If the goal of scaling is to make all content relevant, the rewards need to be relevant as well. This doesn't mean that ETOS needs to drop ToMM rings, but the rewards should still be useful. Even the newest alt will never use Alliance Raid Gear.
@userutf8 thanks for posting your power analysis spreadsheet, much more detailed than what I had slapped together. I agree Hindering Arrow should be available to the Hunter path. It makes sense both thematically and mechanically. I would suggest that it could even be made a Hunter exclusive encounter, swapping with Rapid…
Oathkeeper makes soloing utterly trivial. Even if you prefer to main a tank, loadouts exist for a reason. Roles only matter in a party context. You can then level and grind "with no balancing penalties" and still play a tank in dungeons. Complaining that this takes away player choice would be like whining that soloing on a…
There are a lot of gaming mice that offer a feature like this. Either in the form of DPI up/down buttons or a DPI toggle that switches between high and low settings (sometimes called a 'sniper' button). Having it built into the mouse means your husband would have the capability in any other game he plays as well. Just an…
I haven't had a chance to run ACT on it, but the combat log shows Careful Attack doing 0 damage on all procs. ETA: ACT showed a total of four damaging procs over the course of a full expedition. Testing on dummies has yet to yield a single proc. Warden needs significant magnitude tweaks to its powers to even have a chance…
Honestly, I'm going to have to state that I disagree with the current deluge of salt and tears and think the paladin changes are (mostly) good. I will need more time in group content to offer a solid opinion on that aspect, but the soloing is very solid.
I've seen comments made several times about "unique" builds being gone. Every one of these posts ignores the fact that if you were running a "unique" build before M16 it was definitely suboptimal, possibly even trash, anyway. M16 makes it at least a little bit more difficult to pick trap talents, although it's still…
Combined rating is added to each of the "main" stats that is not HP or Power. Meaning Armor Penetration, Defense, Critical Strike, Critical Avoidance, Combat Advantage Bonus, Awareness, Accuracy, and Deflect.
No, he's talking about the intro quest. You can skip the scene in the Moonstone Mask and go directly to the Yawning Portal, thereby missing out on the chest of gear.
Rather than spamming the various class threads, I'll just put some general comments on damage/combat here. The current stated 20/60/20 split for at-wills/three encounters/dailies feels bad on all three of the classes I've tried so far, with Fighter being the worst offender. Encounters feel like I'm equipping Mjolnir and…
The materials required to craft the various Essences (Focus, Calm, Haste) are still missing. However, judging from tooltips and datamined info, I suspect that these will only be available through the Zen market and lockboxes. If you make certain crafting materials available only for Zen, I will never spend another dollar…
asterdahl already answered that. "existing professions packs will not be changed over as there is no 1:1 equivalent in the new system. Instead you'll be able to exchange the contents for goods just as if you had opened them before the update."
Reposting the math involving the possible change to Aspect of the Serpent that was mentioned. This is only considering a swap of AotP for AotS, it doesn't involve the second passive. Note that in any boss fight where you can't get positional CA you would be running AotP/AotS instead of AotS/SV. Some numbers against bosses:…
What I expect out of a new mod is enjoyment. That enjoyment has no need to be coupled to a gear/IL treadmill. I've already seen the Gallant gear, I may use some of it as transmogs, but that's about it. That doesn't bother me. It's not like all MMOs require constant gear progression to be successful.
Also related to this, the Theft of Vitae attack is now almost completely uncoupled from the voice line. The attack also no longer occurs immediately after reaching 10 stacks, but some inconsistent amount of time later.
Not necessarily. All that does is ensure excessive power-creep beyond what we already have. I also find that it's a valuable indicator of those who know their class vs those that just chase IL.
On a more productive note: Predator/Prey now seems to be functioning correctly. Although it may be assumed because it is in the archery tree, it might be good to change the tooltip to clarify that the damage bonus is only applied to ranged powers.
That is incorrect. You can get up to 6 Bladestorm procs per at-will if flurry is active. 1 from the initial hit, 2 from the 2 Blade Hurricane procs, and 3 from the 3 associated Piercing Blade procs.
Rotations like this are why so many people in this thread seem to think HR does poor DPS... The described rotation is bad on at least two different levels. 1) Initiating with LSS before using TC and building up Battlecrazed means you will almost never have the LSS buff for both of your main powers. So your own buff window…
Please don't do this. You can avoid the push back by jumping if that's what you need. The push can be used as a valuable re-positioning tool in other circumstances. The current implementation is more flexible, with a wider variety of use cases.
