you can play the lower levels for free, but if you dont want to crawl your way around the map, you have to buy mounts/aerogear,and with AH gold as high as it is, its actually cheaper in the long run to buy zen with RL money...b:cry but man, that costs almost as much in RL problems.

I think what's funny is that while everyone says the negative parts of the game (with good reason), spoons just takes his time to remove mentions of other games (who know what they're doing) and make jokes about calling pw a drug. Can you say anything about the games problems, spoons? Or is that as tedious as removing mentions of other games?

Honestly, if you'd like to come back, I see no reason not to.

Sure, the gold prices are through the roof and useing ingame coins is pretty worthless. Sure, the GM's have some glitches to fix, but think of the work they have on their hands. They're updating the game immensly, adding two new classes and a large chunk to the map. Now, maybe players who know nothing about making games feel GM's have the time to take interest in fixing a rubber band glitch (which you die from, call a cleric, get a res, big flipping deal), but they have alot on their plate. I'd love for them to fix EVERYTHING too, gold prices are crazy, but it's not going to happen anytime soon. Especially because their main interest is money, and the whole reason the game is "crashing" is because of all their sales and events with the cash shop.

The game is still fun, but people take it too seriously.. You don't HAVE to pay to "win." Sure, if you'd like your 9x gear full of perfect shards and that cool mount or flyer, pay. But that's want. Not need. You can play the game just fine without buying up the best gears you possibly can get your hands on, and still have fun. People with the idea of paying to win are just the ones who feel they NEED to be the best.

So I'd say if you just want a fun game to play..play again.

But a word of advice, if you hate getting killed, I'd consider rolling on a PvE server. PvP servers, you do die often, but to me, thats the fun of the game!

I'm not as massively rich as some of the big spenders, but since just before Jolly Jones started I went from 8million coins to 180million coins without spending any money. So you're right, you don't HAVE to pay to win.

So why all the QQing? The way I look at it, anybody can compete without having to spend a dime. But that's not what people want. They don't want to compete, they want to win.

I have decided to return when the new expansion comes out. I will start a Tideborn char on a new server. However, I was VERY close to quitting once and for all due to A LOT of negative feedback. Now another question: Why so many negative feedback? I would expect negative feedback from another game community. But from the games own community a bit shocking really.

It comes down to expectations and assumptions. We, the players, all expected that hard work by spending time grinding etc.. will be rewarded. We assumed the game economy would be reasonable because that is what we got used to when we started playing. Our expectations were crushed when the items we worked so hard for can be easily acquired using real money. The game economy that we were used to were dramatically turned upside down when the gold bug happened and PWI didn't roll back. It then got worse and worse as more rare items that require alot of work were put on the cash shop...ie the dq horses. But despite all that alot of ppl still stuck around...till they came out with the anniversary pack that had everything from the best end game gear, high grade gems, rare mounts, etc.. These can acquired by...you guess it...cash shop.

Of course people will say you don't have to buy the packs and you can still enjoy the game. Well what they didn't tell you would be that gold prices are driven insanely high because of so many people wanting the packs that charm prices, guardian angels, and any other useful items become unaffordable. When we joined we were used to lower priced gold and charms...then we can no longer have them and it pisses alot of ppl off. Some say it's due to player greediness that drove up the gold prices...but let's face it. It's human nature to want the best and when PWI put that bait in front of ppl's nose of course they will bite. If someone offered you a chance to acquire the best gears in the game for a dollar...wouldn't you grab it?

So there is why...sorry for the long post.

lol says who? I managed to get from lvl 0 to lvl 99 in about 10 months (yeah i started at the begining of decembre) without spending 1 dolar in this game. I copied what others were posting here in the forums, so I can't take full credit. Basically, it was buy-low, sell-high -> repeat. b:victory

Events/sales like Battle Pet Pack sales, Jolly Jones, Pigment Sales and Anniversary Packs are the real big money makers. They let you take whatever money you have and multiply it again and again.

The trick is that people get upset at high Gold prices during events like these, so they refuse to buy it. But then they see the event items themselves at drastically lower prices than normal, and so they buy them! That means you can buy the Gold, make the items for people, and then sell the items for 15% above the cost of the Gold to make them.

It's kinda crazy, but even in cases where I've told people flat out that I'm charging them 15% above what they could be paying if they bought the Gold themselves, they still insist, "No, I don't want to buy Gold. It's too expensive. I'll just buy from you instead."

So, yeah, that's my secret. Feel free to copy!

yep they want the easyness of having charged zen but they don't want to actually charge zen and they don't want to play the game fully as it was made to be played.
me am completely okie with playing it as it should be played (with lots of pain and dying to elite boss monsters who can 1 hit k.o me.) *stares at jewelscalen*

caused by the recent releases

there's
a new daily(bounty hunter quests)

More mounts available in cash shop

other mount prices have gone down(polar bear mount is now only 5 gold)

we can get lunarglade and warsoul weapons now
though they're very expensive to buy or make
(i don't think anyone has a warsoul yet ;P)

uhmm the skill slots have increased to 9

There's a new expansion coming soon with new areas a new race
and two new classes

True, you dont need to cash shop to win but you need cash shoppers to win.

Without ppl that spend real money for in game stuff we - the ppl that dont pay - wouldnt be able to refine stuff or get mounts or fashion, and as usually cash shoppers are lazy ppl that dont like to farm TT for their stuff so we sell them TT mats we grind and they cant get from cash shop... thats how the economy gets ballanced... and as you can see when gold price went up, TT mats price went up too... No point if you dont want to be competitive, if you dont want like 2k extra hp or if you are completely limited to pve

What's the point of having mount's?

No point if you wanna spend 75% of your gaming time flying or walking at 0.5 speed or spend 100k daily for teleports.

Well just because cash shop users have money doesn't mean they all don't work for what they want I know people who are cash shop players and they say buying TT instead of going to TT is for sore losers.

I don't see a real reason for refining for a weapon because it just seems useless to me.

I don't need a mount I got 2 skills that allow me to travel fast I still see no reason to have a mount unless you want to stand out and act all cool.

Girls really care that much about fashion even if it's virtually man I guess it really is true Guys can't read a Girls mind.

I really dont consider cash shopper some1 that once in a while spend 5 $ for a HP charm, imo cash shopper = some1 who usually sell gold for coins. And believe me ive heard so many times after i bought like 30-50 gold from some1, " yay ty finally i can go buy my TT mats for weapon". I dont generalize but 90% do this, and i dont say it as it is a bad thing... if all would farm TT to whom would we sell the mats? Also if all would buy gold to whom would they sell the gold? ... are u getting the point or not?

Yes refining it is useless for you at lvl 62 when 8 lvls later you get new weapon. But at lvl 90+ when u get ur end game weapon and there is no other accesible weapon all u left to do is improve you current one by refining ... are u getting the point?

Uhm u have 2 skills to speed you up... nice! well clerics dont have, you know? oh and with those 2 skills of yours try to get from DWP to misfortune or 1k stream... fast for a trade ... oh sry u didnt make it in time ... i waited 15 min and some1 came faster ... oh sry its not my fault u have lvl 30 quest wings... you couldve payed like 10k to get faster ... are you getting the point?

No comments on fashion... theres another competitive world of fashion show off, which guys will never understand b:chuckle
