Shadowmantle Preview Patch Notes NW.10.20131211a.12

panderuspanderus Member, NW_CrypticDev, Cryptic Developer Posts: 1,007 Cryptic Developer
Combat and Balance
  • Hunter Ranger Seismic Shot FX will no longer outstay its welcome, lingering longer than it should.

Content and Environment
  • The calendar now shows more accurate rewards for Call to Arms: Storm the Keep.

Gateway
  • Characters with certain special characters are now visible on the character selection screen.

Items and Economy
  • A few rare randomly generated rings now have icons.
  • Removed an erroneous stat from a couple of the Gladiator items. Performance and stat allocation not affected, this is effectively a text typo.
  • The Weaponsmithing profession now properly has only 5 rare tasks at a time.

Performance and Stability
  • Resolved a possible client crash on a specific game file on specific graphics settings and cards.
  • Resolved a disconnect issue that could possibly happen on Gateway when attempting to display invalid companions.

Thanks, been quite tiresome explaining to people that the tooltip is showing the old rewards and the shadow wolves will not be returning. On a related note, the same old rewards are displayed for the Defend the Temple CTA that's been added. Any chance this is also fixed?

    Nice!

Are there any plans to fix the "Shower of Lights" issue or do we have to deal with it for this Winter? :)

Welcome back Panderus and the rest of the team.

Hate to do this, but is there any chance you can slip in a fix to the Idris chest bug before this patch goes live?

How about the broken GWF weapon graphics?

Alot of the GWF weapons are misaligned and look like they just was cracked in two, or bent over an anvil and let a really really fat ogre sit on end leaning off of it.

They're not fat! Just really, really big boned. That's how ogres are built.

It's not the ogre's. The naskel mines are being tampered with again.

Which ones specifically? I have seen it occasionally with the new Dread Warrior one sometimes. Are there others? Please be as specific as you can when talking about an issue as possible so it is clear what the issue is.

Its a grand scale of multiple weapons that does this.
Some of the event free transmute items such as the hammer from grey wolf CTA and Sword from the Straight to Helm CTA
And some regular green, blue and some epic 10-60 weapons, and very prodominant with alot of Axes.

And almost all the weapons are slanted on the back, making the end of the weapon go inside of the character.

This has been an increasing issue for months. Theres just far too many weapons to go and individually list that does this. Some weapons that didnt used to do this, suddenly do now since Module 2 released. this ranges from all level ranges of GWF weapons.

Here are some threads reported of this issue just scanning through the bug forums.

I reported a bug a while ago, changing appearance token at alteration wizard is again bugged. Character is placed too far left and is zoomed in alot by default. Should be easy to reproduce, take a look at this.

Any chance you could change the other Call to arm event announcements so they say a generic ' you have a chance to win event exclusive dye packs and a mount OR companion' or something along those lines so as to prevent further confusion in future? I understand that you want to surprise us with the rewards for such events but just reusing text from events gone by is a little amateurish.

I'm guessing this is the resilience stat that was showing up on some PvP gear , will this be getting readded in future or can't you discuss such things with us?

I'm sure this is not a huge issue, but I wanted to mention that my Wild Hunt Rider companion doesn't seem to animate when he uses his basic spear attack. The leaping spear attack seems to be ok, though.

The Turmian Hammer from the Dread skirmish has this problem. When in resting state for my female elf GWF, it hangs down and the handle is split from the hammer end. Also, she is constantly shifting from resting state to weapon ready, even while riding her mount.

That sounds like you took the Fey Thistle boon.

On that note, a gentle reminder that the Fey Thistle boon is bugged and constantly throws characters who've taken it into their combat stance.

So this is the "Stat_resilience" that was added in... Is there ANY comment as to the future of this stat? It seems like adding resilience to pvp gear in upcoming module/patch....

Any comment? Even a wink smile face? ;)

Question: with the patch tomorrow and the end of the Winter Festival, as there currently is no Festival Merchant (Stars and Lights) at Protector's Enclave, will we have to exchange all our Lights and Stars before the festival ends or will 2 NPCs be added to Enclave for us to turn Stars as well as Lights in?

    Two that I have:

    Greatsword Of The Dread Legion
    Turmian Great Hammer (transmute weapon)

Just a note, not an answer, but the midsummer merchant they had in PE simply had two tabs, one for each type of currency, rather than adding two NPCs.

They probably will. I think they've been pretty good about keeping a way to spend your currency around for at least a week afterwards for most events, at least since the Valindra Invasion, when they had to put the vendor back in the following week due to all the people with unredeemed bones.

I would get onto it fairly sharply after that though, since the upcoming CTA would take over that spot.

    Edit: outcomes not guarenteed

Giving specific names would be easier, but since I know all axes and hammers in the game have this problem, it would be best to just fix whatever globally ruined all of them.

I'mma just second this in hopes it gets noticed. Every single weapon I've put on my GWF is broken, from the lowest level whites to epic purples. It's less noticeable on most swords, but it's there. They're all crooked at the point where the handle meets the part of the weapon that is given a visual effect by an enchant.

Oddly enough, I have seen non-broken weapons out there. Including Dread skirmish hammers, so not sure what's factoring in here.
