The premade character should display in your "character creation" screen. Go in game and select "Change character" then look for "create premade level 70 character" or something like that. I had to go into character selection twice for it to work myself as it was not there the first time.

My friend got to level 20 with alchemy and there was no task to gain experience next, so earning knowledge would be useless. He's level 20 in alchemy and I'm level 7.
