    I lol'd... coinage advice from someone who hasn't been in a fb51 b:laugh

    Simple truths:
1.) the higher your toon's level, the more coins-per-hour you are able to accrue
-to OP: based on the numbers in your post, I make more than your gross value in 3-4 hours... I don't spend countless hours in game because I spent my time efficiently.
2.) Buy low & resell only works when you have a huge amount of coinage to begin with (unless you're taking big gambles).
-If you're into playing the market (at the moment my 2nd favorite part of this game), the best way to do is to invest $20-30 in the game during a big sale and start from there (otherwise the time spent vending & flipping is just ridiculous).

10k for 2mil tome is gambling? sure thing.

Look, his gear is only worth 10mil. lets say 20mil to be nice for him. how much does a tt 90 spear cost? lets say the one with purify?

    dust of star x8= 8mil
    giant beast's armor x8= 20mil
stone of sacred temple x16= 0.160mil
    ultimate substance x12= 1.02mil
soul edge (lets say free even though it obviously isnt)

thats just 1 weapon. your way too low lvl to know how much stuff is worth.

There's no way for me to ever become lvl 90, not even close. I'm pretty sure I won't ever be even lvl 70. 6x is possible tho not sure sure about that either. I have gotten like one level in the last three weeks for my BM because I started playing veno and now I don't feel like leveling my veno either. Not going to roll a tideborn either, just my cleric in PvP server. Who also won't ever be over 5x, or if so something really wierd has to happen.

I didn't say I was giving up. So what if I'm not the highest level. I could start oracling my **** up and being lvl 70+ fast. What would that help? I've known it since lvl 30 that I'm progressing slowly compared to others. I thought games were for entertainment, but guess not then.

Kupuntu you are soo soo true but will lazy people who are just greedy for money and refuse to work for it listen b:chuckle
So, let me introduce myself. I'm Kupuntu, lvl 42 BM. Some of you might know me from the forums or in-game. Many ppl say that making money is hard. I think not. I have two characters: lvl 42 BM and a lvl 41 veno in the Sanctuary server as my sig says. The things I have NOT done for my money:

    - grinded for money, 95% mobs killed have been for quests.
    - farmed mats for money more than what I've seen when questing
    - used cashshop or bought zen
    - scammed ppl
    - took donations (expect for one flawless cit, it was dropped by some quitter in Plume)

So, now I have plenty of money. I can't remeber for sure (can't login now) so here are the things I remember:

coins: 300k in my BM and 700k in my veno
weapons: 100k for ***Bloodstained Battle Scythe and 1mil (?) for sharded Mirage Sword
armor and other equipment: nothing special, just some legendary rings for the total of 100k
fashion: chain boots and pants, around 450k and 850k
aerogear: normal ones and Blood Mist around 1,5mil
tomes: Retribution's flame is lvl 1 mag tome, around 2mil
chi stones: worth 1.5 mil or something (1k perfect stones and other stones around 300k-500k)
    herbs and mats: around 500k-800k
other: oracle IX's, 8 of them, 60k-80k each, 480k-640k total

Total worth: At best, 10mil but I'd say it's closer to 6mil-8mil if I sold all.

I have played this game for countless hours, just like most of you. Instead of levels, I have gotten plenty of money. I used to resell teles, but then that business dried out, so to say. I know this amount of money is nothing compared to higher levels, but most of the ppl around my level don't have this much money. Say what you say, but this is an easy game to get money on. Now, comments? (This is not a bragging post by any means.)

LOL I so know that. Every time I see, for example, Wizzeled haters writing QQ post, I know that when Wizzeled reads that text he will be laughing his **** off at home. Or, that's what I would do if I was hated for being a cashshopper.

He's not hated for being a heavy cash shopper. Most people do not hate BigP, or Temp, or Vernom, or Goosey for example.

I'm not going to get into why so many dislike Wizzeled, but just saying, it certainly ain't because he cash shops

I am glad he is not giving up and no need to lvl fast either. Because most of the ones who lvl quickly have no skills and die pretty quickly. Imagine being a lvl 86 going into a cave with lvl 39 kills and the lvl 86 get dead. see no skill they should be able to level the whole cave. Not trash truth b:chuckle

Probably been said before but, making money isn't the problem, everyone can usually afford npc stuff, crazy stone etc..

The problem is (same here as on my-en) anniversary packs have kickstarted a kind of goldrush. The cash shop offers better equiptment than most people are capable of farming (or not capable of farming at all), when they came out people were either put off PW completely (Me), thought it wouldn't affect them (short sighted people) or driven into a gold charging/buying frenzy in which peoples greed and ego sent them on a spending spree.

This as you noticed sent gold to a semi-permanent 4x/5x it's usual price. Many people became reliant on the fair maintainable gold prices of 100-200k, thinking nothing of buying charms/ eso's/GA like candy to help them grind and make their money. The inflation broke this and now people's/PW's greed has basically ruined a lot of the economy.

Gamma's are dying out or dead on most servers as very few are able to buy charms, before even at 170k/gold a run would pay for itself in terms of repairs and charm burn. but now an inexperienced barb can become practically broke after 2-3 runs.

Serial Zen buyers, gold investors, Dominant Faction members, PWI etc.. all benefitted from this, so most don't see the issue. The rich and powerful became richer. Those who were trying to level hard to level 90 etc.... people unable to buy zen or unwilling to buy and those who investted in anni packs only to have bad luck got majorlly screwed over. Due to the massive cost of gold items (esp charms), most are unwilling to do much, such as TT, RB and BH's. Some have given up trying entirely to advance in any way shape or form.

There's also no feasible money sink to fix this as it would no doubt cripple the poor further, the other option (Which has been explored by PW recently) is increasing drop rates, although 2x is pretty low considering the amount gold has risen by they have to be careful because increasing drop rates too much will cause a hyper-inflation effect, with gold prices rising to ridiculous amounts.

A possible solution would be to increase drops and implement an effective cash sink at the same time, but I'm not even sure if this would work.

    Can't be arsed writing more.

Buying low and selling high IS scamming. You are scamming players by buying things that others would need but now can't afford because you bought it just to sell it for more.

YOU WON'T EVEN PAY YOUR OWN PRICES, WHY SHOULD ANYONE ELSE?!

Merchanting is not scamming. To scam is to profit through deception and cheating. Buying an item for 50k and putting it in your shop for 100k isn't deceiving. The price people see are the price people buy. No deception there.

This is how every merchandising business in the world functions. They buy goods and resell at a higher value. In fact, if this wasn't the case, no supplier would ever supply any good. Why would anyone want to go to all the trouble of providing goods and services if they don't have the incentive of profit?

In the end, goods trade at market equilibrium. Prices will influence the behaviours of producers and consumers so that the market will meet at a point in which both producers and consumers are happy to trade at said price and quantity. If people don't buy your items, quite obviously you would have to lower your prices. The fact that you price your items at a higher price, and people still buy means that they are willing and able to do so, and following the optimal purchase rule, they are actually reaping utility from their purchase.
