New "physical and magical piercing" stats

I am playing on different server region, It's hard to imagine without trying it myself, but I'll try. After reading carefully, here's how I see it

- Defense Penetration is indeed a NEW modifier put into damage equation, not ignoring x pdef/mdef.
- If penetration % = penetration / (10000 + penetration) , when I have 10000 physical penetration, the Penetration%=50%.
- About this -> def.effective = defense.actual * (1 - penetration / (10000 + penetration)) ,
for example a pdef of 37575 would be equal to 90% damage reduction. So with 10000 physical penetration put into the equation would be :
Def.effective = 37575 * [1- {10000/(10000+10000)}] = 37575 * 0.5 = 18.787.5
Pdef 18.787.5 is equal to 81.82% damage reduction. From 10% dmg to 18.18% = 81.8% more damage.

How about Resistance in astrolabe, does it nullify penetration or just simply added to defense.actual.
