    Nice guide,

On the Herc comparison with Magmite, the "Damage" stat is actually the "Accuracy" stat, quite an annoying typo in PWI.
    Heavens Tear
    Maliza - 8x veno
    CriticalMary - 6x archer
Maradishu - 5x cleric (only if needed)
Makito - barb 4x (in rest)

Edited. Put both with a slash seeing as people call them both frequently.
    Thanks ^^

weird question why is there a poll attached to a guide o_O?

and the skill is called flesh ream, theres no L in it.
also, do -not- say some users would advise getting roar on a herc, it doesnt hold aggro anywhere near as much as bash or FR, it has a fixed aggro rate, and is easy to steal aggrofrom. not only that it lowers his DPS by a buttload.

NEVER EVER GET ROAR ON A HERC PEOPLE!

NEVER EVER GET ROAR ON A HERC PEOPLE!

It's true some people do recommend that. This is an objective guide Tear. I've said that from the beginning. That means it takes all forums of observation and puts them together.
There is no universal one way to be a Veno. I give people the info, and they make the choices based on the data.

I am not writing this guide as a one way as a right way guide.
Hence it has both bash and roar up there with a preference geared towards bash.

However on the other hand I am not going to put every trend I see either.

Me personally I believe in the bash method on my Herc. But I am not writing this guide purely from personal opinion. It says in full. It is highly recommended you use bash, however some users decide to use roar.

I am not going to say. THIS IS HOW YOU DO IT. I'm going to give opinions and data.
It says high recommended if they don't want to head that. It's there choice.
    The key word is choice.

If someone is having a problem picking between the skills they are more than able to ask in this guide my personal opinion here or though a PM. But I am not going to put use Bash because I do and it's the best. They can make their choice.

However I do think this has brought to light. I need to list the attributes for both those skills in the next update.

Secondly I see no problem having a poll on a guide. It's just a opinion question. People all the time ask which is more popular. Is it worth it to get both. ect. This kinda helps give small glimpse on that.

Last thanks your right about the skill name I'll fix that.

I voted Herc but skimming through this has changed my mind as I was thinking about it.I will just stick with my Golem.
Looking for a decent casual understanding Faction.

I have a weird question maybe but here i go :

let's say i just happen to not like the face of the big yellow man ;)

and that I prefer my Shaodu Cub ...

Since it's possible to Find some of the Herc skills in dragon Palace ( if i'm not wrong )

taking my time to afford the cash for Reflect and Protect for the cub is a possible "replacement" for Herc ?( since the cub come with Tough already and Flesh Ream and i don't mind kicking out the pdef debuff and Pounce on him)

I've played my-en as LA Veno till lvl 63 quite nicely tanking everything i need with a cub and i love his equal Pdef/mdef.

It's more a "cosmetical" question , than a practical in fact.
by the time i gather the cash for the 2 skills + their lvling on the cub, i will probably have enough to afford the herc so :p

But i really want to give this a try, I remember Venos Soloing TT on cubinet version with Cub mainly ( Herc wasn't available yet when i was playing on My-En version )

Alright. The main point this. Yeah you could put the skills on the cub but there is no replacement for a Herc.. I myself have a Herc ,golem, and a cub. Love my cub half to death it's soo cute. However even with putting those skills on the cub. The problem is the stats.

    Herc :4135 2672 8952 7161 2297 1225 0.8 8.1

    Cub: 3149 1888 7594 7594 1649 1299 0.8 7.4

So perhaps if you put the skills on the cub it would be able to take some hits. However it would be a lot harder to do so than a Herc. It's a combination of skills and stats that make a pet.

So as the direct answer to your question. No. There is no replacing the Herc even if you pull the Herc's skills on the cub.

I know it's not the most attractive pet in the world however it's best you deal with it rather than paying out the price of a Herc and not getting the benefits of one.

shut up, Tear. and stop being so freaking nasty to everyone, and calling every thread a necro. if anything is a necro, its you and your black attitude toward everyone and everything here.

this is a great guide, and is the first that i have seen that actually is making me seriously consider getting a phoenixb:victory

Its not a guide at all, its called an FAQ. Its meant to answer general questions bout the pets, not like they need a ton of indepth info. Its a group collaboration meant to get rid of the repeat threads. My point, if you wanted more indepth information, you couldve just added to the group one already made, it just drives me nuts to see repeat after repeat and necro after necro.

Herc- The Herc is the best tanking Pet in the game hands down. This amazingly large looking gold Buddha looking like creature has the ability to solo bosses and hold massive amount of mobs. Rare drops anyone?

    Picture: http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a1...es/Hercule.jpg

    Skills

*Reflect (Level 5): reflect 70% of melee damage back at attackers.

*Strong (Level 5): Increase Pdef +150%

*Protect (Level 5): Increase Mdef +150%

*Pounce (level 2): Stuns target, and if stun connects increases attack speed by 25%

It is highly suggested that you replace Pounce with Bash to keep agro.
However some users decide to use Roar.

Can some 1 tell me what is the duration of the Buffs ? and cool down time also

    thank u 4 guide

    No.
The Herc only takes types of Meat
and the Nix only takes types of Hay.

The buffs last an hour each with each having a cool down of three seconds.
Pounce stuns for 3 seconds if successful and has a cool down of 60 seconds.

This guide helped me a lot since I got my Baby Hercules yesterday!

Two questions though, has anyone wondered why Hercules just randomly sits? It is amusing to me. Another herc owner jokingly said it's because he's so fat. He is a lot of fun and I am very glad I got him despite his expense.

Second question is, why are Nix and Hercules known as "Baby"? Other baby pets are well..small like real baby animals. I know Hercules not an animal and a buddha thing but just wondering lol. b:laugh

The Hercules is supposed to be like a deity, 大力神. So in reality it would be much bigger in size. Since the one we have as a pet is a miniature version of it, it's called "Baby Hercules." Phoenix is also a much bigger creature as described in mythology, (like the fly mount, or even bigger) and since this is a miniature version of it, it's baby phoenix.

RockSkin- Thanks so much. Have fun with teh budda and rub his belly.

CandyCaneNJ- Because he's a baby <3. He wants his belly rubbed.
Like Senesia said. There are considered deities and their real size would be really huge. There isn't a grown herc in the game but their are bigger nixes and as a mob.

    Senesia- Awesome explanation.

Hi Im sorry I havent read though this whole thread (and am typing this while very tired) and was wondering what to add for my fourth nix skill. Should I be adding the infamous Fleash Ream o_O or something else? Also should I ditch pounce and add something else as well as Fleash Ream? I wouldn't mind the hercs skill 'strong' but I dont know how to get a hold of it (Mrs.Zoo dosent sell it...I think). I have seen someone post a pic of thier magmite that they added it to.

Thanks for the great guide btw b:victory

I would add Flesh Ream. I would keep the pounce on the nix.
The skill(strong) can not be brought from Mrs.Zoo but there are other ways to get it but warning it is expensive or harrrrd to obtain.

phoenix doesnt need strong, it gets 9k+ def at my level, which is already a high enough reduction % for any normal outside mob. keep pounce, great for PVP.

Hi. I'm a lvl 53 veno and I currently have a lvl 53 lunar lupin. I'm thinking about buying a herc because I'm seriously tired of having to find help to do everything. Like right now, my spiritual cultivation is on hold because I need help with Frostcovered lands bosses Fugma, Kashu, Omnipotent Drake.

Anyway, my question is: would I be able to solo these kinds of bosses, the ones that arent fb. And, what lvl would I have to get the herc up to to be able to do this? And, would I eventually ever be able to do it on my own with my lunar lupin in later lvls?

Anyway, thanks for any answers. :)
