For those who want to design scrapbook looking layouts I found this cute free software:
http://www.smilebox.com/scrapbooks/
Haven't tried it yet but a friend of mine loves it.
Great job on your new entry Semy!!! Looks like you have another win in the bag for sure! b:laugh0 -
I was thinking of a diabloesque type design.... ^.^[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

Hahaha, no, just didn't feel like putting too much time in this one. I think this one was done in four or five hours, compared to the other two, which each took me a twelve to twenty-four hours respectively.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I did a little investigating. My first entry (which won in march) was 794.3kb. That's a LOT bigger than the restrictions for February (which was 256kb. I didn't submit an entry for Feb however).
I don't believe there is a file size requirement for April. There also didn't appear to be one for March either.
Or I hope not. My entry for April was 728.7k xD0 -

Ahh well, hopefully there isn't one then. I just don't want it to affect my chance of winning.

yeah there are no file size restrictions. Just restrictions on format and dimensions. that said, please try and keep your file submissions at a reasonable size. You'd be surprised to see how many submissions we receive for single .jpg's bigger then 5 megabytes.0 -

Thank you for clarifying. b:victory[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

is april 1 april 11 on purpose?0 -
I like mine alot but after seeing the others Im not so sure...:S
Do you think hand drawn entries stand a better chance?0 -

just made my submission.. i know i wont win, i dont have photoshop, or anything fancy,.. only mspaint..
hope you guys at least get a chuckle out of it

I think it's good for mspaint. You could always download free trial versions of Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop. I used to do that till I got the full version of photoshop. b:victory
Anyways, I'm a little nervous to post one of my entries (have sent in 3 - just have so many ideas b:sad) This is the one I like the most:

I tried to do something different, have also entered "themey" ones though. b:shutup[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

not necessarily. there's usually 15-20 judges voting each round and overall I'd say the deciding factor comes down to straight up quality regardless of style choice.
Also, really liking the submissions that you all have been sharing on this thread so far. Looks like the batch of April submissions will be just as stellar as previous months.
Finally, for those of you still using MSPaint I recommend that you give a freeware program called 'GIMP' a try.
http://www.gimp.org
GIMP is a full featured image editor that's as robust as PhotoShop. Plus, it's free! I also suggest that newcomers to this type of software read through some of the beginner tutorials that they provide on their site:

I actually decidedto enter this month's contest.
Hopefully they judge on the work and not the artist xD
For some reason though i feel uneasy posting it here. So i will just send it in and if it doesnt win i will post it here lolFacebook.com/foxi187

@ soho: I really like your idea! Perfect world meets iPod, love the colors. good job!
I think the front page of the website should be updated to let people know the April event is already going on. The main PWI page still has the March competition slide and the February winners slide. Some people didn't even know the winners were announced for March until today since it isn't on the front page of the site like last time. I just think the contest needs a little more publicity and love b:cute0 -

spot on. We have 2 new event pages waiting to get pushed out either later tonight or tomorrow (before maintenance). The March winners announcement page is cool because it also features the 9 additional designers who were runner-ups and were all really, really close to finishing in the Top 5.0 -

I really like this one! Great Job![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Seeing as April's theme is spring and happiness, I would assume the glowing white horse mount (don't remember its name but its the DQ one) would be better than the gloomy Midnight b:chuckle
Either way, here's mine using a screenshot taken in-game from a LC char. Flying towards the nice and refreshing open blue skies ^_^

(I can do a bit more cleanup in making the image less pixellated and fix the wings a bit - the yellow Easter egg also accidentally got cut off but I've already sent it in...)
