It's because Aura of courage on Paladin is mega effective on lower lvls and makes companions into killing machines (I think they do much more damage than player, especially those with AoE skills). It procs with absolutely everything and that's why lvling Paladin is painfully easy. On 60+ content it seems balanced though.
