HH80 Golds at lv 90

At 70, if I don't end up getting Calamitys, and end up getting thunderbolts and end up making hh80 golds at lv 80, could I use them at lv 90?

yes, i find TT80 gold really effective, they arent much worse than TT90 green, all youll need to do is refine them to +8-+9. it will tide you over till you get your GX. (get tt80 gold instead of calamity, in pvp, the boost you get from TT80 gold at even +5 > berserk every 1 in 5 hits.)0

Cudgel is an ok dirt cheap wep (~150k on sanc), altho I still prefer seeing axes on a furball.
That being said however, calamities are THE best pvp wep until GX axes. And gl getting a pair of those.b:dirty0 -

Could I grind with a Calamity at lv 70~80? I always have life powders on, so would that make up for the lost hp? And about what 'Whoisthis' said about refine hh80golds to +5 and it doing more damage than calamitys when they zerk 1 in 5 hits..... what happens if I also refine calamitys to +5?

needing to rely on crit / beserker in PvP just shows you have no skill and just rely on luck...
I hate beserker.. a loss of 5% of my HP is far more damaging to me then doing a double hit on someone else.. unless lucky zerk-crit or geddon-zerk... but again, why rely on luck? TT80 Ape is all i use...0 -

to be honest....unless you have a +10 and above u will have a hardtime kill someone ( assuming the other side realize aware of your offensive ) without berserk weapon.0

pvp is about spike damage, and barbs need damage more than other classes[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]youtube.com/Angelolwut0 -
okay so i get that calamitys are the best weapon to pvp with in most peoples opinions (next to GX, but I probs will NEVER get GXs), so could someone plz answer the question about:
if griding with calamitys with life powders on will sovle the constant hp drain problem with Calamitys, zomg i also realised, whatabout Tree of Protection, would LIfe Powders and Tree of Protection sovle the hp drain problem?

Actually i have... and sure, PvP may be about spike, but a double hit at the cost of 5% HP is NOT WORTH IT when you lose 900HP yourself by doing so (5% of 18k HP)... now if it were an archer already dealing an insane amount of dmg before being zerked and only losing 5% of their 4k or whatever HP then sure it'd be an awesome attack..0 -

sure you can grind with them. depending if you're in human or tiger form, you will still need to use up alot of pots to do so. as opposed to grinding without them you just tiger and sunder and never need pots or powders. slower it may be, but more efficient and money conserving.0 -

Really? Consider this. If you lose 5% HP for a berserked hit, I'd guarantee you will take away MUCH MORE than an additional 5% of the opponent's HP. For some odd reason theres quite a few calamitys floating around on HT. Usually 3-4 in auction house. Even price has dropped to 3.5mil now.
I used to have a set of calamities+5. Sold em off and got me a set of lion kings now. The reason? Too much HP eaten while grinding.
Don't get me wrong they are THE BEST for PvP (I miss mine now when I go up against someone). Nothing comes close to them in terms of damage, and in PvP where charm burn is an acceptable cost, its all good. Their HP bonus is also awesome and if you have a cleric healing you the zerk is hardly noticeable.
But as far as solo grinding goes, I didn't like them. The problem is zerk occurs a bit too often while grinding. I have chained 4-5 zerks on occasion. Thats a straight 25% hp loss (3k+ in my case) couple that with 4 mobs on you = charm tick. And I didn't like that happening too often in grinding.
I am more often grinding than PvPing (carebear remember b:chuckle), so for me it wasn't working out as being worth it.

Against a robed class, yeah, thats a given. But against BMs or other barbs I think it doesn't work out so well. A crit berserk, now thats just plain awesome though.When the going gets tough; Get a tank!

From another thread I've posted about Zerk and Gloom, someone said that the chance of Zerk activating is 15%.

Dont know about the actual % chance, but its a hellofa lot more than 15%. Berserk hits roughly once every five attacks, and quite frequently, even more often.When the going gets tough; Get a tank!

On my BM i used to zerk at least 1 per mob.. Some times it was a chain of zerk that was crazy on my hp0

umm when i grind i don't use an hp charm coz of Tree Of Protection and i've got TONS of life powders. So would griding in zerk be that expensive with both of them activated? (I've also got heaps of Perfect Stones).[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I was also told from an experienced player that the zerk was 15%. Sounds good enough. Zerk is alright for grinding at the 7x, but you'll have to + them more at 8x, otherwise the Spike damage doesn't compensate for the overall lost damage.0 -
ditch calamaties and get TT80 gold. then if you wanna go GX, go star axes until then. if not go beacon axes, then decomp to make DD TT99 Gold axes.0

Welll I grind fine with Calamities +5... You kill everything faster... As some mentioned sure you go trough more HP then usual but if your using those things I bet it'd be easier... The resale value on Calamities are high so it's not like you'd take a loss trying them out.
The real question is Kill fast meditate (w/o charm, apoth, tree of protection)
or kill slower w/o need to meditate as often.0 -
TT80 gold on barbs suck nothing personaly but why does a barb need crit?The crit is not useless but barbs are not Bms who crit much more.Calmity axes are the best yeah you lose a lot of HP but can you get any HH for grinding?When you do double dmg you get almost the same dmg when some1 hits you or a little bit higher but you hit hit once like twice.I duel a barb mine lvl he had thundebolths and i calmity i killed him i done double dmg several times my HP was going down but his HP was much faster and i won i had left 50% of HP.0

TT80 golds do so much more damage than calamitys, its more efficent than berserk. wait till you hit 85+ when barbs starting getting 9/10k hp in human form. your gonna take more hp from urself than calamities took from the other barb/ bm.0
