It is more than a regional issue. Take a moment to consider even the US players who are not able to make it to TW due to their work schedules. I would love to see a more varied time slot in TW's not only for my EU buddies, but also for all the other night owls on HT.

Put the shoe on the other foot: would you wake up at 4am for your guild war? Props to the EU players out there who do.

The game was designed for american players, hence the TW schedule is designed for american players.

Geez.... An international game, with international players, One would think more than One time for TW could exist. It would be much better for the Americans with some afternoons times mixed in there as well as benefiting more players from more time zones.

Ok, for the sake of argument, let's say they decide to move the TW's up a few hours, like you guys are proposing.

Most of you guys who are QQ'ing about this are where? Europe, right? Ok, so they move the TW's, and now what happens? Suddenly the players a few hours past you guys start QQ'ing cause now it's the middle of the night for THEM!

Do you understand the point? No matter when the TW's are, there will ALWAYS be a group that gets the shaft, time-wise. There's just no way around that.
The game was designed for american players, hence the TW schedule is designed for american players.

i am a american player i do not get to attend like i would like to cus the times are set for the west coast and not the rest of us

Yes it is. It's not just some stupid cash shop item, it messed up the whole economy.

agreed, but who cares? things have stabilized, and the stuff turns out to not be so damn "uber" as everyone thought it was
It's not so much about the "uber" stuff to me. I'm a casual CSer and I buy something if I really want it (Fashion, mount etc). Some other stuff I like to buy by using ingame coins, which has now become pretty expensive.
valid point, i guess i misinterpreted what you were meaning

Perhaps it lacks content. but at least the content there doesn't take a big chunk of an average person's salary.

there's very little content here that takes RL money, and all that content is entirely optional
Playing the game is optional too. I choose to play and pay once in a while. Over there I get more stuff for my money.
    basically same as above response

When I tried that version, I actually had less lag than over here.

probably because you live nearer to the EU servers?
That was exactly my point to Tear. He lags because he lives further away.
    lol b:chuckle

As for horrible customer service. Removing hairstyles from players and then saying those haircuts were a bug is excellent "customer service".
that's because it WAS a bug. look at the hairstyle ICONS. they were bugged, giving the wrong hairstyles (granted, those were nice hairstyles)
How are you so sure the icons weren't bugged instead? Or what about adding the ones on the icons instead of adding and removing
dunno, without seeing the before/after of the changes made to the code, we'll never really know. personally, i'm more inclined to believe the GMs on this one

    do fish go "RAWR :3"?

We have a very international mix of players on the server. It makes perfect sense to change some of the TW times around to benefit more people. As the times are now, they aren't all that convenient to Americans, let alone Europe and Asia. A wider range of times for TW's and events such as City of Abominations would benefit all players, as more people could be involved in these events.

I play from the east coast, and I used to play on a west coast server, and participated in several TWs.

11pm isn't a terrible time to have TW, granted it's not exactly the best either, but it could be worse, and it has only ever been a problem when the TW took over 2 hours.

you should consider yourself lucky an american subsidiary even allows your region into the game as there is a EU version. adjust to the time zones, or play the -5:00 GMT servers, or shut up.

LOL if all the EU players left you would be enjoying a nice server merge.
NON North American players more than likely make up over half the player base.

As a buisiness PWI are missing out on extra profits by only cattering to one timezone.

    flame on:
first of all, this is a disscusion between adults, no kids allowed, so go out and play will ya? its cheaper, no moms visa involved
    flame off.

second of all, there is a reason they call it international.
well, then lets make things equal for all
its not that hard to find a middle path, to make all players happy ---> more happy players much bigger pokets for pwi

maybe if a GM answers this thread, then we will have a fresh start point of view

Ah u know its americans and theyr arrogance. They think that they are the community. Why this version is International then? Maybe becuz they think that USA is like all world?

It reminds me like after basketball circus (aka NBA) finals where Celtics won championship, commentators said that they became world champions. They did not even played one game outside USA. So maybe americans think that USA is only one continent in world?

It has been said dozens of times by the GMs that the "International" just means that they haven't banned most regions, other than the ones that have their own version of PW, with the exception of Europe, which was probably a business choice.

Really, there is no way that the TWs would fit everyone in the world, that much is obvious. So really, stop complaining and enjoy the game.

Oh, and btw, 4am is a good time, allows you to stay up until then. Me, I got TWs at 6am, TW meets starting at 5am, which means I would have to wake up at like 4:30am. Which just kinda sucks.

Yes I dont like 5 AM TWs
But I also know, and accept, that PWE is an american company who scheduled TW to their own timezone. I dont mind the 11 PM TWs ^_^ (Thats 2PM server time) Mind having them occur a bit more? b:laugh

Must admit it would be nice for TW to suit the majority of the world, but sadly its true someone will always be unable to come no matter what =/
Fortunately for Aussies like myself, TW is like 2-3pm on the weekend, Occasionally 4am.
Imo although 4-5am is early, it isnt that bad, it at least gives a good opportunity for you to go to sleep earlier that night and just have a early start to the day ~ Better than say a 2am or 3 am TW or something.

I would argue the opposite. Personally, staying up until 2-3am isn't that bad, especially on the weekends. But try staying up until 6am when the TWs start. Really, an alarm at 4:30am is more likely to fail than to succeed. Which kinda leaves the option of staying up, which doesn't work too well either, what with the effects of sleep deprivation.

Even so, there are lots of people that succeed at doing that. I even know a few personally.

I'm an American, and TW AND Event times suck for me. They usually happen late at night. Which would be great and all, but I'm a night shifter. Which means, that I have work when all these things happen, but you know what, I deal. Life sucks some times, and this is just a game. Period.

Like so many people have said before, no matter what, someone gets a bad time. Oh well. What about people that work during TW? Should we reschedule for them? How about people that don't want to stay home on a Saturday/Friday night? Let's reschedule. Actually, hell, let's all just do a TW every hour. Just a constant TW for 24 hours. Best 13 outta 24 wins the territory.

I have nothing against getting rid of a TW day (except that the TWs on Friday and Saturday will have to be more spread out/take up a larger time all together to accommodate the Sunday TWs). But I'm almost positive there's at least some people that can only make it to the Sunday TWs-- so there goes their chance. Nothing is perfect. The servers are hosted in America. Server time is the time it is where the server is hosted. PWI primarily caters to America (even look at the payment options-- new options to pay from other countries are JUST starting to be added. Or the Chinese New Year, that, IIRC, didn't even get a mention by PWI.) It's just something to live with. And if you really hate it that much-- there's other versions. Feel free to move to them if you think that this is impossible to live with.

Also... please, curb the American-bashing. It's extreme stereotyping. Not every American is self-centered, not every American is stupid... etc. Some are. But then again, all countries have self-centered idiots. Not just the USA.

As for 4AM TW times, hell yeah! I'd be happy to have 4AM~5AM times. Then again, I guess I'm part of the small sliver of the population that doesn't sleep in 'till noon on weekends.

    On that note...

If you don't like waking up at 4AM for TW, then don't.
Hell, don't be in a TW faction then if that's the case.
Like its been said multiple times in this thread, even if times got moved ahead, or even behind a couple hours, someone would be QQ'ing about how its too late/early for them.

Simple solution to the person who made this thread, sleep earlier, or just don't TW.

Now tell me people asking for TWs to be earlier what would that accomplish?

You realize there are three TW slots 9 am 2 pm and 8 pm.

Moving back the clock would throw off any of those. Admittedly TWs could be banned for evening on sunday but afternoon TWs are worse then night TWs. Not enough of the economy is European for that to be viable at least not enough is European that is willing to get up on other days.

Another thing people who work or go to sunday school would be late for every afternoon TW.

I'm amazed this thread wasn't locked for the simple mention of the EU version of PW.

That aside, having played the EU version, I can safely say it sucks in comparison. Plume is empty on a daily basis and after playing the International version that sight quite simply scares me. Also, the translation absolutely sucks big ones.

So, as far as that is concerned, WaffleChan is right. If you want to TW so badly then you should move to the EU servers. But you'd have to put up with poor translation among other things for one simple aspect of the game. AKA not worth the trouble.

However, TW times do make little sense considering this is Perfect World International and not Perfect World America.

I've been savaging my body clock for about five nearly six years now and can change it within 24 hours easily. I can stay up late nights and then sleep the next night should I so want to. So... frankly, time zones don't bother me as such. I certainly wouldn't care to complain about one aspect of this game like TW.

I would say if that's the case, talk to me after I've stayed up 50+ hours, but that's possibly the wrong kind of fiesty. XD

May I actually suggest that, if you don't want to get up at 4AM for something, don't get up for it. Personal experience taught me how incredibly not worth it doing such a thing was.
