Why No More New Day Announcements?

I was just wondering why the GMs did away with the day announcements on Dreamweaver. Sure they were repetitive, but they helped me to realize when I could go back to Arch and begin my next Crazy Stone quest. Just decided it was time someone said something (that is, if no one has said anything before). If anyone else on other servers has noticed this, it would be interesting to find out your position on it. b:victory

    Same on HT, idk why its gone though. Yea I saw it as a friendly reminder for CS and WQ. lol

    Maybe because they were obnoxious and all people did was complain about them, at least on Sanctuary wc anyway.

    nah they wernt that bad what most ppl were complaining about was the stupid double post announcements liek go to pwi.perfectworld.com or alt click to use auto navigation

    i didn't even notice that o.o; yeah it'd be nice to have them back as a reminder to do dailies :3 and the friday one (at least i think it was friday) made me lol =P

    They didn't really bother me at all, but I can remember seeing loads of wc spam almost every time I saw one. It's probably just complainers complaining, but I imagine they got rid of them just so people would have one less thing to complain about.

    there will always be gripers about everything, even something as innocuous as a morning greeting...they need to get up out of their chair and take a walk to enjoy a real day, instead of the artifical one in the game. some of us, housebound by health problems, only can look out windows to see the new day, and a nice 'hello' from the GM is very nice in the mornings, especially if you have been up all night, unable to sleep because of pain, sick child or other problems.

    Apparently not everyone was complaining...Oh well, I guess the GMs have to do what they believe is best for the gaming community, even if that means upsetting or disappointing a few people along the way.b:surrender

    I completely agree...there should be no reason why they would have to stop doing them...I for one laughed every time the one for Tuesday came up..."It's Tuesday today...nothing good on TV tonight..."

    I think that the day-change announcements should be brought back...the worst that could happen is people QQing over that. That's only if they're finished QQing over the horse mounts being sold in the Cash Shop. So what could bringing back the announcements bring? That is, what bad things?

    I think they should just try to write a new one every day, then people won't complain about it getting repetitive...

    I always liked the new day announcements. They let me know it was CS time and were often a bit funny. The announcements I could do without is "Some-Person-You-Will-Never-Know acquired the Hercules/Blazing Phoenix pet egg"...Like...So what? Is there a reason 'I' need to be told that said person I really do not care about got some pet egg or other?...It happens all the time, it is not like it is rare or unusual or something...If you want to scream an announcement for player achievement tell me when they become Sage or Demon at least that is an accomplishment. (The getting hitched message is fine too)

    Ok, now that we have all weighed in on this, can we have a GM or mod explain to us why there is no more announcement? Did it simply become too much for the GMs to handle with the live chat system, or has it been removed due to player complaints? Or is there another reason altogether?

    Lets see.. no more new day greetings from PWI hmmm my guess is they are NOT busy fixing the flying pets sticking into the ground, cleric buffs that don't last the stated time, some kind of jump bug I just heard about, or the new rubberbanding that has started since last weeks Quest for Cash update.
    (Too many things unfixed to list so fill in your own annoying bugs)

    This game used to be fun but now its more then evident that the company that runs it has been over come with greed and there will be no more enhancements to game play only nerfs and more sucking sounds. b:surrender
