@ Op. I agree with a lot of what you said about it. There are many reasons why I am a solo player and have been for about 5 months and these are some of them.

Incidentally would you happen to be leader of your own faction? b:laugh

Well high lvls cant always help lowbies, they keep tell them to make their own squads, but many lowbies dont do that. They cant even start make their squad, they just wait when get high lvl person and ask them to get rest of party too. And those people who do listen higher lvls and try to form their lvl squads often fail cuz rest of their lvl players don't want that.

This is so true. It's not that I don't want to help, a lot of times a lowbie will as for HH or BH help and will assume that I'll put a squad together for them.

Sorry, I don't mind helping, but I'm not going to use all my time to form a squad just for you. I'll often jump into one to help tank or to DD, but using the excuse that high levels are only around to help lowbies get their stuff done is wrong. I have things I need to do as well, and who do I have to rely on? Me.

In my last faction, we had a number of people always begging for HH runs. What we did was tell them how to form their own parties to accomplish similar goals. Sure someone needed 1-3, and another needed 2-2.... and all day they would just ask... "anyone free for 2-2" or "anyone doing 1-3". What we did was say, hey, you're all in a similar level-range, and maybe you don't need *other HH instance* but if you help them, they'll help you. And you know what? We ended up forming two separate regular groups that farmed HH on their own. They ended up farming their own 80/90 gear, and only occassionally needed higher level help with stuff they couldn't do.

And they got help more often, cause instead of asking for someone to form a party for them, they would often only need one or two people to make a whole party.
I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.

Well I will say this : There needs to be shorter easier stuff for people to do. I don't know about you but I get bored if I'm donating what is comparable to a work shift to Forgotten Frostland because most of the time the people you help are afraid of dieing (it's a computer game come on), totally reliant on a barb doing everything for them or not even confident in their own abilities to get the stuff out of the way in a timely fashion.

It doesn't help that at the higher levels quests are only there for amusement... but only if the monster listed in the quest can be amusing.

Only way to level at higher levels is dailies really which tie up those people who could help lower levels but hey we're more motivated to fight the same monster everyday (BH) b:chuckle

Everyone will not be on the same thought process. Enelysion is the first/only big faction I've been in, and I love it. People leave often claiming they don't get enough help or people only think of themselves.

The problem there is when someone leaves, everyone in the faction automatically assumes "Oh, just a nub QQ'ing cause we didn't do everything for them" and leaves it at that. A lot of players are like that, but you'd be surprised about the number of friendly, helpful players who leave for valid reasons, reasons that are completely ignored and disregarded as "QQ", which results in more and more leaving, which can eventually make a faction fall apart.

Also, you can't help everyone all the time, but if everyone contributes a little for valid and fair help requests, everything becomes so much easier. A lot of large factions may have 180+ members, and maybe 100-120+ of them don't participate or help at all in any way whatsoever.

No lol. I used to be a director a long time ago, but I put a huge amount of work, time and money in, only to request for members to participate a little more and got told "helping and working for the faction is the officers job, you can't expect members to do anything. If the officers can't run the faction we members can just go find a faction that can"

I quit director and have never been an officer in a faction since.

Once we didn't even have BH or frost, and rb was still being figured out, and players hit 9x easily =p
This is so true. It's not that I don't want to help, a lot of times a lowbie will as for HH or BH help and will assume that I'll put a squad together for them.

Completely agree. Making a squad for a lowbie and running their BH isn't going to make them better able to help themselves. But if they were putting forth the effort to make their own TT squad and they were one or two members short for the run and no one was free, I'd have no problem helping out. Same as I'd have no problem donating mats from a faction bank if the player had put in a lot of work and effort themselves on the set and were a few mats short.

It should be about offering a helping hand not just about doing everything for them.

Nice discussion on this so far, is good to hear everyone's viewpoint. ^_^
