I ran this for the first time earlier. One and two were fine for me; two of the plants didn't have Guardians, but as melodywhr says, I assume that's deliberate. Patching things up was the first of the three completed and my third was collecting mushrooms, so no issues there. The zone it put me in did seem pretty quiet…
If the previous competition winner(s) are still featured, then this is probably an oversight. I'm not in game, have new 'Spotlights' been posted to the catalogue? Tuesday is normally update day.
Aye, I'm the Font of all Knowledge, me :) Jaspor, the way campaigns work at the moment, any activity affects all chapters - for example, add a new chapter to a campaign and the whole thing goes into the 'New' tab. As long as that structure remains in place, all campaigns that have activity in any chapter, would mean all…
Yeah, I don't expect authors to have thought about it yet; as you say it is so new. I just hope you all capitalise on it...and if anyone wants any dummy searches done, I am happy to assist.
When I search for "tomes" it is the top of the list I get back; same with "Tomes". I swear you authors need lessons in searching. And yes, I am well aware it is 'tomes' and not 'books', but given your opinion of the mentality of Foundry players, surely you would make your search description as child-friendly as you think…
As I recall, the essence of your contest entry quest is to have the player search for some old books on magic. Guess what quest didn't show up when I used 'books' as a search term. How 4th grade :o
We more or less have that already, though obviously the most important type of cheese would be used as a search term along with the filtered options :) Time - filter option already in Zone - already works off player's geographical location (can also be set as a preference in the Description field) Tag - filter option…
I don't disagree as the option to perform a word search was always there I believe, only it was hidden among a strew of other fields and was mislabelled to a degree. And I have to admit, so keen was I to get to the tagging part of the Foundry, I actually overlooked the Quick Search field completely at first. I don't think…
Blast, I have forgotten his name, but there is an author who creates Foundry quests for the purpose of attaining Slayer achievements. If he has republished since the patch, you should be able to find his quests by typing "slayer" or "achievement" or similar in the Quick Search field of the in game catalogue. If nothing…
You have no idea how many plays you actually had as your quest was broken to the point it was unable to be completed. It was on my third attempt that I actually got to the review box - I persisted with it, but you can't blame players for not going back a second or third time as I did. Your quest wasn't the only broken one;…
I wasn't suggesting a database for the benefit of the authors Narayan  And I dispute this assertion 1. When the recent contest was held, the amount of plays the authors received were a direct result of a sticky in this forum and an item in the 'News' page. 2. When the patch 10 days ago broke published quests, many…
I can understand that minimal plays are disappointing, but your quests would be in no danger of being 'inactive' with any of the suggestions I have seen here. How to get more plays is a conundrum; I really empathise with the reluctance to self-promote, I am not a great self-promoter, though have no problem championing…
Three months! Like politics, a week is a long time in an MMO, 90 days and you may as well not even bother removing. The tabs will be as they were before the patch, dominated by the same 65 quests - and that is especially frustrating of the review tab, the author's first chance to be seen. Only they won't be :( Edit: May I…
As far as I am concerned, as long as a quest is getting plays it is not 'abandoned'. Authors aren't the only people in this community (:p), so using only their log-in or edit activity isn't enough. Review tab - I think a maximum of 7 days to attain five reviews is ample, even for authors who have difficulty self-promoting.…
Definitely any troll that dares to say "Press Tab Too". That's just begging for a smackdown. (EDIT: And thanks to whoever came up with that line, it never fails to make me giggle).
Yeah, a time limit should be imposed just as it is with the New tab. Lets face it, even if a quest can be completed if it hasn't achieved 5 reviews in a week, say, then the only person responsible for that is the author.
And that is exactly how it works now, except by your own count we have a top 65 not a top 50. Isn't more better? FYI, the 'Featured' tab normally only displays the quests most recently featured. So, for example, if on the next update three Foundrys are given spotlight status, then we will only see those three in the…
Yeah, that was my point - you do get something tangible, besides giving back to the community. And giving back is how I try to see it but, as Saerrael points out, the amount of exploit quests along with the amount of quests that are deliberately impossible to complete, makes it very hard going.
And what determines the top 50? At the moment it is the adjusted rating. If you would like a different way of calculating what determines 'Best' perhaps you should clarify that, otherwise we will continue to go around in circles. Great news! I'd also like to add my thanks for you popping in. It's reassuring to know the…
I've not given up on tagging, but when searching I find the Quick Search field to be adequate (and fun, I have been throwing random words in to see what I get back). Anyway, my point is, carry on tagging in your descriptions and we can find your quests using criteria of your choosing :)
I'm wondering if it is mission specific too rune as it has always been erratic for me (IE 10). I try not to collect via Gateway at all, but often the button is clicked before I can help myself. Lost the AD from my overnight missions only this morning by accidently doing this.
Oh well. You can at least link it from the editable version...that should help. Also, I am in game right now playing around with the quick search function. 'Lore' brings up several little-played quests besides the usual suspects; I know you weren't looking for lore specifically, just non lore-breaking quests, but there is…
That's effectively what we have already *confused* Over 10, below 50. Put it this way, whenever I have heard a shout from an author asking for plays, there has only been one person I ignored (the gold pit fella), so from my perspective and regardless of numbers, this is a good way for an author to get their quests played.…
The 4.2 was pre-patch and from memory, but there is indeed a cut-off. Yes, quests close to that cut-off can have the misfortune of falling on the wrong side, but does that mean there should be no restriction, in game, of how many quests are seen? No. It would be lag central at the job board and would result in seeing even…
Hah! anton, I swear your posts have bipolar  Edit to add: Yes, I am not sure about the 'no review' status, but I think number of plays factor into the adjusted rating, so plays with no review kind of do have an impact?
