Someone actually posted a link to a program on these forums not too long ago and it was quickly removed, but I'll bet dollars to donuts it wasn't fixed... so yes, a zen hack did /does exist.

I feel like PVP gear should have been BOP from day 1. A full set of PVP gear is something a person is supposed to earn through completing matches, and becoming a good player- its not something you should just be able to go down to the store and buy along with your groceries... it is a badge of honor.
