  • So far my only regret is that there is no monster named "The Darkness" for me to cast Magic Missile on while loudly announcing my actions to the party.
  • Epic Temple of the Spider from the last boss. It's a fairly common drop and the stats aren't good, so the prices are low now. I plan on using one up as a skin for my tier 2 armor when I get it. It looks great.
  • The only way this happens is if your GF is a Conqueror build, which means he can't block without losing a huge chunk of damage, and he can't tank as well. Which makes them rather like a slower GWF that can't even get out of red zones with sprint. Not exactly optimized. Moreover, your TR is doing something wrong if it's…
  • Knocking off adds isn't exploiting. What else are knockbacks good for? Is it exploiting to knock off adds in Temple of the Spider too? Or Spellplague? If the devs didn't want people to use knockbacks, they would place the boss fight in an enclosed arena like Karrundax or Frozen Heart, but no, the dracolich is surrounded by…
  • Well, the sad truth is that you can't really expect to beat an endgame dungeon with the same ease if you're not optimizing your party makeup. Right now a GF or GWF is not optimal. You can probably carry 1 or even 2 of them through Castle Never, but 3 is ridiculous.
  • To be fair, most CWs are terrible too. Frankly I got so fed up with it on my Cleric that I rolled a CW myself (Had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong). As for Guardians doing more damage than bad wizards...how does that make having a Guardian optimized? If you can't beat a good TR's damage, and I see you're…
  • I'm on Mindflayer and I'd be very interested to see a good GF DPS, because I haven't ever met one that did more DPS than a CW, much less come close to a TR. What's your in game name? I'll look you up.
  • The only way GWFs can even come close to TR damage is if the TR is terribly spec'd, using PvP gear, and has no idea what he's doing. All else being equal expect a TR to do about 150% the damage of a GWF. A properly spec'd/geared/played TR will wipe the floor with any other class, maybe not for the biggest AE trash pulls,…
  • What possible boss could you be fighting that you're not also fighting a ton of adds? Playing my 60 CW my entire job is handling adds. Killing the boss is the TR's job. I toss a few debuffs and Magic Missiles when I can, but I'm not there for my single target damage, which is pathetic, but for massive controls and AE…
  • It depends, what's your base crit severity that's displayed on your character sheet? If it's already 100%, then vorpal isn't doing anything for you. If it's 75% and the 24% from vorpal is stacking on top of that to give you 99%, then it does appear to be working.
  • You can get a drake badge weapon for less than half that. Those are super common. Stats are decent. Top out at 784 damage. More than serviceable until you get a Castle Never weapon.
  • I grouped with Grey while he was experimenting without Astral Shield. Full disclosure, I have a lvl 60 Cleric and Wizard, he's a guildy. I was on my Wizard, he was healing Epic Idris. The result? Surprisingly good. One person dropped on the final fight by standing right on the shadow portal and got hit by 6 orbs…
  • A cleric can, however, boost a group's DPS far beyond what she's personally capable of. Properly feated and played you can keep about a 50% uptime on Hallowed Ground and maybe 70% uptime on Divine Glow. Both of those spells are massive boosts to the group's DPS and real force multipliers when you combine it with 40%…

  • Keep in mind that, as a rule of thumb, anything past 2000 rating except power starts suffering diminishing returns, to the point where building past 3000 rating becomes heavily penalized. Your bonuses from ability scores like Wisdom and Charisma are tracked separately, though. So is AC. That's why AC is a very good…
  • Manshoon, AKA Orbakh, the last Manshoon clone.
  • Double post.
  • A cleric will only be able to outdamage very poorly geared or poorly played rogues. You would also be doing the whole group a disservice by focusing on your personal damage rather than the group's damage. You can do 50k total damage with a Flame Strike, or you can buff the whole group's damage by a ton by using Hallowed…
  • Try a non-combat pet if you're more concerned about pet longevity. A cat won't die at all and will continue giving you stat buffs as well as in effect 3 extra gear slots. That's nothing to scoff at. 980,000 astral diamonds are steep, though.
  • Cleric never becomes useless because it's the only one that heals you for a scaling percentage of your health aside from the Angel, and that's not available to anyone yet. If you insist on a DPS pet, I only know about Phoera, which is decent because it has AE attacks and an always-on damage aura. I haven't used the Fire…
  • Definitely trying all the classes in actual combat to see which one I prefer most! Sometimes I surprise myself.
