Can't tell what the War Avatars are in War Avatar Bag

Whenever I hover over a War Avatar in the War Avatar bag, the info box pops up and immediately dissappears, sometimes continuosly flickering instead of staying up so i can read what the War Avatar is and does and make a decision whether i want to equip it or not. The ones that are already equipped do not have a problem, the info box stays up, although if i were to unequip them, they would have the same problem in the bag.
Figured out partially what's causing it, if the War Avatar bag is open, and there is anything behind it, such as another window, a player's character, an npc, part of the ui, etc, the War Avatar info boxes keep flickering so you can't read it. So in order to read them you'd have to have a really big screen with a really large resolution and a huge empty space on the screen where you can move the War Avatar bag to and still have the War avatar window open next to it so you can equip them while knowing what they are. Hopefully Pwi can fix this other wise it's not even going to be worth having them.

It's a bug. It also seems to be exacerbated by smaller window sizes.GAME FORUMS (Direct Link & Arc Frame)Forum Enhancements and Visual Improvements(Greasemonkey/Tampermonkey and/or Stylish required)PWI vBulletin Forum Data Dumps and Backups0

I'm surprised you'd call it a bug, @nrglg . It's not. Its simple programming logic that goes wrong when certain events happen.
You place your cursor over the avatar, the description appears. If there is no cursor directly over it, the description won't show. When the description appears in front of the point on which your cursor is then you don't have the cursor on the avatar anymore and the description disappears. But then the cursor is back over the avatar so the description appears once more. Loop... Blink... It's meant to work like that.
What's needed is a big screen or to place the avatars where the description won't block your cursor over the avatar.ZentVedr - Retired at last. Or am I?0 -

Which is a bug. What on earth do you think programming is?
Edit: In case I wasn't clear, I am a programmer. Programmers write software. Games are software. Software is comprised of logic. Logic can contain errors. Logic errors are bugs. When something is supposed to behave in one way, behaves a different way, that is an error in the logic. Events that behave incorrectly, like the one seen above, are not the expected behavior, so it is a bug. I think I've explained it thoroughly. Hopefully now you'll understand what is a bug and not a bug.Post edited by nrglg onGAME FORUMS (Direct Link & Arc Frame)Forum Enhancements and Visual Improvements(Greasemonkey/Tampermonkey and/or Stylish required)PWI vBulletin Forum Data Dumps and Backups0 -
Most fail answer since it doesn't help Yoda3160 and this isn't something that can be seen as a bug. It is a wish so there is no priority to fix it. The Avatar procedure works like it supposed to do according to the functional design.
Now a workaround that Yoda3160 actually can use:
When you open War Avatar you can choose War Avatar Book and War Avatar Bag - ofcourse the Nuema Listing too but never mind about that one. Both War Avatar Book and War Avatar Bag opens a window in front of War Avatar (the main window). You will see the 'flickering' once your cursor/pointer is above the chosen card AND the card on the main window. If the location is exactly on the left or right of this main window next to the card pictures or above the pictures you will notice the flickering. This can happen on both low and high resolution screens/windows. To solve this you just move the 'child-window' (War Avatar Book or War Avatar Bag) a bit - which can also be done on the lowest resolution so no need to change yours. Now you can see your cards and/or insert/remove them from a slot.
If you want to just see what cards you have use War Avatar Book, choose All Levels, All Types, All Avatars, Have. For placing/replacing you should always move the War Avatar Bag a bit if you have the 'flickering'-effect.
Then there is a way to just get the Inventory window open (if it's not opened yet), rightclick on the cards in War Avatar Bag to copy them to the inventory. Now you can see the cards and (if the War Avatar Bag is closed) use them by rightclicking them again. Ofcourse you need to open War Avatar Bag again to copy cards back from Inventory to your Avatar Bag.
Hope this helps a bit.

Fail because it's true? I think you need to re-evaluate your definition of fail. And for **** sake, I already explained this. IT IS A BUG. This is NOT how this is supposed to behave. I doubt either of you are programmers because you clearly have no idea how bugs are defined. Now, I'm not saying that Wanmei will give two **** about this and bother to fix it, but it is a bug. This is not the expected or intended behavior. This was a programmer overlooking how this was supposed to be handled. You can retrieve the lower bounding box of the card and determine whether or not the popup should be there based on that. This is a bug. Do not make me reiterate this anymore.GAME FORUMS (Direct Link & Arc Frame)Forum Enhancements and Visual Improvements(Greasemonkey/Tampermonkey and/or Stylish required)PWI vBulletin Forum Data Dumps and Backups0 -
Our careers do get us into some bad discussions don't they?
Yes, I am a programmer too. Personally I don't consider it a bug as the mechanic works as intended although it disrupts gameplay, which, in easy terms, it's a bug. It's something that passed by, probably never noticed. I see it as bad programming instead of a bug. Maybe not "bad" only not put to trial on a larger variety of environments. But this is just me. Clearly we are different types of professionals. I expressed myself terribly earlier and apologize if I sounded harsh. I'm used to only one kind of addicted programmers. This is a nice thing to bring up in a conference.
Back on topic (kinda).
The thing is, this thing is disruptive and should be gone. How? We could think of ways, yes, but we depend on China so... Yeah...ZentVedr - Retired at last. Or am I?0 -

Bug...bug... stop it guys! Just try to give people a workaround instead of making yourself important! We simply are not allowed to fix this ourself so please: if people ask for help try to help!
And nrglg,I still disagree with the fact you see this as a bug. Sure they could change the source a bit to help (some) people but this one is just not important. The procedure works, we'll have to live with it.

Just to be a crude ****.:
We have no idea how china designed this, so we will never know if this was intentional or not.
Now what I personally think:
However, on a usability level, I agree with nrglg, it shouldn't do this and thus can be seen as a minor bug.
The front window should have focus and hovering over an item to display a description should not be bothered by windows that are in its background at that moment (that is what is happening, right? At least that's what I understand from what i'm reading to be the cause here).
Or in case of mouse hovering over item and description popup overlaps over said item:
Hovering over a description text that belongs to said avatar should also not always make the description disappear. The text should only disappear when:
Your cursor is not over description of war avatar where descriptionbox and avatar item overlap, does that make any sense? it did to me.
In case it didn't, example: |||| the blue is the avatar item in your bag, the red is where description overlaps, if your cursor is in the red area, there should be no flickering, nor should description disappear.
If your cursor is not in either the blue or red area, the description should be gone. This is the only time the description should disappear.
Any windows in the background of the description should not be interfering with displaying the description.
Regardless, it's up to china and we will most likely not see it resolved any time soon.
Specially if they consider this to be implemented as designed. The only fitting image for this forum.0
