No there is not. Unless you run Windows on your Mac.

I am working on it. Currently running PW international in iMac 2Ghz Intel Core Duo with 1.5GB RAM, ATI Radeon X1600 (128MB). I am using Crossover Games to run the game.
So far, I have been able to update the game. I have been able to go as far to creating a customized character. But I still have to make adjustments.
I'll keep us MAC users updated :)

We encourage Mac users to tinker and get the game working for them.

We can't offer support for it, but personally, I don't mind at all with Mac gamers helping other Mac gamers out with all of the tech hurdles. b:pleased
Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?

Thanks for the encouragement darthpanda! :)
It's a big hurdle for mac users to play games since most games are designed for windows.

I was able to play the game already. Currently in level 2 for this PW version (I used to play PW Philippines).

    I have a PC system too :)

It's just that people with mac have very limited options with regards to gaming software. I was once hooked on PW Philippines (this is the only game where I used real-world money to purchase in-game items; i also played the game almost 10 hours a day for half a year). By the way, I played the Philippine version on a PC.

I'm doing this for love of the game :) Almost winter time again and since I'm gonna be indoors most of the time this season and won't be able to go to the tropics because of my injuries, might as well put my talents to some use.

I have a macbook that's about a year old. I use bootcamp for games, and PWI runs perfectly, although it's only playable on lower graphic settings (onboard graphics card :().

Woohoo!! So far, so good! NO CRASHES! NO LAG! And I'm using mac to play this!

Saiena, are the icons (i.e. items, skill buttons) displaying correctly when using PW in bootcamp? How about the world map, is it displaying properly?

    Thanks in advance.

Everything displays correctly (as far as I can tell). World map works beautifully. My only problem is periodic, sudden crashes about once or twice a day, and I attribute that to my Macbook's ultra crappy onboard graphics card. :)

Even though PWI does not officially support Mac moved to tech support.

Just use parallels. It's easy to set up. All you need is to install windows xp in parallels and perfect world runs great!

i am trying to get this working on the macbook of a friend of mine. he already has Crossover Games so i want to use that one. i've also found multiple solutions here on this forum. however, they are not detailed enough.
i would like it if someone who already has it working, posted EXACTLY how he did it. pls help us so we can play together with some other friends.

I do that! VMware Fusion ftw!
only problem i had was some random thing when i first downloaded it, but it turns out i had to turn on 3D graphics accelerating. That way the virtual machine would recognize my laptop's graphics card.

angelofbeauty, what version of windows did you put on it? It works best with XP professional. It may be that you need to turn the 3D graphics accelerator on, look for that first. Then check if you have enough memory in your virtual machine. I'm not sure how Crossover works, but if it's anything like a parallel program that's generally how it should work.

I'm having the exact same problem as you... on the launcher its all boxes. Let me know if you find a solution please :).

UPDATE: I got rid of the boxes by downloading DirectX 9.0c and "Core Fonts" in the same bottle as PW.

New problem. Once I start the game it goes to the loading screen and then there is an error that I have to report to PWI, but I know that they do not offer tech support to macs etc.

After downloading bootcamp or parallels, is there ANY way to get windows XP without going out and buying it on a disc?

It would be even better yet if I could get some help getting this game to work on Crossover games. I have it installed and everything but as soon as I boot it up it crashes and says there's a software error.

Someone here who has it working should post exactly how they did it. I think it would help a lot of people.

The only means of acquiring a legitimate copy of Windows XP is to purchase the disc.

Please note everybody, we do not support players who use non-genuine (pirated) copies of Windows.

Other players on here should be able to help Mac users :)

"Hi I'm a Mac. I spend all my time making fun of other operating systems but I'm the only one who can't play Perfect World International."

You can't even use CrossOver to run it and even the current version of CrossOver WINE for Mac doesn't run it either. I wouldn't make fun of Mac so much if not for the arrogant commercials lol.

Currently running Crossover Games on my IMac

Was wondering if anyone solved the "PWI loading screen then ERROR" problem. Can't understand why it works for some and not for others.
Been tinkering since last December b:surrender

(Also tried Parralells and had same problems)
(<--- starting to think its a problem with the newer macs)

Some things you might want to check for running our games on Mac OSX or Linux:

East Asian Language Support, or Chinese Language support. Many of the game files are in Mandarin. If your system can not read these, you will get errors.

DirectX 9.0c support for 3d (see our minimum system requirements.).

Shader Model (vertex and pixel shaders) 2.0 Support from the video chipset at the bare minimum.

Your security/firewall software setup to allow the game to connect and receive data.
Do you need help learning about patching the game, installing it, changing antivirus/firewall settings, changing network settings, learn how to use a computer, keeping your PC maintained and more?
