• what worked for me is {1}: I unselected "full-screen" (located over "safe mode" choice) and then it just runs in a window. Loads fine and then you {2}: open options in game and select "full-screen" again, select resolution and if you can deal with it every time you can also {3}: go ahead and change your graphics options…
