Hi Ragesh, it's Reikara. After getting to 90+ and you've done enough instances, even though you may not have played other classes to a high enough level you understand at least some of the other classes skills and their effects, especially the ones most important to keeping your squad alive.
Although I do have a BM alt, I don't think anyone's getting it. I was never reffering to ranged mobs to begin with, and stated that a few times. When you've got a BM in your squad, and a robed venomancer with low HP (2 hit kill), if he's letting a close range mob (melee) run past him and hit the veno then obviously something's very wrong.
It's happened so many times in the BH squads i've been in. Even if the mobs were ranged, all you need to do is make sure the veno is running further back so that the mob will reach you, stun it, then attack from behind it so it won't run back into more mobs.Reikara - 94 HA/AA Veno - Heaven's Tear - Retired

So far I have whole heartedly agreed with your complaints about the lack of catchage, be it a barb, bm, archer... other venos luckily tend to catch if they're awake. Most likely cause they know certain mobs have a tendency to hurt quite a bit, specially if the veno is arcane (as I am). I'm not even going to touch on the subject of them not knowing what mobs are melee, ranged, runners..
I've mostly given up on doing any random BH's due to the lack of knowledge, skill and general laziness of other ppl in the squad. They see a herc veno and suddenly I'm the one doing most of the work (lure, catch, tank) while they sit around wondering why it's taking so long. Or alternatively.. they manage to aggro half the mobs and then complain cause I can't catch all of them before they die. Meh.
The flip side of the coin is when trying to do a BH on an alt -> people rarely take advice or suggestions on how to do an instance when it comes from the lowest level in the squad. b:beatup0 -

heres few things that im sure of and maybe will help someone:
paralyse - stops mob at place where it is. you can hit it, it can hit you. just cant move - ideal for runners
sleep - seals the mob. it cant use skills, and cant take hits too: useful when you want to deal only with one mob at a time, useless for runners (first hit by anyone dispels)
stun: lovely stops mob in place, you can hit as much as you want. good for all occassions, pity it doesnt work on bossess
knowckback: perfect for open terrain, pushes mobs away from squishy. NOT used for runners - they just bring in their friends for party wipe that faster.
on that note: unwined stygean run. we didnt have bm so i tried to paralyze as often as i could... but someone was using knockback all the time, with predictable results at first it was: whos using knockback? then: stop using knockback! then: Aya, stop using knockback right now! (they knew i have it on genie) i was like wth by then, wasnt me, i was just paralysing, see purple circle?... turned out it was wizzy... she just used her standard macro and never noticed its HER skill that pushes mob back. how can 70+ wiz not know wop is a knockback????!!!![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I find it quite amusing, even a bit hypocritical, that a thread about sharing common knowledge, isnt actually sharing the common knowledge when the question is posed. Instead everyone continued on their trolling aggenda. b:chuckle
To answer the question;
Stun - Cannot use skills/attack and cannot move. Cannot be broken (except genies).
Sleep - Cannot use skills/attack and cannot move. Is broken when attacked.
Seal - Can move, but cannot use skill/attack. Also called Silence.
Freeze - Can use skills/attack, but cannot move. Also called Paralyze.0 -
