  • I have a question for everyone on the Paladin speculation: Why is everyone assuming that it will be a Guardian Fighter 'reskin' (as in Sword and Shield)? Why can't a tank class also use a two handed weapon? Or a healer class, for that matter?
  • I have a hard time seeing getting hacked, seeing as they just took my Astral Diamonds and changed nothing else, neither has ARC/PWI notified me of any sort of intrusion, which they had before. And I don't share passwords.
  • I knew I should have checked around before buying one. If I buy a Steam Card, or like I used to, a Nexon one, it doesn't matter where it's from, I pay the amount (typically 20 bucks) and it's worth 20 bucks full of points. But this? It's asking me to cover the exchange rate. That's BS. And I don't think it's entirely UGC's…
  • In 4e, what Neverwinter is based off, 'Clothing' is the 'armour' of the Wizard, in other editions, they wear Robes, and the Robes have various types of Magical ones, like Robes of the Archmage. However, pre-4e, Monks did NOT get any magical clothing or magical weapons. They ARE the magical weapons. How would you do…
  • You're lucky then. Because most players in my 29 years as a DM once they know that they can kung-fu monsters want to Kung Fu monsters. Uh huhn. No. Wizards, Clerics and Druids and Bards have spells, and each spell was it's own rules block, that did not interact with any of the other rules. And each of them actually got…
  • Insects gimme the willies! I am so happy I will never get this.
  • I never said it wasn't in the game before whatever edition. It's been, as you pointed out, since AD&D 1e, but the main shtick has always been BEATING PEOPLE UP WITH FISTS! It doesn't matter what other 'powers' every designer has ever given it, no one CARES. All they care about is 'I get to pummel monsters like Dragons with…
  • Really? Hmm. That will please a couple people I know, they've been waiting for the Warlock to play this game.
  • I HATE the Monk. It flies into everything that D&D has ever had about classes. A Fighter could (originally) be a ranged or melee combatant, wielding weapon and shield, two handed or a ranged weapon. The Wizard has Schools to focus in, the Cleric can actually be both a healer, blaster or melee. And the Rogue in 3.x had a…
  • And another not working.
  • There is no medium armour in 4e. Barbarians (which used both two handed or dual weapons) wore light, typically Hide armour, which with their high dex (on average) benefited them more than heavier armour.
  • Never played D&D 3.x or 4e? The Table Top game system pushes you (as a Fighter) to pick a weapon and stick with it for all 20-30 levels. This is pure 3-4e D&D.
  • In D&D, back in the 2e are there was magical weapon called the +3 Hammer, Dwarven Thrower. Now in the hands of anyone else than an Dwarf, it was a +2 weapon. But in the hands of a Dwarf it was +3 to hit and you could throw it for it's normal damage + 3. In an April Fools magazine, there was a list of slightly altered…
  • Uh, that's it's own class, actually. And it has it's own set of mechanics (Which by the way, would be another good Defender in the game, despite my hatred of it in 4e.) It's light armour, one handed weapon only (no shield), which makes it a whole different beast.
  • That's how it was back in 2e, they changed that in 4e. Elves are as tall as humans (All species, including Eladrin) but much slimmer.
  • If it's based in 4e, there won't be any bearded female dwarves. Off topic: Tolkien never actually went into details about the Dwarven women, actually. This bearded female Dwarves thing has been mostly a D&D player thing.
  • That's not a Falchion. This is: And it's a weapon for the Guardian Fighter.
  • Yes, but this IS based on D&D so the 'Longsword' will be the player's arming sword, and will appear as such. The great sword for the Great Weapon Fighter will be a two handed Scottish Claymore or Germanic Zweihander ('Two Handed'), I doubt that the D&D HAMSTER Sword will show up, unless it's for the Dual Weapon Ranger…
  • *Makes with the grabby hands* Waaaaaaaant!
  • For the record, Dreadnought works best with the Battlerager Fighter build, which is mostly axes and hammers/maces. And unfortunately, it can be both one hand and shield, or two handed, according to Martial Power.
  • Once I get my hands on the Foundry, I too shall remake the Tomb of Horrors...
  • I'm looking forward to killin' stuff!
  • Yoshi, they said "Great Weapon" and the icon used has both a Sword and Axe in it, so I'm thinking that all they had at the time of recording (which by the way could have been 6 months ago for all we know) all the assets they had were for Greatswords.
  • And Siegebreaker for more Two Handed Weapon damage. Shield Adept and Knight Protector for Guardian Fighters!
  • You guys are terrible...
  • In 4e Scale is better. It actually has no penalties other than one less square of movement.
  • I hope that Guardian Fighters get one handed axes and maces as well as swords. Not that I'd play one (I don't like tanking), but it's only fair, after all, I'm pretty sure all the classes get multiple weapons to play with, right?
  • Gimme a two handed weapon, lot's of armour and throw me at the front of the monsters, then I'm happy. 4e: Battlerager with an axe, or a two hand weapon fighter with feats into plate mail (which technically is just one.)
