What's up with this? O_O

Nukesrus - Harshlands

So I'm on my level 66 cleric today, and some sin tried to gank me with his shiny new daggers. Judging from armor, he was high 50s, early 60s.

I could not see him on the minimap or T key, however, when he attacked I autotargetted him and was then able to kill him. He was still stealthed, however.

Is this intentional, or was I lucky? My 'sin friend seems to think this was a glitch. If it WAS a glitch, wouldn't that make sins invulnerable to counterattack from all classes provided they were a high enough level? O_o

Once a sin attacks in stealth mode, they leave stealth mode. So it's not a glitch.

I was under the impression that they had a skill that allowed them to stay stealthed even in combat. Why else would he stay invisible? O_O

In fact, I'm surprised it took this long for anyone to realize it would happen.


When attacked by any player/monster and you don't currently have something else targeted, the game automatically targets them for you. This means that, if a player had some form of permanent-invisibility maneuver, the instant they attacked you you'd be able to target them regardless of their skill. So while they will get the first strike, it doesn't mean you'd be unable to strike back.

Sins have two stealth skills.
One allows them to enter stealth mode. This has a short cooldown.
The other forces them into stealth mode, even if they're in combat, and whatever was targeting the sin loses the target. This has a much longer, 90 second cooldown.
So you're saying he was in stealth even though he was attacking you? That's not possible. As soon as he attacked you, his stealth mode ended. You were able to see him after that, correct? That means he's not stealthed anymore >.>

If what you mean is, you couldn't see him even though he was attacking you, then yeah... that's a glitch. I dunno what to say about that o.o

It's because he wasn't in stealth mode anymore, like I explained b:sweat

To confirm this:
I snuck up on a veno once trying to pk her. I found out she had a charm, and forced myself back into stealth to re-plan what I was going to do. She couldn't attack me anymore until I attacked again. Attacking from stealth forces you out of it, but you can force yourself into stealth while in combat. But either way, you cannot attack and be in stealth at the same time.

the only thing stealth does is guarantee u a first atk ( or if ur a high lvl u stun target which will definatly guarantee u a 2nd and 3rd atk. and if sleep maybe even a 4th atk. ya stealth is very useful if used correctly...)

but u cannot atk a target AND be in stealth. soon as u atk someone u become visible again leaving u open for a counter atk.

also...not a glitch...that auto target enemies which attack you has been out even before the expansion lol....
seriously try running past aggroing mobs without a preset target first.

I know about the auto attack... I was replying about how when the Assasin attacked Nukesrus, he was still stealthed, tell me how that's not a glitch? >.> pwned.

well the only way we'll know is if either nuke or the assassin has a video
or if the assassin verifies it.
