And how do they get to have those egos? I cannot possible be because they fight with no gear..... and no upgraded skills.....

    That... sounds like a challenge.

Archer with only starting skills (Take Aim and Quickshot?) at lvl 1.
Pots only from drops, Supply stash and crafting.
Gear only from drops, Supply stash (lower levels) and crafting.

Is it permissible to buy a Pickaxe, or would you disallow that?

How about spending coins on Crazy Stone?

Gold prices will be 500k within a few months.

Look at it: Gold prices were 130-140kea aproximately. Then they started going up a little due to sale after sale after sale. Then Jolly jones came out raising gold prices to ridiculously high levels. (high for the time as in 200k+ea)

Then that ended and the gold price lowered a little but the constant barrage of sales ensured that the gold price would never return to it's previous level.

Then come these anniversary packs. Gold prices go insane shooting up to 400,450, sometimes even over 500kea for gold at its lowest level. And of course for this month that this is going on there is STILL a constant barrage of sales, not only do we need to deal with these anniversary packs raising the price but we also have "oh look dragon orbs!" "Oh look super rare mounts!" And they finally remove the anniversary packs as we all look forward to the price dropping, of course we can't have that, so we need a sale on mijis THE DAY AFTER THEY REMOVE PACKS. But hey miji's these days are considered to be not that important due to the high cost.

So now that the event is over the lowest price I see to sell gold on Lost City right now is 347,900 each.

The gold price will CONTINUE to rise until we eventually have gold prices comparable to the prices on the Malaysian servers.

The community has been IGNORED in it's requests lately. We have asked for a break from sales, that was ignored, for something to be done to help lower the gold price, as you can see, that will not happen. I garuntee that by this time next year we will be looking at 600k+ for gold.

Funny how everything comes full circle. I remember all the complaints just about a year ago were over the extremely high price of gold, but it was the other way around - too expensive to buy it with real money. Every thread had this same theme: "The community is being ignored." But, we all got used to coins having a much higher value (in terms of the real life currency conversion rate) than other servers. And so, now, we have people making the same complaint but from the other side of the transaction.

The fact is, as much as people would like to get more for their money (or for their time as the current complaints all run), the exchange rate does a pretty good job of balancing supply and demand. The gold price was pretty darn close to the actual coin value of an anniversary pack during that event, after all. Now, prices will drop back to the new balance. But, first, you have to wait for the supply of gold to adjust. Anyone with any sense sold any gold they planned to sell before prices fell. That's why there was (maybe still is) such a huge gap between the buy and sell bids in the gold market right after the event ended. Nobody was putting in new gold at the new price level cause they had planned ahead. The new price level will sooner or later settle down to the 200K range established by the coin chests (probably just a tad below that since some chest trades have to happen for the market to clear through chests).

Now if the economy is given time to recover then yes I believe you are correct.

However I have this feeling that there will be no shortage of sales in the upcoming weeks.

    You are onto something.
You can buy anything from NPCs and use gear only from drops/crafted or from quests.

CS would be ok I guess, as long as you make your own stones.

Oh, I was not even considering that. I assumed you'd have to craft everything. Buying white gear would make things somewhat easier.

So it is possible to farm your own TT gear, use quest gear, and craft regular items.

Crazy Stone, World Quest, and Dragon Quests are still available.

Archers mainly use normal attacks anyways, but you have none of your passive skills. Which would suck. A lot.

Especially because you cannot buy Spark =(

I guess we could have a "easy" mode where you can buy things from the NPCs, and a "survivalist" hard mode, where you cannot buy anything from anyone, not even npcs, you would have to use only items found, made or given as quest rewards.

You have to allow the pickaxe, though, right?

I mean every survivalist has a pickaxe.

I'll assume you are allowed to pay coins for equipment repairs.

But what about ammo? Pet food?

At least you can buy a mount in "easy" mode.

Hard Mode: No repairs. Unless you figure out a way to do it yourself that does not cost coins. You are not allowed to use coins for anything. Everything you do has to have no coin cost associated with it. Except for the pickaxe.

Medium Mode: You are allowed a couple of interactions with a coins cost. You can get a pickaxe, you can repair your gear, shard your gear, get a horse from the npc, as well as sell any extra items.

Easy Mode: You are allowed to interact with NPCs to buy and sell items, and repair. That includes the NPC sold horses. You are allowed to get skills with coin made from looting or selling loot to npc.

    - How about real quests that involving paying an NPC?

    - I forgot: do you need to pay coins to get the lvl 30 mount?

    - What about GM-events where you buy an item from a GM catshop for 1 coin?

Also, apparently you can craft arrows. 2 logs and 1 coal dust...

Under hard mode I would have to say you cannot use coins for anything.

You do not need coins for the level 30 aerogear, only 10 DQ items (dull claws I think, for untamed)

Why are you supporting the greedy coin sellers, they are the ones that cause this all mess to start with.

Jade drops ingame, you could avoid the coin cost. Until it comes time to train the skill level.

However, you might want to rethink the repair thing. Armor doesn't drop at a high enough rate for it to be replaced before it breaks, especially for barbarians. Furthermore, weapon drop rates from mobs are quite low. Essentially, no one would have weapons. The lack of repairs is basically saying you run around naked aside from occasionally 1-2 pieces of gear. Allowing specific coin uses would be a good thing such as weapon/armor repairs, pet food (maybe), decomposing (3*), adding/removing from the pet bag, and so on.

That's what I meant. In order to go up a crafting level, you need to pay the Elder (or NPC for Apothecary) some coins.

Yeah, hard mode would be more like "insane mode". Medium mode I could do since I didn't spend any coin getting any armor or weapons until my TT90 LA. (and that was just for the mats and cause I decided to go LA instead of Arcane so didn't start getting the mats until way too late). Having no pet food would not make it fun to be a veno though.

Well, that is why it is HARD mode :)

If it was not hard it would had been called medium and easy mode.

Although, except for the insane challange of hard mode, I think that medium mode is actualy realistic to be able to make it to high level. Specialy if we were to agree to allow skill leveling. Lots of us leveled this way before hercs....

Think so, as long as they are not competing MMOs.

Well, I think Medium mode would be fun, and still hard (for nowaday standards... this is out everyone played when the game first came out).
