Also not everyone merchants so maybe you should stop and see how it is without it.
And last thing I still blame it on the pick order. There's no way the lowest DD can get GBA since getting 6 in a run is almost if not impossible without 2x drops. And another thing I noticed is barbs are much better geared on average than DDs. There are some bad barbs true but it's like 70% have +3 or +4 or greater refines while 70% of DDs have +1 max +2. The rest of percents are exceptions and not the rule.
Note I'm talking about 8x and 9x below 95 or so, not those close to or at 100 who had time to upgrade their gear etc.
I fail to see how barbs are better geared than others on Raging Tide, most barbs I see have full +1/+2. Last time I was online I was at OT and the only barb that came by with gear past +2 was the one who I sold my old gear to for very cheap once I hit 90.
And lol @ the lowest DD cant get a GBA unless 6 drops (which never happens, most I've seen is 2)
I managed to get 5 GBA armors BEING THE LOWEST DD. Because barbs just don't tank 3-1, herc venos always end up tanking.
And I'm really not that rich, I can't even afford the 2 touch of seven luminaries for a swindler's necklace yet and I'm 3mil in debt. Guess ima have to do some TT when I get back online.
Like others have said, find a squad to run TT with, sell the mats and split the coins. But of course that would deprive you of your excuse to have **** gear. Hell even if you do barb > cleric > DDs drop order you still get something. So many DDs make it sound like if you dont get first pick your screwed, on Raging Tide there are three green mats that drop in 2-3 that sell high. Arms, antennas, and dust of devil. I usually get around 9-10 of these per run.
The reason that a ton of DDs are running around with +1 TT90 weapons isn't because of a "broken system" it's because they do 1 TT run a week and expect to become rich for life off of it and then when people ask why they have a +1 weapon their response is because of "oh I never get first pick" when in truth the answer is "I do around 1 TT run per week and never try to work on my gear"
I think it's more prevalent on Raging Tide because of the fact that it's a PvE server so most people dont think that they need good gear for PvP, but a DD should still refine their weapon so that they can do their job better in PvE.
Sadly it's so common on my server for a DD to have a +1 weapon that I usually end up going with that DD, but I would never hesitate to kick them for a DD with a properly refined weapon.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

OneHottShot - Heavens Tear wrote: »Thats a big gamble. Considering there is no guarantee they will release another pack (though I'm pretty sure they will) also a gamble because if gold continues to go down you will actually LOSE money.
So if you keep your money in coin and PWI unexpectedly announces a sale or brings packs back, gold goes up 25% and your coin has just lost 25% of its value. But if you've been converting your coin to gold as you made it and saved it as gold, your investment is safe regardless of the price of gold.
And when a sale is scheduled to end, you can just convert that gold to coin, or (better yet) buy the sale items for resale after the sale ends. There's really very little downside to saving your money as gold instead of coin. The main one I've run across is it's harder to jump on a rare good deal you find on a cat shop. So I try to keep my gold/coin ratio at about 2:1 to 5:1.0 -

Run with friends. Create a regular squad for TT runs. Stop doing pick-up parties.

Didn't bother to read the rest of the mumble jumble after reading this line. Full TT90 on a level 83 character? Your level 83 character can't wear the TT90s. Unless you mean you have it in the inventory or something that's ready for the character once they hit level 90...I call it how I see it.

I did.
It sat in my bank waiting for me to hit 90, then I retired that character and gave it away.Split the mirages, refine your gear. You can get up to +3 without any real effort.
Crazy talk, then they would have to do more than 1 run.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

You'd be amazed how many people on Raging Tide have full +1 gear and do maybe one TT run a week.
And I'm not talking about 7x/8x here, I'm talking about 90+[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Well, it is also a newer server... there is less competition, less need for high refines.
FWIW, I crafted a set of TT80 Gold for a friend a few weeks back. All 4 pieces. I got them all to +3 with 58 mirages, though I had 200 mirages set aside to do that. It's not all that difficult, you just need to actually be bothered to doing it.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -
I usually just use a tienkang stone for +3, my luck with mirages is terrible. Then another tienkang for +4 and then switch to tisha stones. I stopped going for +3 with just mirages when I failed with 100 mirages to get +3 on my TT90 wrists.
There is less need for high refines sure, but an archer using a +1 TT90 weapon? That just doesn't make sense, and it's not just a few people, it's a large percentage of people on the server.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

No lvl83 archers allowed as an example mkay? b:bye
I like how you talk like your advice can work for everyone while we know can only work for a select few. Profile to look for, just to see the minority for having a "reliable" way to earn some profit as a DD (split money, etc):
1) High lvl players (90+)
2) Players who don't run with others or with their faction
3) Players who play PWI the moment they get home and to sleep, and on top of that, do TT runs in that time day after day (remember: it doesn't matter if YOU are necessarily this obsessed, you depend on OTHERS to be so too!)
4) Uhm.. teh most important one. Trustworthy. Welcome to the real world where it's the minority.
Yep, definitely, something EVERYONE has access to. I mean, without it, they are just plain teh lazy, teh suxxors, teh noobs. Am I rite? b:beatup0 -
You wonder why DDs don't like TT? Ask any wizard, it's because of the discrimination. While BMs and sins and archers etc at least don't have much costs in a TT run, wizards for example have as much as clerics yet clerics get to pick before... wtf who made these rules?
About selling all mats and sharing LOL you don't know how many selfish people are on this server, you can't trust everybody now. I still didn't receive my money for a gold mat that dropped once in a 2-1 run where we were supposed to split the profit. ffs
Usually us DDs end up in pick up parties because there are much less tanks and clerics than DDs especially on RT, it's very hard to run a TT more than once per day with "fair people". The few that are tanks/clerics either (1) don't want TT much (2) are selfish.
You seriously think me or the other DDs you keep talking about wouldn't like to do 'fair' TT runs instead of getting bored in Arch/grinding? You're dead wrong. If only it was as easy to get parties like that as you say.
BTW: I'm not that poor I'll get at least +3 on every TT90 gear when I'll get and put flawless in it (hopefully token price will drop when next packs will come) but I'm talking about the other ones you mentioned having +1 and +2First 103 on Raging Tide 30 Oct 2010

1) High lvl players (90+)
I am talking about 90+ lol, there's so many 90+ with +1 gear it's hilarious. That's because they probably get no drops at all. Why would they bother doing more, to lose more money in the process?
Then maybe you should *gasp* STOP RUNNING WITH THOSE PEOPLE.
I know it's insane, but you should try it sometime.
Besides, you're level 74, running TT for profit on Raging Tide at level 74 was profitiable for about 1 month. Do you really expect to make money running 1-2/2-1? Nothing of value drops in any of those.
When you do TT runs, no one should be walking away with nothing, unless if everyone is, which is rare (last 2-3 run I did we only got 1 antenna b:cry)
Your not gonna make money doing a TT1-2/2-1 run. You have to do a run where something actually drops, like 2-3/3-2/3-3You wonder why DDs don't like TT? Ask any wizard, it's because of the discrimination.
Your in QQme correct? Ask ShadowX I used to run with him all the time and he somehow managed to get good gear.wizards for example have as much as clerics yet clerics get to pick before... wtf who made these rules?
And who chooses to follow these so called "rules"? You do. You accept a drop order rate and for that you have no one to blame but yourself. I can tell you right now that there's a deficiency of DDs on Raging Tide. Correction, GOOD DDs. I would be happy to sell the mats and split coins with my squad if they perform their roles. I would have no problem doing that with a GOOD damage dealer. Why? Because good damage dealers are in short supply. Now if the DD is some level 90 sin using +1 level 80 daggers? Then yeah I'm not going to do a drop order because quite frankly I don't need him.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

You have to make friends. You have to work hard to find people that are similar level range and with similar goals and desires. Of course it's not easy to create. You act as if everything should be haneded to you. In my new faction it took nearly 3 months to find people that would go as often as we could, help farm each other's gears and trust each other to sell and split unneeded mats.
This whole BH-hyper noob crowd that you seem to be a part of are all selfish, addicted to speed leveling and can't be bothered to be patient and work hard. It's more likely that you're not trying enough. If you are, that kinda sucks, but you can't always get what you want.AdvanceZero - Heavens Tear wrote: »0.o

Actually it's not 20% less money. You get gear drops and coin from killing mobs. 20% reduction in DQ does not mean you make 20% less coin, it just means you make 20% less coin just from DQ drops.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -
I don't know what kind of mobs you all be grinding on that drops lots of gear and stuff.....but mobs i seem to fight like to drop dq above everything else. I'm sure 20% doesn't drop to 7%.Retired

As I said I was talking about the people Rawrgh mentioned, being all poor and stuff at 90. You do realize server is a few months old right? And there wasn't that "3 month period" for 80+ to find their groups?
I'm just saying Rawrgh shouldn't complain about other ppl's gears, and I explained why it's hard for them to get decent and I understand, as do you. Not everyone is as lucky/rich/barb as Rawrgh -.-First 103 on Raging Tide 30 Oct 2010

I'm not lucky, and I'm not rich.
Like I said previous I wouldn't expect everyone to have "good" gear. I wouldn't expect every level 90+ to have full +4 gear, but there's a level that should be expected, i.e refining a weapon past +2. I understand that my gear is above average and I don't expect everyone to have my gear, but there are some levels where you can expect others to have their gear. I don't expect every 90+ to have a +5 weapon like I do, but I would expect them to have at least +3[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Well, it is really tough to find people that are honest and fair and willing to work towards a similar goal. I don't know how frustrating it is between my last farming group and my new one. Of course people who are too busy leveling or being selfish won't have anything to do with such a party, but at some point the addiction to exp must stop and actually playing the rest of the game must start. Keep looking, ask in faction... talk to people your level and tell them you want to put together a regular group for money runs. It's difficult at first, but when people see that you are doing it and are successful they'll want to be a part of it.
I helped teach my last guild how to farm TT. After a few months we had 3 regular groups of people doing their own runs.
I understand what you were saying, I was just trying to give a little hope? lolI post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -

Don't worry, with that kind of money there's no Herc anyway.
I gave up teleporting completely. Back in the old days I only teleported cheap routes that were reasonably long (like Wellspring <-> Lost City), but now that the game is getting extremely boring and only happening in places with expensive teleports I "play" AFK most of the time anyway, so no need to teleport.
It's up to you.Slow progress, game is getting way too grindy :-( Quests I still hope to be able to do some day: FB39, General Feng0 -
A good think to do is either saving money untill u get about 450k or take 450k from your main (if you have one) and buy a Hyper.
Get together a couple of high lvl friends and do a Hyper frost run with them.
You will gain about 2,5-3 mil exp and alot of lvls. Now when you're alot higher lvl just do those quests that you havn't done and you'll probably one hit every mob.
(You might loose a couple of quests and therefor alot of spirit/rep).
It's also alot cheaper than oracles.
Enjoy b:victory0 -
