Well as long as you're putting words into my mouth and making straw man arguments with your "feeling threatened remarks" without any sort of logic behind it, I hope one day you'll learn how to play without a crutch and find someone you can group with instead of your NPC's. :) There's a guild out there somewhere for people…
That is so sad that even in an MMO you can't interact with actual people. I guess NPC companions are your only out then. Sorry man. Didn't know your life was so ****ty. I seriously feel bad now. Oh, also, yes the NPC tank companions strips a GF of their tank role, and the cleric NPC the DC of their healer/support role…
Planning ahead of time and paying attention IS part of the skill. The same as it is in chess. I would LOVE for it to be more reaction based as in a fighter, but, quite frankly, I don't think we have the technology yet.
Bring the player eh? And yet you flood dungeons with NPC companions? That actively replace what should be a party member's role denying them the experience of playing that role and contributing to a party? Love your logic. Please, tell me more about how you have grown attached to a cardboard cutout npc that you see 5 other…
Welcome to tanking in neverwinter. If you've realized this you are one step closer to tanking effectively than 50% of the other GF's out there. ALL action games are about pattern recognition. Dark Souls, DMC, Mega Man, etc, enemies have attack patterns that you must learn to recognize and circumvent successfully. The…
I remember when they had games centered around bringing A.I. companions into dungeons. These were called "Single Player RPG's". The point of an MMO-RPG is to interact with other people which nowadays means you hit K, select a queue and wait. No one's class should be rendered useless because they bring in an AI companion.…
Actually, no his comment is quite sound. The Devs have stated this is their intended direction with the game. As a guardian fighter you need to watch your enemies animations. If you are repeatedly getting hit by the orc cleric's knock down, it's you needing to learn to drop your guard and not attack so often so you can get…
You only get +.5% flat damage reduction per point anyways. Your points are probably better spent elsewhere, unless you really like looking at a high AC.
That's because you shouldn't be trying to tank adds. They are for the TR/GWF/CW/DC to burn down. Your focus should be on the boss, and only the boss unless someone is truly in danger of biting it. Also, if you still don't know what mark does at whatever level you're at, try reading the tool-tip. It tells you flat out what…
Completely agree. The GWF needs work to bring it more in line with other classes for the first 30-35 levels. Every other class comes out able to do it's job effectively while the GWF has to wait at least 30 levels.
Destroyer grants greatest DPS. Instigator comes 2nd. And sentinel is broken, seeing as the GWF cannot tank effectively. Period. You want to actually play the GWF to know what you're talking about? I'm glad you love the GWF. So do I, but you need to take your blindfold off and realize that it's the WORST class in the game…
Enforced Threat + Cleaving marked targets. Also, you shouldn't be holding your shield up against a pack of mobs to lose your shield gauge in the first place. Yes, you have a shield, but you need to know when to face tank. Secondly, you shouldn't be trying to hold threat on a group of trash anyways. You need to hit your…
The destroyer buff lasts what? 5 seconds? It should last at least 15. And it needs to be refreshed as long as you hit as many enemies as you first hit with an AoE and refresh and stack if you hit any more new enemies. Supposedly, but the main way you avoid damage in this game is by not taking damage in the first place…
The simple fact of the matter is GWF's have the worst damage modifiers on their abilities in the game and must level up to about level 30+ to even begin approaching viable levels of damage. Even then, only one spec seems to be working and that is Destroyer. Ask yourself why you play a class that for 35 levels is useless…
That's great. However, you trying to make the entire situation of a GWF having the worst damage modifiers of any class, not having an effective tactical skill and constantly having to eat damage seem like an okay thing isn't. Why should levels 1-35 be an absolute nightmare while every other class is viable from the…
No it's not that, it's that you have a weapon with 80-100 damage doing 36-40 damage on a single target strike while a tank class, the guardian fighter is doing 41-46 damage on an AoE strike with a weapon doing 42-51 damage. Then you take into account the GWF has no real means of mitigation and must eat 80% of the damage…
And so are GWF. Please, tell me, in your head, how does a two handed weapon class do LESS damage statistically than the guardian fighter with heavier armor and a shield, wielding a one handed weapon? Please, I'd love to hear your lack of logic. A GF hits for 100-110% of it's weapon damage on it's AoE ability. A GWF hits…
That's D&D PnP. Not Neverwinter. Also, if what they said was true, why is the tank companion able to hold threat? Threat exists, and it's meant to be held. However threat generation for the GF is broken, while the rogue's damage and DC's heals throw up too much.
No, resting at a fire heals injuries. I've had this happen too. Had to sit there for ten minutes in order for it remove the injury. Read the buff when you are at a fire next time.
GWF's have the worst damage modifiers on their abilities out of any other class. The fact you haven't died means you're swigging pots/had a friend helping/have been using an NPC companion. Every other class can solo comfortably until level 30. GWF can't. When a GF using a one handed sword with half the damage of your two…
It's not soloing because it gives you access to the abilities of another class you wouldn't have access to otherwise if you were just using your own class. Whether or not it's an NPC or taken into account that everyone should have one is irrelevant. Soloing means you're alone. If an NPC is with you, you're not alone.
No you didn't and no you didn't. There is no way you solo'd a party dungeon without spending a fortune in pots. If you had an NPC cleric with you, you weren't soloing. And the hell is Cloak Watch? You mean the Cloak Tower? That's a level 15 dungeon. If you solo'd it at level 22, I'm not impressed, since your gear went up a…
Not really. I'm able to get by using my classes abilities. You have to have outside help from an NPC because the abilities of the GWF just don't cut it. Also, by your logic, since you use Unstoppable and Chain mail, you're even worse off. Keep digging man, you'll hit rock bottom eventually.
I wonder about the damage debuff on Wicked Strike. Why are you PUNISHING the player for doing what the class is supposed to do? You should get a damage BUFF for every enemy hit beyond the first, not a debuff. That'd be like if they gave a Guardian Fighter a debuff to his damage the more damage he absorbed with his shield…
