I never merchant anything and farm everything i have so im holding up pretty well.
Merchant will do stuff for you faster i guess but its just boring for me and i dont have the patience for it. I need to be broke AF after i made a big purchase or i dont feel like i accomplished anything 0 -
Uh.. no. The best way to earn coin is by setting up a catshop and sell stuff. That is as much part of the game as farming coin from the environment. I made 10x more coin from my catshop than I did from botting, BH, etc.banibe said:

Rank 9 use to be worth like 500$ USD. now it's close to 1.3k USD. gst use to be worth 2.5mil, now it's 28-35mil. i can totally understand the prices for gold being different from what it use to be. but from 2.5mil to 30mil? that's just rubbish. this game is a damn good game, just sad to see it being ruined by greed.. one point of merging the servers was because the game was dying. at least this is what i understand. it was dying, not because people got bored of the game but for the simple fact that the prices are to much. but merge made it worst than before. and at the rate it's all going seems at the end PWI will just have to merge all servers into one. understanding by then the price for a gst will be worth like 100mil each
prices in the past tells it all
and for the smartass's who's gonna say "then dont play the game" keep it to yourself and try understand why i wrote this.
The main problem is that this is an old game with many old end game players, a lot of those players are really rich in game.
(whatever by legal means like: farmers, merchants, etc. Or by illegal ones like: illegal boting for years, abuse of codes, account stealing, etc)
Also a lot of people that keep abusing things.
So those people are able to get whatever they want at whatever price they want, if you add to that a bit of speculation from some really greedy people and pwi doing constant sales of items with high demand (like those horchid packs) you get some sort of inflation on gold.
Indeed is easy to earn money, but generate money from nothing like before No. Also an honest player dont have too much of a chance against an abuser when generating coin from nothing.jadasia said:oh well. either earn more coin or pay gold. You whine a lot about how expensive everything is but you fail to mention a word about how much easier it is to earn coin even after nerfing DQ items and the rest compared to years ago.
The only things that keep generating money from nothing are lvl 100 BH, Jolly and some other events that gives those $$$ cards randomly like tigers, cube, etc. Also there is the coins that mobs drop but I dont think that people autoculti for that anymore since the profit is not really good unless you one shot them and if that the case is way more profitable to farm tt, warsong, fsp etc.
Honest and dedicated players use everything the game has to offer for the player to generate coin for whatever.
but how are you going to have stuff to sell in a catshop without buying first???. i mean sure you can sell mats. like pigiron and those sorta stuff.. but that's very small in money.. only way that's really left is merching. buying and selling for more unless ur planning to spam abba to get SOD'S/SOA'S..
One starts small and grows their catshop inventory. Been there and done that several times. It's not that hard once you get past that self-imposed mental impediment you seem to possess. It takes time and effort but what shouldn't in this game? How long does one take to level to 105 3 times or make Shifting sky X? Starting a catshop and growing a business is just as part of the game as leveling a char and gearing it up and PvP/PvE play. All chars start at level 1 so why should a merchant business be any different. Get creative and find out what people are selling and buying and undercut the competition.0 -

I think you are missing the point of what I say. Of course that a smart and dedicated merchant will earn more coin than some random abuser or a botter. But as i say before a merchant doesnt count on this since a merchant does not generate coin from nothing.
A merchant indeed can affect the market, a good merchant can earn even billions per month, but from where are those billions of coins coming?
Also most of cash shopers don't generate coins from nothing (thats the reason to sell gold to other players after all).
My point is not about who is best or who is worst at being rich, thats irrelevant.
Also wahtever we like it or not we need coin makers thats how the system on this game works.
- There are people that farm coins
- people that farm mats and sell them
- people that farm mats, then craft gear and sell
- people that charge real money and then sell that gold on auction (ok used to be, since gold cost more than auction cap now lel)
- people that sell item from the boutique.
- and a big etc.
Of course that also there are some people that are a mix everythings at same time like: A casher who charge gold, then sell items from the boutique and also farm instances like FSP, warsong, tt and merchant all those mats, this person can also be coin farmer if he/she have jolly toons and/or do his/her bhs100 on all the toons. But still that person alone will not be Generating a lot of coins from nothing since just as you say is more efficient to be catshop than farm coins.
So here is the question: If Im a merchant and sell lets say pack items and gear (so yeah in this case I cash shop and farm)
and I get a few houndreds of millions per month... From where are those coins originally coming from?
The answer is not exactly from the packs that i sell or the gear that I farm to sell
The coin is coming from my customers, those customers could be other merchants like me, mat farmers, cash shopers, a jolly toon, an honest guy, a scammer, etc, etc
But again from where did those coins come from originally?
The answer is from a quest, or a BH item or a mob.
So with that we can go back to the problem.
Why iseverythingsome things so damn expensive on this game????
The answer:there is still too much coin in game and too many rich people able to pay **** prices for some items.
Edit: totally off topic but this forum word filter is mentally defective
Actually it is YOU missing the point here. The game was nerfed because there was way too much coin being generated from the environment. The overwhelming majority of that coin still exists in the game because there is no real incentive to sink it back out. You can either continue to whine about the "Abusers" or you can adapt to the changes made to the game which put a stop to most of the coin being generated into the environment.
The reason why things are so expensive is because of inflation due to the devaluation of the in-game coin because there is so much of it. The issue is that the end-game chars have most of the coin. A creative merchant will be able to trickle that coin away from the top end players and use it to advance their characters.
When gold was selling for 120K coin back in 2010 it was just as expensive relatively as it is today only because there was so much less coin generated from the environment and so much less being hoarded by players. Skills and gear, cube, et al was very expensive back then.
Even though mob drops were nerfed in coin value they still have value. Especially the mid level mats used in manufacturing and crafting. I'm certain that one can bot those mats and catshop them next to any blacksmith/tailor/craftsman/etc NPC and sell to those who are trying top level their manufacturing skills.
It is not that hard to be creative and find a niche.
Your notion that things are the way they are now because of the abusers is not very accurate. The prices are insane due to supply and demand. If the abusers were the issue then when the abuse was halted (botting for coin) things would have returned to normal whatever that is. But gold is high because of supply and demand. Boutique sales created a very high demand for gold. It's as simple as that. Really. And when the price of gold goes up so does everything bought with it. Where's the abuse? It's supply and demand.0 -

You don't understand, why players created this thread.
Because not everyone can win in your competition.
I don't like PK (including NW), don't like to be merchant and this exclude me from the game, for example.
This can't deny facts, that:jadasia said:

Don't you see @jadasia: rich players (including abusers) won in competition, they can play this game, while poor players can't ?

Wow people wasting so much energy in complaining about the fact they can't be rich instead using that energy to become rich.
Greedy players exist. But greedy players cannot exist without stupid players and rich players that buy their stuff.
So before blaming on greedy CSers blame it first on stupid and rich players. And no, stupid and rich players are not one and the same. Stupid players are poor players that dont know how to merchant, dont know how to farm, dont know how to save money, dont know when to buy and not to buy stuff and dont want to learn any of those things mentioned. Rich players are the ones that know to merchant, farm, save money, when to and when not to buy stuff. How rich players are helping greedy players keeping their prices up? Simple. Being rich they dont care how much they pay for an item so they will buy it anytime they want. And you know what, you stupid player? You cannot tell them to not buy items when they want and pay the price they want. Because they can turn back at you and say: '' Work harder like we did and become rich like we did and you can buy items too whitout giving a **** how much you pay for it cause you will be able to replace those money fast''. And they will be right to tell you that.
Now the question that stays on every poor players lips is: '' How do I become rich?''. Well your question has being given an answer many times in this forum including in this thread.
But to become rich in the game needs TIME, PATIENCE and WORK. If you dont have time to play enough to farm coins forget about obtaining end game gear and be happy just with G16. If you dont have patience to merchant, patience to wait for your item to be sold forget about obtaining end game gear and be happy just with G16 gear. If you dont want to work in farming and merchanting and you spend your time dueling and chating forget about obtaining end game gear and be happy with G16. Be happy with G16 gear if you at least obtained that gear.
If you want to become rich and Top player over night for that you need to put real money in the game.
If you want to become rich and Top player over night but you dont want or cant to put real money in the game... WAKE UP!. You were having a nice dream but now the cruel reality is upon you. So with you we get back to TIME, PATIENCE, WORK. Now if real life takes alot from your time and let you with only 2-3 hours to play so you have time only for dailies than learn to merchant if you want end game gear. But at the beggining you will have to forget about those dailies and use those 2-3 hours to get stuff to sell in a catshop over night. Or you can try obtain those in weekend. But ofcourse you may sell over night or you may not sell over night. Sometimes you may have to wait weeks for your items to be sold. PATIENCE. These above aplies not only to those that can only play 2-3 hours per day but also to those that can play 9-10 hours but they dont like or dont want to farm. If you dont know how to obtain things to sell or how to sell you have to learn how to or else you will never be a merchant and you will forever be poor.
Now for the players that want to become rich without merchanting your only option will be to farm. So farm, FSP, farm FWS, farm TT, farm Delta, farm Lunar. For exemple farm FSP coins, make C packs and sell them to the catshops. WORK.
And again we are talking about TIME, PATIENCE, WORK. YES ALL THIS TIME WE WERE TALKING ABOUT TIME, PATIENCE AND WORK. If you dont have these 3 in this game than find other game that dont require them.0 -
Nop, Im not mising any point, nor whining. In fact gold prices don't really affect me like to go bankruptcy, since I make coins from farming stuff and selling, the items that I sell are not really afected by gold or at least not so much.jadasia said:

It is true what you said about pwi nerfing items from mobs, but doing that does not really end abuse.
You say it your self and I quote:The reason why things are so expensive is because of inflation due to the devaluation of the in-game coin because there is so much of it
Some of those people who farmed coins and dq drops did it for years, they are already rich. Also those people already had an unfair advantage over normal players so some of them could even star being merchants with a nice base capital once their income was killed. Others, the more lazy ones, just find a new way to abuse.
A clear example of this: Just a few months before wanmei nerfed dq and everything mob related. There was this squad of illegal bots, they were always boting on the area near Charmed Eye Lake (the Dragonet's lake). after some time they switched to the area near Camp of Intrepid. His owner, an OP rrr9 end game from one of the old strong factions on my old server (pre merge) was almost always killing the harpy wraith to make sure his bots were able to ''work'' quietly there
After that update, the guy just turn some of his bots into plants and mat farmers, others he reawakened and turn them in to jolly toons, and like 2 or 3 on catshop
Also it is impossible to fix economy by killing every single coin generator mean, as I say before, whatever we like it or not that is part of the system.
When i said on one my first posts on this thread: ''Also an honest player dont have too much of a chance against an abuser when generating coin from nothing.''
I think that i made very clear that im not talking about merchants or tt/fsp farmers etc.
On this game's economic system like in many others, there are people that are not mat farmers, not merchant. Those people are the one that create the coins for merchants. You can see some of them as the ones that are down on the chain if you want. Whatever you like them or not they are there.
Some of those people indeed will become merchants or farmers, others will quit and others will always be there getting the coins for us.
At the end of the day people can tell others: hey be a merchant and become rich, dont be lazy blablabla, but it will be up to them to do it. And there will be a lot of people that will never be rich, thats a fact.
Also there is indeed greedy people on this game, and when I talk about greed, im not talking about someone selling expensive gold, people is entitled to sell their items for whatever they want.
But I think that a normal world chat message like: Selling gold 5.5 mill per gold, pm me what you want
Is very diferent to the ones like this:
Person1Hey guys next week orchid packs will be back on the store so we should rise gold to 7 mill
Person2:Yeah, if i make the call to all my friends we can even rise it to 8 mill
People who play on Etherblade know that there are a couple of guys who like to do that, and no It is not drama or trolling.
In fact one of those guys was able to rise gold from like 3.5 to 5+ mill for a few hours when pwi was going to give those big notes as a login reward.... He even finished his emperor thanks to all the ''smart'' people that fall for that
Edit: Ups laptop with edge, quote got glitched lol0 -

Now you've gone and turned it into the rich v poor class warfare garbage. Go ahead and believe that now since someone who has a lot of coin they must be abusers and those who aren't willing to do what it takes to compete with them by earning your their own coin, such as yourself since you don't like setting up catshops et al, are somehow victims. Why don't you just say what you really think: You want some income but you feel like getting a job or start a business to earn it yourself and it's somehow unfair how other people who do have jobs or own a business makes a profit from it and can buy what they want.
Let me give you some advice now. You do not belong in an MMO. Go play a console game somewhere.
I know why you people created this thread. It's to complain about the rich v poor **** again. To complain about those who worked to get what they got v those who want what everyone else has but doesn't want to do what's necessary to get it.
Take your income inequality entitlement class mentality elsewhere because it is not going to work the way you want here in this game.Post edited by jadasia on0 -

Once again it's called supply and demand. It really isn't any more difficult than that. Yes I said there is far more coin on the servers today than there was years ago. That does cause inflation. More coin = more coin traded so precisely where is the abuse? Duh...
People get out of their catshops what they put into it. People get out of their game what they put into it. If a person doesn't earn coin from a catshop or anything else in this game than that's their own fault and nobody else. As far as the prices are concerned I've stated this so many times already: Everything is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. If someone wants to pay 10 mil per gold then that's what that gold is worth if a person wishes to sell it. You can call both the buyer and seller "greedy" all you want because you do not agree with the prices but your opinion means nothing to them at all because they both are getting what they want. Too bad so sad for you.
Greedy is what the sore losers call the winners I suppose. Okay. Keep thinking that while others continue buying and selling at prices we are willing to accept or pay for whatever.
