I've been playing since beta and I can probably count the number of unplanned server crashes on one hand (well..maybe one and a half hands) =) But for what it's worth, most of them have been in the last couple months.
Not to be snarky, but did you ever play Rift, Wow, or EQ? I'm pretty sure every established MMO, no matter how old or big, has server crashes. If I had a dollar for every time I crashed on the Timorous Deep Boat and logged in under the water drowning... :P
Same, had a really rubberbandy CTA in progress, then a flash freeze moment followed by 4 insta-dead party members, then disconnected and "server offline". Booo =( Hey, maybe they will extend CTA for us again? =)
I agree with every single word of the OP here. As a 60 TR who's played since early beta, I'm continually frustrated that the endgame content is *so*overtuned that you either have to have a guild to run it, or you can wait in the eternal queue.
