It happened 5 times last night for me. Started playing around 6pm, gave up after the 5th DC at around 8:30pm. All GMT +2
    Baifang and Smexxy:

Could you please let me know which network your ISP connection is using - SIAX or IS? Call your ISP and ask them if you don't know.

Ive messaged Skyrove and waiting for a response. Ive also forwarded them the ports and questions raised in this thread. Since I havent had an issue up until recently, and neither have ANY of us for that matter until recently, I can already predict their response.

I'm just confused as to WHY it's happening, only recently, to all of us listed in the thread, at the same time, when we have NOT had an issue in the past. If its Telkom, then that probably spells the end for me and PWI.
Ok totally off topic, but Monarch's signature quote deserves LoL KuDoS

I cant believe Z you went OT in something this serious to me! Bah. So much for guild love and support *sniff*

For the SA guys/girls here - it seems we are dealing with a SIAX routing issue here. I didn't have long enough last night test it properly due to work - had to log before the times that most of us get the problems, but will be testing again tonight after 8pm (our time). But the time I did get, I connected with no problem, stayed connected without any lag issues or disconnects, and logged out after playing uninterrupted for the longest time in the last week. My pings and speeds were good . This was using the IS routing.

My ISP says that even if they log an issue with SIAX, we'll probably get no-where with them (monopolies FTL) as they would only take action if a large number of ISPs or individuals log a complaint with them about the issue, and suggested I take a look at the latest unshaped and combo packages from IS as I'll probably also end up paying less too with the new products on the market now. Ask your ISP for their IS account options and see what they offer - it seems this might be the only way to solve our SA connectivity probs with PW.

If you get no-where with your ISP on this routing issue with SIAX or the new IS account options, please PM me and I will give you the details of the guys I use - an incredibly helpful and knowledgeable bunch of guys who go way beyond the call of duty to solve my problem every time I have needed to call them!

It's not your ISP, I'm in Finland and the problem is in the exact same server in Atlanta that everyone elses.

    border1.pc1-0-bbnet1.sje.pnap.net [66.151.144.4]

Time to send mail to Internap maybe?

EDIT:Their homepage doesn't have any contact email.
EDIT2:However, a domain lookup uncovered this:
    noc@internap.com

There is a problem with Dc's in the last couple of days. Too many people (including me) are getting disconnects. Please investigate this problem and fix.

    Thanks

Even when the game runs perfect with no DC the tracert will look identical.
Those servers disable ping requests as a saftey precaution vs things like ping of death attacks, its common practise for DNS/Routing servers to disable those kind of things for security.

It's a bit of a "relief" to see its not just limited to South Africa but more of a "European" issue. Maybe the company in charge of the DNS/somthing for Europe started to do some system maintenance in the evenings?

    For SA:

OK, so far I feel we ARE dealing with routing issues here.

I used the IS test account last night from 7:30pm (GMT+2) until 12:30am (GMT +2) - a total of 5 hours - and I logged in without a problem, and stayed connected without any DC for the whole 5 hours. My pings were normal (for SA), my lag was minimal - the usual SA delays - which I am used to playing with. It was very good and I almost could not bring myself to change my account settings back :(

I think that SIAX has changed it's routing recently hence us SA players suddenly experiencing problems as most home users are on SIAX based accounts.

I am looking at the IS products now available. Although they are more aimed at the re-seller or server provider businesses and other high traffic users, there is one that would suit me very well. and it's slightly cheaper than my current SIAX based unshaped/soft-capped account. If Biafang and Smexxy (or any other SA players) wish, I will PM them the details - just let me know if you want them.

    For those in other locations:

Please try to investigate the routing that your ISP accounts use - and I'll bet you find the solution there. It's NOT your PC settings, or your modem, or your PW software installation, or anything on your side, It's also not any specific thing that PWI guys can do about. It is ALL to do with the routing your ISP accounts use to get to the PWI servers. If you can, ask your ISP to route you differently, it may mean changing account types (as I will need to do) or even changing ISP if their routing is inflexible. I hope this thread helps others - because it is increadibly frustrating to deal with the DCs and lag-outs we've been experiencing.

    Good luck everyone!!
