Gary Gygax wasn't always right you know. I'd have no problems with bales of straw if we had baling machines in there as well. My point was about realism in following a process from start to finish for what is placed on the map. Corn-sheafs can be done by hand (in fact I have done it, after cutting it with a long-scythe) so…
So someone from here has gone to another site and pretended to be from here? Pretended to be themselves? Or someone else? And what would they gain from doing this? All The Best
I'll be honest, I think I came close to burning out on the foundry. An Ancient Curse has maybe 250 hours in it in total. But that was done, from first map choice to as it is now, in around 3.5 weeks. That's a lot of hours/week. Part 1 of my 2nd Campaign is about 75% built in terms of maps, but needs all the storyboarding…
I can tell you this; if you play my quest and no matter what you think about it you are going to give me an automatic 5 Star rating then, honestly, I'd rather you just didn't rate it - send me any feedback you feel appropriate via a PM. I am only interested in honest ratings. Not every Author. I think my 1st part is, now…
Now you're starting to understand. And whatever mechanism is put in place to prevent this "abuse / exploit" someone will find a way to abuse/exploit that. And so on. And so on. And so on. And so on. Best thing to do - don't let other people's actions be the determining factor in your enjoyment of the foundry. All The Best
I regularly get nothing from Foundry Quests. And because it was so common I started paying special attention to that element. I reckon, based on the notes I do have, and memory from before I started taking notes that my breakdown is something like this: 40% Nothing in the chest. 40% Something in the chest, but it never…
100 times ^ this. As an Author I value a genuine 3*, or even a genuine 1* over a false 5*. For me 3* is "it works, there's nothing structurally (game breaking) wrong with the maps, the quest makes sense, and there's maybe some typo's, and a few missed default labels etc". 4* is "Its a very polished, well put together, and…
^ This. Any rating/review system that doesn't allow players to register their dislike of a quest is utterly meaningless. As Authors we have to remember two very important things: 1) The Rating System is as much, if not more, for Player's benefit as it is ours. 2) If you can't take negative feedback don't press publish. And…
My personal integrity is not for sale, for money or ideological reasons. I will always give an honest review/rating. If I were to do any other I would be no better than the people who lower themselves and sell their integrity for quick XP in an exploit map. Once we start trying to use dishonesty as a weapon against the…
What would be even better would be "death plane" planes of variable size like the water planes, so we can really be inventive with them. Then add scaleable "damage planes" of varying sizes as well so we can actually make the fire effects cause damage, and we could really get to work on creatively designed maps that offer…
OK, nice to see some, even many, of the more common exploit maps removed. Many thanks to any and all who reported such maps and to Cryptic / PWE for taking action. Some measure of faith has been restored. All The Best
Ooooooh, if you are thinking up things to add for us, can we have a "death plane" that we can vary the height of so we can, for example, have Lava fields that kill if you enter them at all, rather than having to fall a long way in to them? All The Best
You can only add completed and published Quests to a Campaign list, otherwise it messes up all the search function for ALL the quests linked to that Campaign. So unless part 3 is published it shouldn't be linked in the Campaign list. All The Best
I understand the point you make. Make sure everyone gets more plays/ratings. But that doesn't address the root cause of the issue - appallingly bad menu/list coding in the Foundry. Hopefully things may improve with the upcoming patch (22nd August). All The Best
Agreed. I had misunderstood. The main problem I have is that each @handle can only rate a given quest once. If I rate "Into The Forest" again all it does is overwrite the existing rating. And, given my experience in trying to help another Author attain Daily Eligibility, I am not at all sure that multiple plays by a single…
OK, just played this through. Liked the story itself. Felt the environments could do with perhaps a bit more detail to really make them stand out. Am send a PM with more detailed feedback to avoid dropping an spoilers for those who haven't played it yet. All The Best
Just a thought. You need to register with GuildLaunch, and then apply to join Scribes Enclave. Scribe's Enclave manager informs me all current applications to Scribe's Enclave have been approved, and posting rights assigned. All The Best
At Scribes? I know for a fact at least one new member got posting rights yesterday. So I am wondering if there is a problem somewhere with things not showing up to be approved. Will send another PM. It would help if you let me know the name you have registered with, then we can at least start looking in the right area.…
Mmmm, strange. I've been tweaking and publishing mine for the last 3 hours or so. Had no problems, and updates are going live. Hope you get it sorted soon. All The Best
Honestly, no matter what they add to the Foundry until they add real bosses, and boss fight timers, the whole thing is a horse with three legs. All The Best
