Probably more important than making them hit harder is to use less divinity so that utilizing them doesn't mean emptying your pool quickly so that you can't use divinity on encounters. Now that Etheral Boon is fixed, I imagine that it's going to be a bit harder to keep the divinity up, and being in soothing-light mode…
Dog simply can't take the abuse and doesn't do enough damage to justify its short existence. Man-at-Arms can (usually.) Thinking about trying to level a wayward wizard just to see if it can tie things up enough for me to take them down., and hopefully stay out of the AoEs.
That will help at least. Soothing light ticks fast so potentially a lot of burst heals. If they're making the SL heal bigger, then the RS bursts will be bigger too. Last problem is simply the divinity cost.
I currently use punishing light when all of my encounters are on cooldown and it does a respectable amount of extra damage. But I can only do that because of an apparently bugged feat that they've just "fixed." ;) If we're intended to use punishing/soothing light then the divinity/tick cost needs to decrease a lot. Maybe…
Then hopefully those GWFs and GFs can mitigate a ton of damage without AS, because they're not going to be getting significant healing from encounter powers. Probably they're trying to force clerics to use soothing light. As they say they've beefed it up, maybe it's not HAMSTER now, though it…
A drunken dwarven cleric (are there any other kind?) stumbles up to a stranger in the Tavern. "If you stay here, you're as doomed as I am." The stranger becomes concerned and asks, "What do you mean?" "I'd been sitting on this stool for 5 days waiting for a sign from Moradin, performing my rituals.", at which time he takes…
Probably better for group work, but for solo? The nice thing about Healing Word is that you can use it while you're running from the boss, dodging aoes, etc. Usually I'm try to NOT stand next to those guys. :) Disclaimer: Have spent virtually no time with FF. My quick attempt at using it wasn't compelling for me. HW was…
Healing word is much better for healing than Sunburst. I keep sunburst too for divinity and action pt regen + minion-cleanup, but it's healing power is negligible in the scheme of things. Divinity-Healing Word gives a burst heal, which can be very useful in keeping someone up. the thing about Healing word is that it starts…
Not really. The stamina bar is bent into a chevron. If you have more than the Peak value (ie. you see anything on the right-hand side) then you can dodge. 5% regen is pretty vital in my build. I regret not having taken those feats and will be heading to get them as soon as I can afford a feat-respect. more constant casting…
Man at Arms in my 50s can generally keep at least one ugly off me for a significant period of time (and often indefinitely.) That's not useless, even for a mere rank 15 companion. Of course, that requires being a cleric.
People talk down on Healing Word, but without good reason. Healing Word for soloing is actually quite good. It starts off with a small heal, but eventually builds up to some pretty huge heals. I was using Healing Word + Sunburst to keep my Man at Arms alive up until about level 54 when I decided to try Astral Shield again…
