Those numbers are a display error. back out and try again and you'll be back in at most the 7k range

Dude it's still in beta. It's just 'open' instead of 'closed', hence the influx of new players. Relax. It's just a game, and pretty much every MMO has had some server issues. Granted, queues should be handled better than this, but it's just a hiccup that will get fixed, like in every other game.

I'm most looking forward to the Trickster rogue. Rogues are my first choice in every game, they're just so awesome.
