Ha HA! Double RP weekend as a potential reward? I knew there would be a double RP weekend soon! MY INVESTMENT SHALL MAKE ME A FORTUNE! Muaa haa haa!

Also, realtalk: I was thinking there might be an official community guild, like, in game, that was basically just "Okay, you want Stronghold boons but your own guild is 99% MIA people, this guild is maintained by the server. We don't PVP though so deal with that" or something. But that would just be Big Brother forcing its way in I guess.

I imagine that's the double RP items thing. We once had a time when whenever you woulda gotten an enchantment/runestone, you get 2 instead.

Either that or it's a strongholds token currency thing. I forgetz.

Double gems probably means double runes/enchants. It's an event they're already run a few times.

Firstly "We", how many people are left from launch working on this game?

Secondly there is a difference between guild housing and a stronghold. Specifically guild housing is customization and provides, private quarters for storing stuff.

Seriously 46M AD for a boon building is an absurd price for a small guild. Thanks a lot for launching this after everyone left.

So what ? now we need to earn these double rp week ends ?? haha Guys please, get back to solid ground, Take players for fools removing leadership, break DH, nerf players, increase insanely xp needed to get to 70.
Now we have to earn these double "rp/xp" week ends ? That's a joke right?

And I kind of think I remember them just arbitrarily giving us the assorted double RP weekend even though we didn't technically "earn" it >>

But I could be misremembering. Hope so though-could seriously use that double RP weekend <crosses fingers>

Those weekends usually come on the back of an unfavorable change in the game. It's sort of a "sorry about that but look over there, its a shiny thing"

This one is my own plan that I made. Not sure how you guys would like it, but I thought the concept of building a stronghold together sounded cool. I'm actually most excited about the wallpaper that changes

I mean, it's a decent marketing gimmick.

I think I'd prefer something along the lines of that one event. Remember? That wanderer guy. You could send him Treasure items (you know, those things you sell for silver that are otherwise entirely irrelevant) and we got rewards for that.

What about something along those lines: players send treasure items to a specific account, and depending on the net gold value of those items received, the stronghold wallpaper flourishes (with assorted server wide benefits)?

Community events that actually involve playing the game (well, at the very least using the game's mail client...)

Wow, people really do complain about everything. He tried to do something nice for the community, and people just take a dump all over it. If you don't want to participate then don't. Just make sure to discard any of the rewards and don't take advantage of the double RP and AD weekends. I could never do his job. I would be cussing people out left and right.

Can you keep social media from the actual game? Just tell us that you're doing 2xRef and stop there.
Noone cares about this expansion except the current players. I cant imagine that a player returns: "Hey, lets invest 90m AD for overpowered boons, YAH!"

Something like the campaign areas... now that would be something.

If I recall from my uberbrief period on the preview shard, there are in fact adventuring locations immediately surrounding the stronghold where you can like, murderize enemies I think? Dunno, I looked at the map but never actually went very far.

As i said, a Stronghold in a open campaign map, where everyone has access to - a real community Stronghold.
May be even with some kind of player housing attached to it...

As a rule of thumb, I try not to make requests that involve lots of coding. I like to make requests that use existing art assets, and don't require storing or interacting with a lot of new 3D objects. Now, obviously, player housing is something other MMOs have done successfully, so it's not like it's impossible. But I tend to prefer to make suggestions that are all about dialogue menus and the like. No need for high tech high visibility things.

But I also have a PnP background, so there's that.

We basically complain because they do not listen to our complains.
Use RP/XP/whatever week ends as a marketing end is just not acceptable after all that happend lately.
We should'nt have to participate to anything "out-game" to get these week ends as they've always been there. Why would they change that as well ? After all nerfed/broken/removed things they did in the past 3 months.
Marketing team needs to stop taking things away from us and start rewarding us for the hours and money we spending on that game.
I'm not critisizing Strum, i'm sure he has nothing to do with all of this and he's only trying to put things in order between devs/marketing team and the playerbase, but, He should'nt have to, they just need to come here and read the comments to realise how things aren't going very well.
80% players that remain playing are hardgamers, bots and grinders. Lot of people have left.
Stop trying to release new crazy lockboxes and other thing obtainable via zen market but increase rewards from questing, dungeoning, pvp"ing". This is the way it should be. Not a complete pay to win.

While I agree that it'd be nice to have actual reward from playing the game, I will point out that they're doing some pretty significant things to the game economy here. The VIP system is going to bring down the price of wondrous bazaar items, and also decrease the price of lockbox items. And, I reitterate, the 2x RP thing is a normal event that happens every now and then. It'd make less sense to NOT have one with the release of a new module.

They need more 2x RP events in general though. Just saying.

Man, I'm gonna be super PO'd if they don't end up giving us the 2x RP event because we fail to meet the metric. Very dismayed.
