You should raise some question about PWI tourneys for PK (3v3/6v6) with prizes. Hopefully no gear advantages between players.

"No gear advantages" will even out in players not being able to play their build. Like Devilstone Clerics + Seekers which we currently have in BR.
If players already are able to build their char as they need it, they should be able to play their own gear in such competitive activities.
