I fell out of the series when it hit X. I didn't touch the computer game at the expense of my father; I had him buy it and play it instead so he could confirm how very bad it was, and I saved myself money. XII picked it back up relatively well, the new battle system was fun to toy with, and I would seriously go out and buy a PS3 for XIII but it's a lot of money for only one or two games.

I've also heard things about XIII and... they don't all sound too good.

I think the golden age of FF was it's games released for Playstation. Games before were awesome but really were touched upon and finalised in the Playstation's VII, VIII and IX.

And yeah. I tend to remember several bits and pieces of the games, partly because I did a couple of reviews for a few them and played VIII through in particular about five times. I be a born and bred gamer girl. =3

Awesome :D, ive had some people tell me the new FF is awesome and others tell me its past its best but yeah its alot of money to get a new console just to find out. However, Lost Oddessy on 360 satisfied my need for FF for a long time and its 5 discs long so it kept me busy b:victory.

People need to bring back the days of games that were four or five disks long.

The frustration gamers suffered when one disk became scratched and unplayable was just way too funny. You know... assuming that gamer wasn't you... then it just sucked...

I've not really touched my consoles lately. xD The latest game I played was Kingdom Hearts II - I finally decided to get Sora from 98 to 99 for the fun of it and remain amazed at how easy it is to level in that game. b:chuckle

I beat KH and it was okay. I played KH II and found it a huge improvement on the first game. Also, the increase in combos meant I royally sucked at playing the first KH afterwards. b:laugh

    You played through 8 5 times? b:surrender

Up until then i'd played and completed every single version of FF. This included having to get ahold of translated ROMs of 2, 3, & 5 (remember the 2 in america was actually 4 in japan, i'm using japan numbers) because they hadnt yet been released under those classic GB packages yet.

    Then i played 8...

*clomp clomp clomp* footsteps ricocheting in my head...
*draw draw draw* that insanely stupid, drawn out, and overly tedious esper/magic/stat system...

Put it down at some red dragon boss, never could tolerate to finish it. It ruined my streak! b:angry

Finished 9 & 10 also, but then 10-2 came along at the same time as 11 had me hooked. 10-2 was the already discussed garbage. And now i was into MMORPGs

Never actually played 12 even tho i bought it, dont even have the game system for 13.

There are sooooooo many awesome games on the older consoles that need to be revamped and brought out onto the PS3 or 360 imo.

Atleast it takes away from some of the idiotic posts some fools have made, and talking about old games is much more interesting that the original topic.

I found VIII to be really addicting, actually.

One thing I love about VIII is that you aren't supposed to level. The first time I played this game I got stuck on the final disk because I had assumed being a higher level was better for you, but that wasn't the case. I do believe that, to date, it's been the only Final Fantasy game where the monsters will level up with your characters, meaning the higher your level, the higher their level, the more difficult the game.

The shock on people's face when you explain this to them is hilarious, but better than that is telling them you beat the game with Squall at level 23. b:laugh

Draw is overrated. I only used it to grab the summons I wanted in VIII, because drawpoints had all the spells I needed. Also, Cerberus FTW, because double/triple rocks when you need to cast multiple cures. =3

I've stopped playing XII and I should really try and finish it... eh. It doesn't really grab my attention as much as older games did.

sadly the only thing i found going for 8 was the romance part of the plot. every battle for me was like... summon GF, hold down square on a turbo controller, the end.

i loved 10, but was disappointed in the final boss, its kinda sad... every FF seems to have a disappointing joke of a final boss.

safer sephiroth- die in 1 round with mimic + KOTR
kefka- die in one hit with offering + genji glove if youre strong enough
orphan- poison = bones his hp
jecht- anima + oblivion = OHKO
ultimecia- summon eden over and over, she die fast

    can we see the pattern here? it seems like to me, the only difficult bosses ive ever fought were on square enix's published tri-ace games. star ocean is notorious for boss fights that can royally **** your face without long hours of preparation. IE freya in SO till the end of time >_>;

*Sends you to FFXI* *Points at Absolute Virtue* Have fun!
(at least that game certainly did not have weak bosses)

ill admit, AV was difficult, but as a paladin RM, i could like solo a majority of the games bosses ~_~. ifrit and fenrir prime were jokes that just took forever :c. same with yiazmat in XII

Yiazmat was an absolute joke. That boss wasn't necessarily hard and you could even glitch it, but the fight just took years.

I will say that VII's bosses had stuff going for them. Not Safer Sephiroth, I'm more thinking along the lines of the Weapons. At least, the first time I tried to take on the Weapons, I think they must have just done the whole "faceroll on the keyboard" thing on their end because they handed my **** back to me in moments.

VIII's bosses really are a joke if you don't level and follow the principle of the game in it's whole "The lower your level, the better" idea. Ultimecia also dies really quickly if you use Irvine's overdrive, he just blows the **** out of her repeatedly. Eden works too, if you bother to get Eden.

Elemental Primes were generally soloable by RDM or some /RDMs. But they were just means to get summons for summoners, they werent really meant to be end bosses. Wish i remembered more of the names now, but the actual end bosses of the 3 nation chains, RoZ plot chain, & CoP plot chain, (ToAU was disaappointing), as well as final Sea bosses (JoL & AV), (Kirin in Sky wasnt so hard), Dynamis Lord & CoP Dynamis Diabolos (not the summon) , & Limbus Lords, were all very challenging things with much knowledge & preparation required. Not to mention some of the HNMs floating about.

back on those SE published games though, freya was ubsurdly ridiculous on 4D mode of star ocean QQ. youd be lucky if the fight took 3 hours with an average joe party, that is.. if her strongest move didnt kill you in one blow already.

you need hours of pain stakingly going through the crafting process and make these items to refine your weapons with +30% atk/def.

you needed to acquire 3 of the best accesories in game to avoid her magic from 1 shotting you.

max level 255 made things slightly easier

and after that, shed still have a chance at royally owning you without good cooperation and control of all 3 characters :p.

Why are you still posting? Seriously you are a joke now please before you next post learn how to type a damn sentence and then just maybe you might not look like a complete tard.

If it was a bar i would of left a long long time ago roughly about the time you first opened your mouth and im pretty sure you would drive most people away aswell.

Also, if you would like a 2nd opinion on what people think of you please read below.

Now that is over with please leave and do not return till you can atleast write a proper sentence and know what the hell you're talking about when commenting on in game things.

The normal message board style of typing is to come across illiterate, contradict previous posts, post wrong information and to look like a complete idiot?
