Cat companion now really annoying?

So, during the few minutes I was on before the servers went down, I couldn't help but be really annoyed by my cat. At first I thought it was the sound of a new mount around me, but I quickly realized that they added a new stretching/yawning animation to the cat companion, and on top of that, it makes a sound - a really annoying one. I already have all voices muted in game because it drives me crazy, but there is no such option for mounts and pets, is there? I have a lot invested in my cat, it has rank 9 runestones etc. Are they really going to give me no option but to drop him or endure him?

.__.; There is a reason why some people are not good as pet owners/parents... This post is one of them. D:

joking aside, now people can stop complaining about the howlers so much!

Thanks for telling me. I was about to buy the cat right before I saw the inferno spam and bought keys instead. Will skip on cat until they fix noise.

No such thing as a good parent. But I am a good pet owner. I own many cats and even endure a Bengal in real life, who is very vocal. But in this game, I don't want to hear some strange sound every 10 seconds, which doesn't even sound like a cat, by the way. Really does sound like some strange mount.

Could you try making it a baby cat and see if the sound is still there?

It came to my mind as well, so I tested it. It was the exact same sound, no difference whatsoever.

Hey there! Greetings from the Cryptic audio team. I'd like to assure you that you will not have to drop your feline friend. There was an issue we discovered regarding the cat companion and a fix will go out in a patch in the next couple of weeks. Cat companions will soon be back to normal.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for having a preview/test server so we don't experience these bugs when the game goes live.. Oh wait, you patch the bugs in w/ the game, then decide to address the issues after it has hosed many people. My bad.. lol
It's gonna be a long couple of weeks grouping w/ anyone who has the **** cat.. :(

I wouldn't care if my dwarf's HAMSTER screeched all day long if the nightmare mount overflow was cleaned up.

nice enough to respond?! Its their OFFICIAL forum, it shouldn't be a nicety or privilege for them to respond, it should be simple good customer service to respond!

I don't mind the sound much personally, it goes with the cat stretching I guess ... but being able to disable companion sounds would definitely be a nice option when/if I did want it.

Also ... in terms of my black panther - I miss the washing-face animation. It's fine if the tiger-mounts don't do that, but I wish the companion panther did...it was cuter. :o I guess all things "cat" end up with the same animation routine, tho?

And it should be simple manners that people not be jerky jerks in return.

This would be great. A bit of mocking, droning on and on about poor combat choices etc. could be hilarious.
