Thanks, Zovya! :D Gormiepooh, that sounds most unfortunate. Nobody else has had this issue... could it be that your inventory is full when you talk to Kayla? She does actually give you a key item, so that may be the issue. That part of the quest definitely works for everyone else.
Hit the nail on the head. Normal behaviour for authors? There is no such thing as "normal" behaviour for authors. Authors are people. No more, no less, just people. And as with any other group of people, some will be jerks, sometimes, and some will be super cool, friendly, appreciative people, sometimes. Some can be both,…
You appear to be mistaking Founder's perks with The Foundry. Founders are people who purchase one of the starter packs, Hero of the North or Guardian of this North, which give you various perks such as unique mounts/companions and the ring of illumination. Founder's perks have absolutely nothing to do with the Foundry. The…
As it happens, my quest takes place in the Tower District, in the Wobbly Leg Tavern, a more up-market establishment for those not wishing to slum it in the Fallen Tower. Quest Name: DD Part 1: The Wobbly Leg @yourname: @revolting Short Code: NW-DTNZTFYDS Quest Type: Story/combat Average Duration: 38 minutes Amount of…
I never said it would. In fact, I specifically said it would not directly completely cure malicious ratings. I was aiming entirely at uninformed ratings. There is a world of difference between the two, yet they are both a problem. I do not believe this to be true. As you say, they are already an issue. Personally I want no…
For my money, the best change to the review system would be a fairly simple one, both in terms of concept and execution. * Separate ratings from reviews. They are not the same thing. * You have to author a completed, published quest to unlock the right to rate other people's quests. This would weed out a lot of the…
Thanks for the comments! Glad you enjoyed it. :) Just what it says; the quest provides unique interactable elements for all classes. For example, great weapon fighters / guardian fighters can use dungeoneering to place torches in the unlit tunnel. When the quest was first released, only dungeoneering and thievery were…
Thanks, karitr. :) And, yes, I agree with you about the ambient sound in the inn at the end, it isn't at all appropriate for the situation. But, neither is any of the other ambient human sounds. It was a tough call, in the end I had to settle for a mildly inappropriate ambience over glaring silence.
Not only can I not log in to the foundry, I also can't play other people's foundry content. I get kicked out when trying to load in to their maps. Sad times!
Excellent work! I've watched a bunch of these, they are both enjoyable and useful to authors. Would love to see a run through of The Wobbly Leg (details in signature) if you're still taking submissions for season 2.
I'm also on mindflayer, but personally I find joining the chat channel "NW_Foundry" and making it a nice bright colour a good alternative, as chat channels are pan-server and also carry over to the foundry itself.
Thanks again for featuring my humble quest on the show, and for having me on to talk about it. It was great to see you chaps (and lady) run through it, and to get your critical thoughts on both my own work and foundry work in general. From my perspective, the Forge stream and my quest are quite closely linked; it was…
Stunning looking environments! Superb attention to detail on all of the screenies, but what really struck me was the books on the overhead beams. :) Wonderful work. Can't wait to see it live. And I love that you're planning it out on paper first, shows the amount of thought you're pouring into this. Great stuff!
Thanks for the recommendation! Wobbly Leg does have a comments thread, incidentally... here. As someone recommended mine, I shall recommend another's. @sabotender's Save The Princess - NW-DBA7YIURL
I feel your pain, man. I feel your pain. Anyway, I've played it now... 5/5 and full tip. Good work! Very enjoyable from the outset, with a great premise. I'm not a fan of "out of character" humour that is becoming prevalent with authors (with the l33t cleric, disconnecting rogue and tank who stands in red circles, for…
I make stuff because I like making stuff. If other people also like the stuff I've made, that's cool. But I will continue to like making stuff even if they don't. Besides, would you really want to be part of the foundry community if you were somehow better than everybody else? I want to enjoy other people's quests, not…
Wow, thanks for including me in your top 3! I'm honoured. :D Mine would be, in no order: * Also lovepeas "Nightmare on Market Street", wonderful dream sequence. NW-DHFS4C3EV * sabotender's "Save the Princess!" - great zone design and funny story. NW-DBA7YIURL * undecided yet, I'll have to come back to this one!
I have no idea what is going on here, who is to blame for what, which person starting arguing, or who needs to be the bigger man. (It's always the other guy.) Nor do I wish to know. What I DO know is that it's a shame to see this happen. I enjoyed the Forge stream. It was both entertaining and educational. It was worth…
And, now I'm done. Thoughts! * The cave: atmospheric. I like the root-lights and gushing water especially. * Dialogue: Well written! Even though you've said yourself this is a hack-and-slash, your writing style is fun, you should consider doing more of it. * That said: "half-Korean"..? Jarringly out of place in this…
Thanks, Trips! All good points, although I must dispute one; "welbeing" is a correct spelling in British English. However, it's been flagged up a few times, so I'll change it to the more universally accepted version avoid it coming up again. ;) It hadn't occurred to me that death would (ironically) be a get-out for the…
