I liked your level design in general, although there are a LOT of map transitions (maybe you could merge a few of these). The pacing is a bit uneven and the writing could use a spellcheck, but it's very atmospheric in general and I think you may have a story in here someplace I'd like to enjoy more at some point.
I liked the general look of the environments and attention to small details (thanks for putting in a little reminder about characters of shorter stature), as well as the concept of the chase scene (even if it didn't feel like a pursuit, exactly). The escape in the passage was actually my favorite part. Couple of thoughts:…
Totally dug this. You need a campfire at the beginning and the unexpected jumping puzzle at the end after the chest is, well, diabolical... great work!
Just played the first one, Wicks and Things. Really enjoyed it, looking forward to playing the rest of the campaign! It just needs some more atmosphere, but I really liked all the little bits you can find in exploration, and the humor was well balanced. Nice work!
So I just finished playing this. You have some fantastic ideas here, but it needs a lot more polish. First, fix some grammar issues, of course. And I strongly suggest adjusting the text about the oddly named villages before Cryptic/PWE flag it. More importantly, some story elements are broken when infiltrating the bandit…
Thanks, TR was definitely what I'd been considering as the other option. I'm giving them both a try - so far, the DPS from the TR feels far higher, but I do like seeing a dwarf with a sword twice as tall as he is...
And here I was going to post a friendly bit about adding a small hint for people that don't even know that functionality exists in the game (I didn't). Sorry you decided to get mad about it. I otherwise enjoyed it, as I noted in my review.
I would strongly suggest doing that so you can get some additional help with the translation. I liked the use of environmental effects and the jumping puzzle, but the story felt a little muddled and hard to follow here and there.
Maybe I'm just missing something incredibly obvious but I'm not quite finding how to open the inner gates - I've opened the large doors past the campsite and interacted with the (first?) large chain, but the gate hasn't opened and I'm unable to progress, I think.
I wouldn't want encounters to appear on a timer - players may need to AFK or just want to spend time exploring and that will throw your timetable completely off. While I don't know whether you can have an encounter spawn when one dies, I definitely know you can have it spawn from dialogue options, and you could tie those…
So I've lost an entire evening to this YouTube channel and considering grabbing Fraps to do something similar, albeit starting from the perspective of somebody who's already been playing for a few weeks. Good work Tsumoro, I dig your style.
