Important things to take care off before server merge

Hi Folks, we get a server merge, but problems will occur, not pwi's fault. I am taking the following steps, if others have other useful things, please share them.
Take the following precautions.
1. Exchange all your demon/sage cards, after the update, demon/sage cards will not be able to used if you have them in your inv.
2. Take screen shot of all your gear, refines, important stuff. Some of us might get our gear switched around. Have the screen shot time stamped.
3. Park your toons in remote locations before the server merge, to avoid massive lag when merged servers reopen.
4. Take screen shot (time stamped) of your money in inventory, bank, gold in ah and in account stash.
5. Empty out mailboxes if you have valuable thins stored in your mail, in case mail box has a hiccup - updated
6. If mailboxes do not get a hiccup, redeem your blessings, we know how the blessings page usually takes a hit when things are moved around. - updated
If things go sideways, you can get your things back relatively quickly after the server merge. It has happened in the past, people have had their R999 gear switched with other players/classes, so, stay on the safe side.

If you must do this then ensure those screen shots are properly date stamped. I may have 100s of millions now I can screen shot but I may not have that tomorrow if you know what I mean0

Not as important, but maybe it would be a good idea to redeem blessings right before the merge... who knows if it's gonna work smootlhy the first days following the merge :P0

Not sure about others, but sanctuary can get laggy, and if we are adding another server, no matter how small the population, will cause lag for people who already have a tough time in arch and other hot spots.0 -
Are all the NA server's population small ? I play the EU server and I got shocked when I went in HL server...
And now I see you guys talking about small population in other servers too
Guess EU server has the bigger population nowadays then...
Maybe PWI is really coming to its end0 -

EU server is only as big as it is, because they had a merger a few years back as well. It's just now starting to hit over here, and some servers have more players going than others. No idea if it was planned, but seems some of the bigger population servers are merging with smaller population ones; though how much of the larger one is made up of alts and bots is debatable.0 -
I think sanctuary and i forget which one (i think harshland, pve server) are more active compared to EU. The pvp servers are small, the pve servers are bigger. I could be wrong, but from what i read so far about problems in the economy, EU is smaller compared to sanctuary.
As advoc said, there is a large amount of alts and bots running around.0 -

What I did was open event calendar so date/time was showing then screen shot my gears and junk. I don't know what others are doing.
The other thing I am doing is taking all my gears/genies/flyers from my G15 and up toons and putting that stuff in my bank for safe keeping.

I took screenshots with event calendar open so date is visible. I also took most of my toons out of Archo to smaller cities.

screen shots are good only for bound items coz you can take snap shots with all items and coins later on spend all and sell the items and after merge complain that all those coins and items are gone. dont think that pwi staff is that stupid and would return those things.0

Good advise, The odds of something happening taking into account PWE history are Medium. Take PWI history out of that and work to the test systems that Im sure has been done 1000s of times and its None/Low.
Ive seen it noted as well about removing Coins from the AH if you have toons on both servers.
One important note. This should be done BEFORE YOU LOG OFF going into the Mant Period. Doing this at any time sooner or to a point logging back into a toon will invalidate your SS to a point.

Do you mean that sometimes pwi does a rollback after a maint that was taken 2~20 minutes before maint started?0 -

No I mean if you done this a day ago you may have changed your gears in the time between SS n Server Shutdown. If you log in again after the SS your invalidate it as the last login time stored in the logs will be different. AKA this should be done as your last login before the servers go down. To be totally fair this is more if any gears change added to that the odds of anything going wrong are LOW.
Really good idea tho for players to do this. The logs would cover this and backup any claims in any case but its in the players hands to safeguard IN CASE. This is just me doting the I and Crossing the T.
A roll back would only happen in a Major problem and as far as I know their have only been 3 or 4 depends how you look at it and call it.
