    GIMP is a full featured image editor that's as robust as PhotoShop. Plus, it's free! I also suggest that newcomers to this type of software read through some of the beginner tutorials that they provide on their site:

    yes gimp is good! I love photoshop, but its good for peeps who dont wanna spend the dough, by the way here are my entries....
