It depends on the mood and the crowd you'll play with. I'll probably play anything that shows that it took dedication and talent to be created. Like most people, sometimes I look for good stories, and other times I just look for some bad guys to mash down so I'll play whatever suits the mood, as long as it's well done.
Still some people don't seen to understand that this game won't be a Pen and Paper representation of D20 rules, that what Cryptic is taking into Neverwinter is Forgotten Realms, the setting, not a set of rules that is meant to be played by 4-6 people with a lot of die and free time on a rainy evening. If you ever got your…
Cleric, but I hope there will be alternatives to the "devoted" sub-class. Still, devoted cleric sounds like fun, with Great Weapon Fighter as a close second choice.
The video for the beta announcement reminds me so much of the tv commercials we get here around 3am, so overacted that scream "we're ripping you off, but we do it with a big smile!". Oh well, I'll stick to the free download and give it a try anyway. The worst that can happen is that I don't like it and uninstall it.
I don't want to think all that negatively, but truth is that with Elder Scrolls Online and Archeage entering Beta soon, Neverwinter has lost a lot of leverage and has fallen well under the radar. Can't forget either that TERA is going free to play in a week or so and offers true action packed combat like Neverwinter does,…
Can't say for sure of course, but I believe at most you'll get to save your character's name. Think of it, the game release data is the day it goes live, and that's exactly the day that you can begin to create your release characters (pre-release and pre-launch events aside).
As much as I'm losing enthusiasm for Neverwinter's release as time passes, the OP makes no sense. Those are in no way signs of failure. They may be signs of the game not being directly copypasted from PnP, but that maybe matters only to PnP geeks (0.000001% of the PC gaming population?). The rest of the world want a good…
I posted about one week ago that a friend of mine with no friends or family at neither Cryptic or PWE received keys to invite him to some "playtests". Basically he is allowed to play/test Neverwinter in some predefined schedules. For some reason that I am yet to understand(I didn't receive any kind of explanation or…
I don't like any of the options presented. I'd vote for something like "No, unless big sized characters are offered the ability to reach places that halflings and dwarves can't." And besides, dwarves aren't any less of a mass than a human. It's just diferently spread, but if a dwarf fits somewhere, so does a human. In…
I agree with some posters in that this game would probably be better off without Auction House due to its nature, but I guess you can always opt for not using it.
Can I ride a dire tiger? :) I'm not sure if Neverwinter is going to be separated in "servers" like most other MMO's, but perhaps it would be a smart move to have separate RP servers for players that value things like what I'm seeing in this and other threads (no dangerous looking creatures summoning/riding in town, running…
Bots and goldspammers are what ruin most mmo's and destroy them. I understand it can't be easy to deal with it, but any extra layer that prevents the chat from being flooded by goldspammers is a great step up on how the players view the game and their inclination to invest themselves in it.
Well, the cryptic silence (hah hah) is killing the hype and anticipation for this game. It's a shame that there isn't any kind of communication from Neverwinter's team to the playerbase and all we get here is a few regular users that got promoted to mod only based on their level of forum activity, with no knowledge on…
I'd like to see all kind of demons and devils. From Quasit to Obyrith and anything in between. Vrock, Glabrezu, Hezrou, Marylith, Bebilith, Balor, Kyton, Erinyes, Yugoloth, Pit Fiend... Each with their unique model.
After I read that in 4th edition Lathander is Amaunator in hiding (which implies an alignment shift and decades of deceiving thousands of acolytes, clerics and paladins) I decided I wouldn't bother with any 4th Ed lore. Too much retconning and absurd events for an oldschool DnD'er like myself. I rather gods stay away from…
If I can make a wish for Neverwinter, it's to implement diferent levels of difficulty and reward them appropriately so all kind of players can find a home and keep interested on achieving the next thing. Personally, there is nothing that turns me off more than hitting the level cap and beating the hardest dungeon of the…
