If you're talking about Conduit of Ice, each tic was counting as a spell cast (would proc stuff and stopped working when out of line of sight), although it still worked like a DoT in terms of critting. Also any dot tics update on mitigation reduction btw, even those that weren't "dots".
Lol wow, this is proof many of you barely have played any games. These mechanics aren't new.... at all, I've seen much better. Personally I was banking on this patch to make cleric more fun and interesting to play, and give us more customization. Unfortunately we still only have 1 encounter slot to pick from and only 1…
Free spawning mobs (which there is a ton of in boss fights) will alpha strike the cleric constantly, and when AS falls off, that will insta gib them. The game is balanced around 100% uptime Astral Shield and they need to fix that.
I'm about... 80%? sure that was sarcasm lol. Part of me wants me to get back on and try taking advantage of this while prices don't suck, but most of me just doesn't GAF lol. =/
It does... it's the exact same thing. The bleed would require a lot more testing because you will get a different range of dmg every time naturally from the range no your weapon lol..
I agree somewhat. I'd like to see trash be equally as difficult and rewarding. As well as interesting along with bosses, but fat chance at that happening lol.
Yes, it was beyond overpowered. But it was necessary, the game is balanced around it, there is too much unavoidable dmg flying at you otherwise, so they need to make adjustments. I would LOVE to see AS completely die.
THIS. THIS. THIS. THIS X100000000000000000000000000000000000 People need to understand this. PSUEDO-ACTION RPG. This is why 100% uptime Astral Shield was seriously the most important thing clerics did, it's literally like 90% of what our class is about right now. And I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE it.
Or, speaking as a cleric. They could kill Astral Shield completely (along with Righteousness), replace it with a more active protection style heal and rebalance the game so most of the dmg is avoidable and it becomes an actual Action Rpg.
Definately, on top of that I wish trash was more interesting, like give them more mechanics. I want to see this be sorta like Burning Crusade heroics. It needs to be tough but interesting, even the trash, and make them rewarding. ESPECIALLY let trash drop more vendor trash items, like blue vendor trash that sells for 2g…
I invoke all my characters every single morning. I invoked said character 3 times yesterday the last before going to bed, and I woke up this morning and it's all gone. Back to your bridge.
Or even better. Bastion of Health now places an Astral Shield afterwards for like 5 seconds. Replace Astral Shield with some kind of active protection-style spell.
Hell even if they add a bunch of new classes and paragon paths which is what I'm waiting for, if new content is still the same trash like this I won't even bother.
Everything in this game depends on your CW not being bad. That even extends to Spider boss, 1 decent CW that knows what he's doing and it's not so bad.
I used ATLEAST 6, I have no idea what you're talking about. And yes, managing HoT's was an active thing. No they weren't playing DPS, that's not the point, they did plenty of dmg, more than you'd ever need. You act like they did 0. Also their little "place heals on the ground" thing was not 90% of their healing like it is…
That's not true. 2x CW will become mandatory, that's all. Hell you could probably just beat with with 4 CW's and no healer with 2 CW's rotating Oppressive daily, because let's face it, the ONLY threat in the ENTIRE game is the adds that spam HAMSTER dmg. X2 Oppressive would pretty much completely lock them down lol, hp…
Well I don't know about you, but I enjoyed doing hard stuff, and that didn't mean just standing around casually refreshing a HoT. I played a Priest and ran a ton of Heroics during the start of Cata and that was a ton of fun for me. Managing my mana, cleansing things, CC'ing mobs, doing dmg (yeah healers did PLENTY of dmg…
The only reason a cleric can keep himself alive is because the bullsh** mechanic known as Righteousness isn't affecting Astral Shield nor Forgemaster Flames, and those are really the only things you use to heal with lol. As well as the massive DR on AS. And no, Astral Shield dmg reduction is extremely important. It's 24%…
