    I have two computers hooked to same router and one ran slow other ran just fine.. go figure. i know it had to do with the processor and the ram and the...... but all in all it ran great coming from where ever the servers are for MY.
    so for us newbies how do you find your ping and what is a good ping to have?

    you cant ping their game servers directly... they have good security

    you can try by this method:

    > press start
    > choose Run
    > type "cmd" in the run dialog box and hit the enter
    > in that msdos promt *the new ugly looking application that just opened"
    type ping<space><server address or ip>

    or if you're and advanced user you can use network administration tools like <tool name here> to check your RT... but <tool name here> is sort of against the rules as it's a hacker's tool

    ok when you say <space> i am assuming you mean to space

    when you say
    <server address or ip> do you mean my ip address .?? whose ip address??

    that address is their (PWI's) server address.

    you can just go type this there

    ping www.perfectworld.com *you cant ping their site directly btw*
    try
    ping www.google.com
    if you wanna know how it works, it will automatically give the IP address as it pings

    this command will ping their main site. for their IP ask an admin or find out on your own ;)

    Although this information is correct. Keep in mind that your ping to our web servers does not accurately reflect what your ping will be to our game servers.

    I dont like the idea of separating PvP and PvE - but it seems necessary. I'm assuming the East coast (where I live) - would be more crowded. People in Asia have their Chinese client and the Malaysia English client.
    Friends should agree on a server so you don't get separated. =x

    And I think having two different PvP and PvE servers will separate the community, if I play on west coast server I can only meet people that plays PWI that live in the west coast, and the east cost is totally non existent on the server.

    Xarfox please think about this more carefully, if a player plays on a west coast server and got his or her character to like lvl 80+, then suddenly he/she moves or go to vacation on east coast of america, then he/she has to start all over on the east coast server, I know you can still play on the west coast server if you live on east coast, but why cant servers be channels?? like you can switch from PvP east coast to PvP west coast, but you cant switch from PvP to PvE server, understand:confused:

    I'm not with or against this, just typing my inside thoughts for Admins to know how their players feel about this;)

    DUDE, YOU and most of ppl here are start to annoying me.. you guys think that you will be the only ones playing?? wtf??? do you read that this is an INTERNATIONAL version?? check the banner if you dont understand..... SO... thats means this --> "I can only meet people that plays PWI that live in the west coast" is completly BS because you will miss some USA dudes... but you will find MANY ppl from other countries..
    So please stop thinking that this is an USA version because it isnt.. is just hosted at USA, but is not YOUR version, is OUR version.

    PvP and PvE is not separated, it just describes the server mode

    on the PvP server you can PK anyone above lvl30 outside safe zones
    on the PvE server you can't PK anyone who is in safe mode

    everything else is the same, TW, duel, arena, the penalties for PKing
    PW has been endless frustration for me #2
