So looking at your power% it seems you have a DPS spec which means your forte is boosting damage. You'll have over 100k hitpoints from your TIL, but if you don't guard yourself and avoid combat advantage you'll get eaten alive by trash mobs who surround you. Your playstyle has to be mobile, always looking to avoid being…
There needs to be a giant flashing neon sign on the character sheet that says this. I bet almost nobody realizes the defense stat% is NOT straight damage reduction.
Yes, I've been watching that thread. He removed out of ratio gear (powerful mount collars) and his percentages went up. EXACTLY what the OP in this thread was warning us about. If the mount collars gave more combined so that the ratio hit 1:15 then the percentages would stay the same. In effect, that player is nerfed for…
I hosted the image on google photos - that might be the issue. LOL shoulda used imgshack Anyway, the Cragmire I just healed 5 mins ago was all 80s except for one nub at lvl 28. I'm 28k, the tank was 40k, one of the DPS was 34k, and the other DPS was 18k. The run went very very smooth. I barely had to heal, the Flower…
LOL I heard my name and appeared in your thread! The %'s that you see are the ratings compared to your total item level (TIL) displayed at the top of your stat sheet. For every 1000 the rating is below your TIL, you lose 1% off of the base 50%. Any ratings that are above the TIL are ignored and wasted. Example: lets say…
You see that staff of flowers? I'm pretty stoked on that one. I knew I wanted one eventually, but I hit a tarmalune jackpot around level 78 with a daily key and got one from the tarmalune trader. The head armor is just what I've got so far from Zuma Bag farming -- I'm not going to keep that veil forever. My plan is to run…
I would love to see somebody with 50k+ recording a CT run for Youtube or Twitch or whatever with their out of ratio gear. If that supergeared tank can't hold aggro or properly defend himself with proper teamwork then that would be something that the devs would not be able to ignore.
I'm not talking about screenshots of numbers, I'm talking playing the game and being able to succeed or not. When a tank geared for epics that succeeds at epics can't tank normal, then the devs might need to look at it. And there is a difference between "I can't do this" and "I can't easily blow through this without…
OKAY THEN, now we have something. All we have to do to prove the OP's case is have this tank remove the strictly "out of ratio" gear and go at it again. If suddenly this 50k tank who couldn't tank CT is now able to do it ---> see where I am going with this? Obviously, this can't be WAI, if this is the case. We report this…
The only leveling area that is bugged anymore is Mt. Hotenow. You can skip it for now and proceed to Whispering Caverns and get along just fine. I bug-reported Hotenow the morning they released the last hotfix. If you have problems leveling, try to remember these tips: Pull mob groups into safe areas so you don't…
Just to be clear, are you claiming that you can't tank mobs in CT with a 50k setup or whatever? Do you have a large amount of "out of ratio gear" like maxed mount collars, maxed armor and weapon enhancement enchants, mythic mount attack powers, tenebrous enchants, high level conditional stat gear that gives temp bonuses,…
Just curious about the players complaining about the scaling making them worse, help me out here please: Is this ONLY in endgame stuff that you are having this issue? In other words, when you are comparing yourself to other players with lower TIL, are these also 80's like yourselves with 25k+ TIL? Assuming "yes" to the…
From my post above that you have an issue with -- I wrote: The other queues and other content might be completely borked and terrible, though. I've heard a lot of horror stories. I'm not inclined to just dismiss the horror stories out of hand just because I've had numerous good experiences in the lesser content. How am I…
Read what I actually wrote. I literally say exactly "these are my experiences in the normal lesser RDQ's, everything else might be messed up for all I know." Look at what you quoted. I don't think I could have been any more clear, and still.... here we are again. LOL
I hear what you're trying to say, but I'm actually playing the game as it is right now and you're simply wrong. I've run dozens and dozens of RDQ's now. The only issues I've had AT ALL aside from nubs not knowing to concentrate adds in the boss fight at the end of Cloak Tower (hey they don't know yet... so i now say…
Hey hustin1, could this type of thinking be applied to Pirate's Skyhold? What if you used old-school tactics like pulling groups into safe zones to fight so you don't overpull aggro during a fight with mobs that zip backwards in animations and get more enemies to come running at you? The areas with little islands and…
Augments in group content can still be a good idea. The primary utility for having a summoned out is to help provide you with combat advantage against your enemies, to help stun or control mobs, or to absorb attacks that would otherwise be hitting you. Notice that a DPS in a group setting has all those bases covered for…
I'm sorry if I miscommunicated. I'm not suggesting you do anything with your CA stat, I'm simply pointing out that if you are in the right positioning you will do double damage from having CA against your enemies. You know, being in their "purple zone". You don't need to invest in stats for that, its crazy strong compared…
Well, if you ran RDQ's recently and saw what has happened with player behavior due to the scaling down of lvl80 "demigods" compared to the nubs they were running the content with, one could make the case that a nerf was absolutely called for and worked out pretty well for the most part in that particular content. You can't…
There's probably another relevant insignia power you can get --> Survivor's Blessing: heal when you deflect. But if you are having trouble surviving solo, level as a healer. The healer spec is now the versatile and less-niche side of paragons since the rework. To do more damage, pay attention to getting and maintaining…
Man, I kinda wanna Q up with you on some stuff just so you can have a good run for once! LOL You have like the worst luck bro. I'm having a really good time with RDQ's right now. Just finished Temple of Spider (normal) and it went really well. No pickups. People helped me with adds. No lone ranger risk takers. We had 2…
Update: just ran a Cragmire in the random Q as healer with my cleric. About 1 minute wait until Q pop. We had an 80 GWF, the tank was a 66 GF, a 42 TR, a 20 Wizard, and me at 60 Cleric. The run went off FAST and perfectly. No deaths. Not really even hard to heal. I took no aggro at all from the GWF or GF. The boss took…
On a different note, there is a thread started by hypnotorious in the feedback section that IMO captures the heart of why the scaling system might be failing higher level characters with specialized gear. https://forum.arcgames.com/neverwinter/discussion/1259619/why-scaling-isnt-hitting-its-intended-goals#latest Basically,…
Man, you're giving me flashbacks to the early days when being a cleric meant running like a madman around the area while your teammates desperately try to pull aggro off of you so you can stop to heal the team a little bit more. Healtanking was a very real problem --> and it sounds like IT'S BAAAAAAACK! HAMSTER. I was…
Only certain areas with group content are scaled. If you go to Tower District as lvl 80 you will be immortal. Scaling is for dungeons and skirmishes and so on.
After this morning's patch, the Mt Hotenow area is still very much out of whack. I'm not exaggerating, check it out for yourselves. The minions there are unreasonable, and much harder to deal with than mobs in Whispering Caverns, which is supposedly a harder area.
I also can vouch for healer, mega-easy compared to trashGWF. Melees are in a really tight spot right now unless they can heal themselves. shadowstarhtid, I forgot to remind you that clerics have that threatdown ability Divine Glow that also recovers divinity. Maybe you wont ever really need it to recover div because of how…
Thanks, jules. I'm not being facetious, those are good tips. Especially #3. You gotta be able to walk away from this thing. The devs aren't going to learn their lesson -- if they were going to, it would have been after at most the third time the volcano of player grief erupted, but here we are at number seven or eight?…
It's not THAT bad. Don't worry, you can still wreck lower level areas (except Hotenow) just fine even with things not quite perfect yet. Also, people have reported that some legacy campaign areas are crazy right now. Apparently the River District is a nightmare, but Well of Dragons is not borked at all. Go figure. I played…
