain to start (100%HP)
    kill boss from 96% hp
    collect 1 erb 150 contribution point
    complete the trial of patient (300 point)
    +
    300 random point

    1050 point
    b:angry

    Psy is a damage dealer...and psy is everytime the bad class into ranking list.
    Server have psy/wizzard lv 100, why never see magician or wizzard into general ranking score (need +20K to is first into this ranking list)?

    Bosses have high mdef apparently. And highest I got from a nienbeast was 1.1k for psy, and that was when the top two factions were at war. Fast casting definitely helps though, using big nukes is pointless.

    Only thing I can complain about is random points. I've been stuck with <200 (mostly 80-120) random points for 3 days straight. Can't even stay at top 10 anymore since people 5 spots below me always get 800+. I usually see a big list of them in the same range and I'm the only one with low random points. b:lipcurl

    I got 9 random points yesterday.

    Straight from 3rd place to 11th.

    yeah i have been getting 75-120 lucky while rest got 750-950. well that takes away #2 and boom down to **** packs by #7. lol

    Can someone explain why the gift envelope and incense of fortune expired right away? Is there a time limit on when to open them? or what? are they not actually gifts you get to keep? I cannot find a thread that gives the full explenation on each step of the event b:cry

    Those are meant to be used at the Elder of Astral Light or the altar-thingy in North Arch as soon as you receive them, they're just worth contribution. The final prize packs are awarded as a "quest" from your mailbox.

    I hate to be sour as most here are really enjoying the event and it is good to have various events to do but I'm pretty disappointed with PW. First the main page on the site does NOT explain how to do the event properly (thanks to Brigid i was able to give it a decent try my second time). Second it's very misleading. The event is for levels 50+, I'm 60 and with all my charms, buffs, potions and so on I cannot make rank high enough to get anything. The reason this is misleading is how PW states it......
    Prizes
    After the Nien Attack is over, the system will calculate the Contributions points. A random number will be generated for each participant, augmenting their score by that amount. Players will receive various levels of prizes depending on what their final Contribution score is. Claim your prize at any mailbox within 5 minutes.

    That states that EVERYONE that participated will get something just for participating, it just depends on your contribution as to what you will get. Give me the booby prize for joining at least as I tried hard. My some odd 30 friends i used to roll with years ago don't play anymore and now I'm going solo here but I'm here and doing the event. No where does it state if you don't pull in at least 1,500 points then you just lose and get nothing.

    Give those that participated but didn't qualify for jack sheet at least 5k exp. Is it really going to kill you pw?! *rolls her eyes*

    Actually, it does say:

    You can find it if you look in the Quest Log Under Normal > Nien Attack > The Heroes (at least during The Heroes phase of the event ... I am not sure if it is there at other times). It says:

    "Rewards will be given according to your contribution. Players whose contribution is less than 2,000 will not receive a reward."

    This probably explains why twice in the nine times I have done the event I got nothing. My best contirbution is 3741 after getting 271 random contribution at the end.

    I would not call it "abuse". It is simply a fact that if you do not cash in a quest that you started in a previous instance of the event, you can cash it in at the beginning of the next event. You lose some points in the earlier event but gain some in the next.

    I think the absolute total contribution that you can get this way is 1250, and it would take more than a few seconds because you would have to visit at least two NPCs and cash in up to 5 quests.

    1250 points to start might be huge to a Barb, but it is hardly a drop to an Archer. I tend to get a few hundred points this way, but mainly because I was too slow getting to the NPC last time. Nevertheless, if you only planned to do well once per day, I suppose you could use this as a strategy to help you to make the minimum contribution once every two events.

    Don't think you can ST the boses, I tried but it didn't work... or maybe I missed... a few times... <_<

    You can only harvest the pink herbs after the nien captains have been defeated. You can no longer harvest them after all the nien beasts are defeated.
