Jesus, I go to sleep for ONE night and someone feeds the damn trolls. I'll just repost this, and highlight a few key points for all the little people that couldn't get ALL the key points. =_=

First, I would like to point out that, until a sticky is posted about the wonderful power of a phoenix and how it is/is not bugged, nobody is going to stfu about it. If my gf had a phoenix, I would do the simplest thing in the world, when she asked to duel. Say f*ing no. Is it really that hard? You see a veno, with a phoenix. Do your instincts scream 'We can pwn this noob'? If you are a slack-jawed monkey, maybe. When you play the game long enough to think you're god at level 50, you deserve to get spanked.

Second, until anyone can provide a single shred of physical, unaltered proof that something has been acknowledged, fixed, or simply changed, don't bring it to the table for conversation. Saying that you, your friend, your cousin, or your pet gopher saw a site/rant/sticky/flyer/memo on anything means...nothing. It means that the words you are muttering under your breath, as you type, are only useful as hot air. Accept it. Either back it up or pack it up. It's no good here. (Grats, Phoenix, you managed to get this part right, at least.)

Third, crying OP is about as sad as a player can get. I don't like the fact my knockback fails in PvP. Did I make a thread on it? No. Stfu and get on with your life. If you took on a person that paid $200+ straight out of their REAL pocket, or a person that paid 23m of hard earned coins, be prepared to get your **** handed to you. It takes some serious dedication to do what they did, just to get that damn thing. Don't think they are going to just let go and be gentle.

Finally, I don't see anyone complaining about the skill when the veno is using it to save your ****, only when they are handing it to you. The next time you bump heads with a powered up veno, sitting with a phoenix next to them, just be nice and thank them for a good match and pray to god they'll help you when you REALLY need it.

So, congrats go to the one person who scored a hit by ACTUALLY finding a post in which a GM acknowledged there was a bug. However, the rest of your posts are as useful to the rest of us as Pumpkin-head pill is to a Veno. So, congrats on failing at that.

I can see why Tearvalerin is pushed to near psychosis. Of course, I don't really see a post where that psychosis impaired the ability to form coherent statements. In fact, most of the posts I have run into, outside of this thread, have been fairly generous. Sadly, there are no grats to you, for cracking my post. However, you get my vote as a master debater, for points well presented and argued on many posts. X{D

Veekee88 gets props for never letting common sense, grammar, spell check, or the main point slow him down from insulting people as mindlessly as a stoned **** suffering from Turrets Syndrome. If not for you, this thread would have died, a victim of facts, cold wet logic, and a little common courtesy. Like a phoenix, you helped this thread rise from the ashes of its own corpse and continue on. I would give you a reward, but I can't really say what would be fitting.

OMGLAZERZ gets an honorable mention. What can I say, really? The guy's got a mean keyboard. He doesn't seem afraid to use it. He's already 1-up on common sense over most of the rest of the posters. If he reads this, keep it up.

If anyone is STILL reading this ungodly wall of text, you get props for endurance. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing. However, just so that I cover all of my basis, I am going to do a quote, here. It's from a GM acknowledging a bug, and it will be referring to either the phoenix, the skill, or the PvP. (Considering the skill doesn't do quarter damage on anything it isn't supposed to, I think that means PvP)
Quoted for truth. We are aware of the bug, and we have notified the development team about it.

BPD =/= multiple personalities, its a form of psychosis where drastical fits of mania are induced from being aggresive and harsh to crying like an emo wahwah child. youll notice huge variances in my posts, from anal arrogance, to complaining too much, to just plain being cold. to being helpful. i switch emotions on a whim and have no idea where they come from!

=\ Yeah, I wasn't really trying to be an **** to you. Phoenix just got props for being the first opposer to crack the post. I didn't mean that you were trying to. Rather, I didn't mean that you needed to. That one post was simply a nice salp in the face w/ a side of stfu to all the whiners.

you know whats funny, is people act like coding is soooooooo freakin easy and make stupid cracks about how easy it would be to fix this.

    WRONG.

My former MMO has a skill called warp portal, it lets you memo certain points on the world in order to teleport back there at the expense of a consumable NPC item.

Strangely enough, about a year ago after a major update, it started to have a glitch where it dropped memos when entering guild war GvG maps, which is extremely frustrating as the map in that game is HUGE. teleporting is the only reasonable way to travel to dungeons whether via ingame or priest's memo'ing.

Now, the bug has been going on for the past year, after many attempts and tests of coding and rewriting the skill, they still have not come to the conclusion why it drops memos on PVP maps. They cant figure it out! nor do they give any release on is status, its considered the equivalent of the flesh ream issue on RO forums, because thats what every other thread is whining about.

Give the dev team a break guys, and think about **** like this.

As a side note, I can guess how hard coding really is. I GM my own tabletop game, using MS Excel. There are times when I would rather drink dog puke mixed with acid, while sitting on hot coal than keep trying to fix that mistake.

A heads up to the team working on it...sometimes, the easiest way to fix a problem is to patch around it, to solve the problem on one end or the other, not in the middle.

The problem is that Flesh Ream is full powered, in PvP. This gives multple elements to work with.

The pet, the skill, the situation, the target.

Write a specific code to boost a players resistance to that one skill, while in PvP.

Write a specific code to lower that one skill, while in PvP.

Write a specific code to reduce the pets power, when using that one skill, while in PvP.

If the current code isn't working appropriately, you still have three more chances to patch the issue, while trying to solve the main problem.

I agree, at least with this game and quite a few of the other imported F2P MMOs out there. The devs on this side of the ocean are mostly stewards of game code written in Asia, making it a pretty safe bet that core changes to gameplay most likely won't occur unless the original devs fix it first.

I'm on a carebear server, and while I'll occasionally go white-named when I'm not too cheap to buy guardian angels, I'm fairly certain I've only been dropped by a phoenix/veno once. Archers have been much more deadly to me than flesh ream, easily. It's not a game breaking skill, and it isn't the death knell of this game, but it is annoying, and it is overpowered; however, there are a lot of other changes I'd rather see first.

When they broke the auction function with that one update, there was another "glitch" that occurred that I'd like to see implemented as a function of gameplay: with macros, if the timer wasn't up yet for the next skill in line, it would skip that skill and go to the one following it. It made using longer macros much more convenient, although it was 'fixed' when they fixed the auction house.

I'm sure a lot of Venos are annoyed about Bramble Hood, too, unless they fixed that one. I know it works in duels, but duels are usually irrelevant PVP in this game...
    >.> ive been diagnosed with extreme cases of both borderline personality disorder

That makes a lot more sense than, "You insulted my class, and it's everyone else's fault that I behave the way I do." You could've just said that to begin with and I'd have left you alone about it. Works well enough with my neurotic/psychotic friends/family members/self/etc. Helps to remember that someone attacking your class, your pet, or even your in-game character isn't attacking you, though. It's a game, most people will treat it as such.

Why does everyone have to accept that it's a bug when there is no official source stating that it is a bug?

BTW, chipsing, the day you decide to consistently post on your 70+ BM is the day I'll post on a character that levels.

With that logic, you can't consistently say that the flesh ream non-reduction damage was intended. Us "whiners" point it out because it is the only skill with unreduced damage in PvP. Every other skill, even pet skills, are reduced. So naturally, everyone would suspect it's a bug. But you're saying it's not because of lack of action from the GMs and because there's been no "official" announcement about it? I could also label that as "they're irresponsible." So who's right? No one knows. You can't use those as reasons.
And you know perfectly well when people say "nixes are ovp" that they mean flesh ream. So quit making a big deal when they say "phoenix" instead of "flesh ream." Phoenix comes with flesh ream, and has the highest attacking power, and therefore the highest hitting flesh ream. Thus flesh ream's brokenness becomes much more apparent with the nix. Proving such a technicality wrong doesn't change the facts.
Same goes to TearValerin and the others who say nix isn't broken: flesh ream damage isn't reduced in PvP along with everything else, you can't argue against that. Let complainers complain about it, but don't go around skewing the facts with "omg $200 pet should be strong! Go refine!": abilities should still follow the laws of the game, which are reduced to 1/4 power in PvP.

It's the damage reduction in PVP that's bugged. But only when it comes to a pet's Flesh Ream. But Flesh Ream isn't bugged. Just damage reduction. When using Flesh Ream with a Veno pet.

    I think.

    I am not so sure.

If pet flesh ream was bugged, then someone could get a low level wolf with flesh ream and duel with someone and compare their wolf's flesh ream damage with bleed damage from another class, right?

So... has anyone done this? (I have not done this, but I do not have enough time for this kind of testing. Other people have plenty of time.)

    I know some things though:

Bleed damage does not work like physical damage, especially when defenses get involved.

Except for pet bleed, bleed damage can only be increased by spending spirit points. Every class (except for venos) has carefully limited bleed damage.

Veno's pet bleed damage gets based on their pet's physical attack which can vary between pets. With level 5 flesh ream their bleed damage comes out much higher than anyone else's

Phoenixes fly really fast, and their flesh ream attack never misses.

So... is pet flesh ream overpowered? I think so.

Is pet flesh ream bugged? Maybe? But no one cares enough about this issue to bother running any tests. Instead, we get people flaming other people for daring to ask questions. Which, you know, is so productive and helpful.

For those of you just joining us, allow me to sum it up.

The defenders of the Blazing Phoenix acknowledge that the skill, Flesh Ream, is quite powerful. There is an acknowledgment that the skill may also be bugged. As the GM was not as specific as to state whether it was the skill or the PvP situation, we can only say there is a bug, in the mix. Also, the defenders have multiple defenders with a minimum of a high school diploma and, most likely, some college time. Basically, enough to have the common sense needed to carry on a decent conversation.

The attackers of the Blazing Phoenix vary in their testimonies, most claiming that the pet is over-powered. Many are actually ignorant of the class, the pet, the skills, and PvP rules. There are many that have an IQ over the 110 average, but they keep forgetting to break it down, for the new people. Thus far, only one has managed to build a case that the defenders can agree with. However, much intense language has passed back and forth.

Remember, don't feed the trolls with opinions. If you have something to contribute, make sure you bring numbers, screen shots, links to GM/Dev threads, and the fortitude to sit through the engagement until the very end.

    Recap-

    Phoenix is not OP.

Flesh Ream may be bugged/part of a bugged situation in PvP.

And Nix is a louse shampoo.

We all know enough to realise the pvp reduction doesn't work with fleshream and the devs may or may not do something about it,they know better than us that it is not getting the pvp reduction...
