Same issue - just filed a ticket. I'll just have my Zen refunded and wait until the issue is fixed.

Relax, peeps. It's just launch instability. It'll pass in time. Everyone just re-log and check your character list again. Your characters haven't been wiped. If you relog, they should appear again. At least mine did.
