I charge some zen from time to time.
when I started playing I only earned money for everything through merchanting, and I know a few people who hardly spent anything on the game and still have pretty good gear.

I don't have the time to watch market prices, so it's easier to just buy gold if I want anything. also saves power <.<

Anyone can put gold up for any amount FOR sale, that does not mean they can sell the gold. Economics says where demand and supply meet is the price it should be sold, and as long as gold is being sold that is the price it should be.

However from posts alone on the forum, and sentiment in game, Mystimonk will never have gold that is worth that much to sell, as the only buyer would be themself. People already dislike current prices, and long before the price creeped up to even a percentage of Mystimonk's price, no one would be buying it anyways. Whether from quitting or finding a different method, Airyll is right in that Mystimonk's belief in how much they can sell their gold for is guano crazy.

to tell you the truth ya im a cash player, but at the same time i actually put the hours and hard work into leveling up with my wife but who cares if someone spends the cash or not ona game thats their choice there coin :P so i mean yeah i totally agree with some people picking at those who spend money on PWI, but at the same time those that dont say they spend coin on a game is a big lie, ya you can make coin from doing TT runs but you cant do that until level 60+ or if you sell DQ items but its still not enough coin dont get me wrong i know a few people that grind like crazy and doing TT runs almost everyday and yeah they are pretty wealthy but its really hard work, i for one wasnt always a gold player i was all about grinding and questing finding my own ways of making coin, and im not one of those gold players that power levels either i still grind and quest., and do BH when needed, anyways im in class xD so have a good one

Someone has to BUY your gold for coins. If you put insane prices, NOBODY will, it is IRRELEVANT how much you think gold is worth.

And guess what happens if no one buys your gold or aerogear or whatever? You don't get any coins.

I remember too stories:

1 i was on couples quest and i got pked by a kos archer, while i was tanking and he killed me, i whisper to him hey wanna pk now im not with a boss on my face? he said sure we meet start fighting and guess wt the archer didnt run from me he just stayed in the air and shooting me his metal skills 10 sec after i was dead... i said wtf lets do again he said ok, same story im dead.. so i info him and then i realise omg, i said ok dude i quit ur better sand too cash shopper for me, he said lol i dont cash shop b:chuckle
this guy had full TT 99, event rings boots helm, and a lv l5 tome ticket all refined at 7 and a 10 plus wep(the **** one that has a chance to debuff).


The other was from a friend of mine that had full TT 90 and the and all of the suddent i saw him from one day to another with full TT 99 refined at 7 plus and some at 8 +(not to mention the best tome in game atmm) i said OMG bro how much u cash shop for all that, he said lol im never cash shop in my life.....

Bet its hard to buy it at that price nowadays =_= if gold prices were 100k a piece I'd for sure stop charging zen, and start farming for it :P I can make about 200k an hour or so... by killing mobs only

This is why I think PvP in an RPG is stupid. In a FPS, everyone has the same abilities (or same choice of abilities). So if someone is better at PvP in a FPS, it's most often because they're a better player (though sometimes network connection plays a part).

In an RPG, your abilities depend on how long you've played and (in a game like this) how much money you've spent. None of which reflects how good a player you are. So of course people who "win" at PvP in an RPG are going to pretend they don't spend much money or time playing. They want to maintain the facade that they won because they are a better player.

I have better gear than that and I don't cash shop... just because someone is far better equiped than you doesn't make them a cashshopper.

There seems to be a disconnect caused by the introduction of BHes, and later Oracles I suppose.

People who started the game when servers came out were given the opportunity to currently have all niravana +12 gear right now without ever having needed to spend a single cent on the game. All they needed to do was spend a little time merchanting, and profit margins truly were obscene back then (30%+ per sale basically, and gold was able to be rebought at same price as before). We gained a crapton of coins simply because we had one option for leveling: Grind and xp scrolls. Rebirth wasn't played yet, and every other major xp gain was non-existant other than Zhen and fish parties. And zhen didn't make much more xp than soloing for AoE capable classes.

We were making roughly 1-2 million coins per day, which translated to gaining 10-20 gold. Some would be spent on xp scrolls, but those were usually saved up. Charms or apothecary for continuous grinding, and by mid-50s drops were equal to expenditure of constant charm and xp scroll use. Just leaving one out would equal profit, and higher grinding guaranteed a good amount of profit with just 1 v 1. Once in AoE mob range, profit margins were quite obscene, and again this is what would happen daily.

So if it is someone who came around and did their leveling after BHes, or after packs, then there is a good chance you are right and that they charged for their gear.

But if it is someone who was around from the beginning, and they are just playing their main or an alt they decided to transfer funds to, end game gear was easily obtainable for anyone who has been here through all the sales and cheap gold prices, as long as they didn't waste it all. Course, there also wasn't TT mats to buy from AH either, so they had to farm their own, which removes even that drain of coin.
