I think they have a week long plan and the sale timeline falls into the plan

Could be wrong....but I just got a feeling based on things I have seen since I been playing

My guess is having discounted zen and a 50% sale at same time has been considered too much to give players at one time...and I fully understand it

The maintenance hits people in Europe much harder - it started at 3.30pm and even if it finished on time & the download complete, it's still after 10pm before you can log in - with it running over, well you can work that out...
