    Got my first Sage skillbook, thus cementing my decision. ^_^

    In the end. it wound up coming down to...

    1.) Triple Spark - I won't deny the fact that the -Channeling on the Demonic Eruption is beyond awesome, but the added defenses of Celestial mean I can go a bit more crazy and not have to worry about dropping in 1-2 shots if I pull aggro. Plus...it's another defensive maneuver to add to the already fantastic array that we Clerics get.

    2.) Sage Chi >>>>>>>>>>> Demon Chi for a carebear like me. Right off the bat, I get another VERY useful technique, as opposed to one that would be completely worthless (for a non-pvper). More sparks = more options.

    3.) Ironheart - To be totally honest...I thought about this one long and hard. And at the end of the day, I think a tank would be more appreciative of the fact I can spend less time spamming heals and more time working on keeping his repairs/charm ticks down (or at least, tanks I work with on a regular basis at least). They've gotten along just fine keeping their MP up without my help this long...they can certainly continue to do so in the future.

    4.) Wellspring - Faster emergency heal beats 2 more Chi, without question.

    5.) Vanguard Spirit - Same add-on as Demon Stream...but infinitely more spammable, which adds to it's overall versatility. Oh, and it's available 10 levels earlier. Yummy proposition to a lazy bones Cleric like me that's not obsessive compulsive about leveling fast.

    6.) Magic Shell - Spammable -Channeling buff...*Drool*. Maybe not quite as nice as 150% magic attack, but again available several levels earlier. Not to mention less than half the MP cost. Very nice.

    7.) Celestial Guardian's Seal - The Sage effect is pretty much worthless in the face of so many other heals (at least according to Ecatomb). Saves me 1mil spirit and the price of the book. Woot!

    8.) Spirit's Gift - Demons definitely get the better end of the deal here...but the MP boost is still respectable in it's own right. Better still, it's an add to an already useful buff that can be beneficial to everyone, as opposed to just casters.

    9.) Revive - I would have prefered the faster cast to be honest...but the range is certainly nice too. And I love the fact that I can save a friend ALL of their EXP if they die. A nice way to apologize when I couldn't keep them alive.

    10.) Chromatic Healing Beam - More healing is nice. But the added range helps this skill do it's job better without me having to risk getting into range of an AoE more than I have to.

    11.) Seals - I've managed thus far without having to rely on less time in the debuffed state...I can continue to do so now in exchange for lengthened effects.

    12.) Plume Shot - More spammability is better all around, but I can certainly live with higher damage per shot.

    13.) Razor Feathers - Again...more spammability or wider area? I would have preferred access to it more often, but hitting more things with it is still nice.

    14.) Great Cyclone - The biggest thing I love about this move is that it helps keep things away from me while I pound them into the ground. Damage is nice...but a longer and stronger slow effect is better, since I only care if the damage would be enough to kill things in less hits.

    15.) Siren's Kiss - Less cooldown...or a chance to cast without spark. I love the move, but don't exactly spam it...I'll take the chance to get a 'freebie' and save a bunch of chi.

    16.) Wield Thunder/Tempest - Despite having AWESOME adds on the Demonic versions...the fact that you get them so late made them almost a non-factor. And even IF I won't be pumping out huge Metal hits, or freezing an entire group for further beatdowns, I'll be gaining/saving more chi in the long run, thus granting access to more big hits. I can live with that.

    17.) Metal Mastery - I'm not exactly geared for critting like a maniac...and when I do it usually means something's going to eat me and I'm more tense than excited. I'll take the smoother, easier to manage increased damage route thanks. XD

    18.) Stream - Probably the last thing I was thinking about. Demon wins hands down...but the fact that the added Chi would keep me better stocked with sparks wasn't exactly unappealing. And in conjunction with other skills...I can accept the trade-off.


    TL;DR version: The Demon skills that appeal are awesome, but the Sage skills just seem to fit me and my playstyle better. b:cute

    noob cleric question: do NOT read more if you are a good cleric..

    so if sage gives a higer metal damage and fast chi regen wont it be better for pvp because it gives:

    sparks for ulti to bypass charms
    spark eruption for spike
    spamable plume shell and sleep
    better heals

    confused.....

    1) Log on- do gem daily - log off..

    2) Catshop- do gem daily - Catshop...

    Get to 99 like the pro's! b:cool

    I think it all depends on how you play & what skills you mostly use when u pvp
    then look at the database & which would be more useful to u & possible of getting...

    preference i think. Think of demon cleric as 'spike' dmg and sage cleric as 'constant dmg'
